Dr Dakoji has been my chiro for the past 5 years. I have moved away from SF, but any chance I get to come back to the city, I come back to her for a treatment.
Dr. Dakoji not only helps my back from the massive wear and tear of doing camera work but she gives me advice, tips and tricks on what sorts of stretches or pain creams I should use. Even what sort of running shoes. She is sweet and caring, but most importantly she listens.
Finding the right chiropractor is crucial, especially if you have back problems of all sorts. Dr. Dakoji Is personable, she always takes the time to get to know you and your bodies needs. She doesn’t have 2 or 3 other appointments going on, she’s only there for you.
Moving away from the area and coming back, I realized what a gem her work is and why I will always make time to pay her a visit. Even so, leaving her my first Unilocal review. Yup, shes that good.

Dr. Dakoji is a miracle worker.
As a former D1 track and field athlete with a myriad of hip, low back and neck issues I had bounced from doctor to doctor trying to find a solution to my pain. I had seen a chiropractor in Chicago in 2011 and had a less than favorable experience. Dr. Dakoji came highly recommended from more than a few people when I moved to San Francisco last summer.
Within 8 weeks she had me walking correctly and has nearly restored the range of motion in my hip to 100%. She does an excellent job of explaining the source of the issues and what she is doing to fix it. She’s extremely patient and personal and always remembers what’s going on in my life. My pain level is now down to almost nothing and I only see her once a month for maintenance (or if I do something stupid to re-​aggravate it like carry a couch up three flights of steps).
Dr. Dakoji is the best chiropractor and pain specialist I’ve ever seen, and I’m not exaggerating when I say she’s a miracle worker. I now live pain free and have her to thank for it.

Dr Dakoji is amazing. I’ve seen her for several years as needed, depending on what my body is up to, and it’s always the best part of my day. She’s calm and attentive, she takes time to work your muscles before making adjustments, and she’s always professional and kind. Not even a new 45 min commute could keep me away from her.

Dr. Dakoji is the most amazing thing to ever happen to my body. I have very bad head aches and she has been a major factor in getting rid of them! I recommend Dr. Dakoji to anyone who is looking for a customized touch. She is the most thorough, attentive, kind Dr. Of any kind.

Dr. Dakoji is amazing! I stand all day at work and started having bad lower back pain. My co worker recommended her to me and within 4 weeks or so the pain is gone and my back is getting stronger. She really takes the time to get to know your body and educate you on what you may be doing wrong and how to fix it. My posture is improving every week and by sticking to the at home exercises she taught me my back will continuously become stronger. I highly recommend her to anybody with back pain or looking for a new chiropractor.

Dr. Dakoji is the best. I started coming in because my left hipflexor was having issues. She diagnosed me properly and we worked on developing my glute strength to rectify the problem. Even though I’m fine now, I still like to see her on a regular basis for maintenance and deep tissue work (it’s painful bliss). It’s also great that she spends a solid 30 minutes on you per session; I know a lot of chiros just adjust you then send you on your way in 15 min or less…
I’d definitely recommend her, even for preventative-​type care/​muscle work, if you have a good insurance plan. For me it’s 15 bucks a visit after my deductible, so I plan to see her once or twice a month, year around, indefinitely.

Dr. Dakoji is the best chiropractor that I’ve ever seen.
I was referred to her by a co-​worker in December of 2013 after spending three straight workdays bitching about my back/​neck situation. 6 years in a cubicle had me taking regular levels of musculoskeletal discomfort for granted, but when I went to see Dr. Dakoji for the first time it was only because my back pain had hit unbearable levels. My first visit not only corrected whatever it was that was going particularly poorly with my spine at the time, it took me back to the days before a desk job– my spine felt brand new.
Because realignment is a process, I continued to see Dr. Dakoji through the end of April 2014 when I left the Bay Area. She was overwhelmingly flexible and patient with my wonky schedule and I honestly looked forward to my adjustments. Each appointment she gave me one or two exercises to do at home and on the road to keep my spine from regressing. Although I haven’t seen Dr. Dakoji in 2 months (and full disclosure, I COULD be more diligent with the exercises), my back and neck continue to feel better than they have in something like a decade.

Dr. Dakoji is the only doctor I trust.
I consulted her for the first time 18 months ago. Right away, she amazed me by her analytical approach. She takes the time to diagnose and find the root-​cause of the problem before providing exercises to do at home.
She is so nice, and she really cares about her patients. She always explains me what’s happening, so I can understand the treatment.
Personal story: she saved me from becoming a lame, by helping me understand why my foot was hurting… and I will never be able to thank her enough for that.

I have been a patient of Dr. Dakoji’s for over two years now and I am so happy that she finally opened her own practice! Prior to meeting Dr. Dakoji, I was slightly shorter on one side, had scoliosis, a stiff neck and stiff shoulders. Now, I’m almost even in height, have a much better posture, less pain in my neck, shoulders and back, my spine is more aligned, and I have more awareness of my physical well-​being.
So why are her methods so effective? She does a great job adjusting but It’s not just about adjusting; it’s also about physical therapy and strength building. Dr. Dakoji takes the time to work my muscles before making any adjustments. She takes the time to understand my body, my trouble spots and explains how to alleviate the tightness by foam rolling. She also taught me various exercises that strengthened my back muscles and my core, which helps naturally align my spine. And, she even got me hooked on working out that I now go to the gym 4 – 5 times a week.
Not to mention, she really cares about each and every one of patients. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Dakoji and I highly recommend her.

Dr. Dakoji is seriously my go-​to girl whenever my neck or back decides to give me grief and I would follow her to the ends of the earth for treatment if that’s what it took! She strikes the perfect balance between professional and personable, and is sincerely interested in making you healthy again. I am so delighted that she has started her own practice!
I have been seeing Dr. Dakoji for the past 3+ years, as needed. The first visit was quite reluctant on my part (at the insistence of my husband who also sees her) for a recurring ankle injury. When I was there, she asked me how long my neck had been bothering me… Huh?!! How did she *know* that!!! Apparently, by assessing me and my posture! Since then, and ankle cured, I’ve visited her office for lower and upper back issues, and yes, those pesky neck issues, which have gotten soooo much better since receiving treatment (they would probably be gone completely if I wasn’t so lazy and skipped the exercises she showed me to do on my own!). I have such a sense of well being after I leave Dr. Dakoji’s office that I will often go in just for a nice little adjustment. I highly recommend Dr. Dakoji and recommend that you give her a try!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Dakoji and she has helped me to ease my back pain and improve my posture! She has done miracles to my back. I prefer a chiropractor who can really get out the knots in my back and she has perfected that!
I work at a desk which brings pain to my back. The more I see her the better my posture gets. She also has taught me workouts to make sure I am continuously working to improvements. She has a nice spot in the heart if SF that is conveniently located.

Dr. Dakoji is my go to chiropractor! She fixes all my ailments-​from a hurt shoulder, to a tailbone fall, flat feet issues and even bad posture. I have recommended her to anyone who needs a chiropractor and they all find her work excellent. She showed me exercises to strengthen my back and neck for better posture and helped me to fix a tailbone injury that caused me pain.

Dr. D is «No Ka Oi!» (The Best in Hawaiian!!). She is intuitive and listens to patients… and is able to discern best method to make you feel better. She provides guidance to help you in daily activities in addition to directly addressing your pains and problems. I’d follow her to the ends of the earth!

Dr. Dakoji is excellent. She is one of the finest healthcare providers that I have ever had. I was referred to her by a coworker 2 years ago, and since then I’ve found her to be a deeply skilled and conscientious person.
For some people, chiropractic has a bad rap. There are a lot of bad chiropractors out there, and I was deeply skeptical. Dr. Dakoji is NOT simply a «adjust you and then you’re gone» type of chiropractor! She is all about the whole body, and educating her clients so that they live a healthier life.
Dr. Dakoji has not just treated my body, but she has worked to give me the tools to live better. She has patiently explained to me everything I need to know about posture and musculature so that I can continue to work to decrease muscle imbalances and flareups in my body.

When my body is fine, she is the one to suggest that we see each other less — and when things flare up and I do need to see her, she is timely and pleasant. As an avid distance runner I am always used to new aches flaring up for a few days at a time when I approach the higher mile weeks ahead of races. Usually they just work themselves out with a little re-​focused attention on shortening my stride and making sure the feet are tracking right but this last ache in my hip just kept nagging me for weeks through all the hills.
I went to see Dr. Dakoji a little over a week ago and got some great tips for building the small muscles in my hips that really get worked on the trails. Some really focused adjustments and deep elbow work on the problem spots left me sore the day of the treatment but feeling 90% better then next day. I was really impressed how all the stretching I had been doing hadn’t helped much but one treatment in the competent hands of Dr. Dakoji got me running pain free again. I still do the muscle building moves she showed me, that’s the key to not ending up back on the hurt list again, and after a 20 miler today my hip is feeling great. Thanks Dr. Dakoji!

A few years ago, my lower back went out (3^rd time, I think) and I was in considerable pain and discomfort for a good week. As my mind wonder why the hell did my back go out again, I realize I needed a profession opinion instead of trying to live through the pain.
…so I searched for the closest Chiro office within a mile of my workplace. Chiro-​Health came up and I decided to make an appointment with them for the next day through their website. They called within 30 minutes and told me to come in EOD instead. Cool, that’s awesome… get this lower back fixed pronto.
I walked in and was greeted by Dr. Dakoji. Seriously, I saw her and was thinking, she’s a small woman… i’m not sure she’s strong enough to crack my spine, etc. etc. I was wrong. She gave me a series of test and checked to see my balance and all that fun stuff. She adjusted my back and helped loosen some aching muscles and the whole time, she was telling me what was wrong with me and my posture.
I’ll be honest, in my mind, I was thinking… oh just fix my back. snap, crackle and pop it and be done with it. After the adjustment, I thought I was done but I was wrong. She sat me down and told me I have to do some stretches and get some equipment to help loosen my back. HUH?
Yeah, I’ll say after my first treatment, I didn’t really listen to what she said and just thought I’ll come back here one more time to loosen up my lower back and be done with this place…
The next day… wow…i must say… my back feels a lot better… still tender and bruised… but better.
My next appointment, Dr. Dakoji notice my posture and movement is a lot better… but she quickly brought me back down to earth and told me there’s a lot of work I still need to do. She told me… I have bad posture, shoulder blades are not aligned, shoulder is too tensed… lower back is overworking… core muscles are super weak. Damn, I just came here to relief some pain…(in my mind).
Throughout the next few visits, she started showing me more core exercises, how to use a foam roller, fitness balls for a chair, balance exercises and dyna-​disk for the office chair. Damn… i don’t want to do this. I don’t want to spend more money on junk. But I went ahead and bought the foam roller that weekend to just try it out. It was painful and torturous the first few times using the roller. I follow the techniques she showed me for the foam roller exercises, and she kept showing me new techniques so I won’t get bored of the same exercises. My legs and back started feeling looser and looser and Dr. Dakoji even notice I am getting better and better with my posture.
Even after all the torturous therapy and her strength training (dont let her size fool you), I look forward to seeing her for my adjustments and to learn more on how to stretch properly and build up my core muscles so my back will not go out on me again. It’s one of my better decisions in my life to let her train me on how to activate and strengthen my core muscles and to give myself an opportunity to live a healthier life.
