Wow I was so impressed by dr Adame and his wonderful assistant Shawn (?) thanks to Ray and Veronica at the front desk who helped get me in after breaking my tooth my regular dentist was out of town and I was in panic mode as i was going out of town dr Adame saved the day he was so kind as I told him i had no dental insurance he gave me a temporary fix till I can see dr Montalvo (same practice) you are in great hands with both these dentists and their lovely staff !!

Who can give 5-​stars to a dentist? I can, because I see Dr Adame.
*The office is convenient to transit near Market and Church, yet tucked away in a peaceful oasis
* It’s so pretty in there — while lying in a chair with your mouth open you get to look at huge healthy trees outside, which is calming
* it’s just the right style of low-​key and lovely
* they’ve never ever tried to upsell me
* Ray at the front is the perfect balance of warm and efficient
* Sean his assistant is kind, knowing, and a truly sweet person
* Patricia is a knowledgable and competent hygenist that creates a positive experience
* and Dr. Adame? he is committed to the well-​being of my mouth, and will be to yours, too. I cracked my tooth eating ice, and he was so caring, guiding me through the long process of repairing the damage, all the while listening to and helping me rationalize my fears, striving for perfection on the appearance, and providing as much comfort as possible along the way.
My teeth and mouth are healthy, happy, and pretty, thanks to the team effort of Dr Adame and his staff, and I highly recommend this office.

The staff is very accommodating, the dental hygienist is friendly and knowledgable and Dr. Adame is very personable.

Everyone here has a great sense of humor and are very helpful. I love asking questions about teeth and they seem to love answering them. Dr. Adame is very good at keeping you comfortable while filling cavities. My dental insurance is «middle tier» so my cleaning and X-​rays were fully covered while fillings cost me a small amount out of pocket. I think the quality of care here is worth paying a little extra for. Thanks all!

Started seeing Dr. Adame several years ago. While his attitude is a bit cold, appreciated how upfront and conservative his diagnosis is. I kept going and now regret it.
1) Ray, the front desk assistant, is quite rude.
1a) Called to schedule a cleaning and confirm they accept my new Delta Dental insurance. He confirmed and I had to find out he was incorrect.
1b) Scheduled an appointment to fix a cavity that was filled improperly. Called several times to confirm, left a message, and heard nothing back. Emailed asking about insurance again and if they do not accept, to recommend a different dentist. He simply responds with «Your appointment is cancelled» — so unprofessional and simply curt.
2) Dr. Adame isn’t very nice to his dental hygienist. She is out-​of-​her-​way nice to clients and him, asking questions on my behalf and he blankly ignores her. Following up later with a remark, «What? I’m trying to pay attention to the x-​rays»
Maybe something is up, but it feels like things have changed. I’m sure there is a cleaning bill coming because they incorrectly told me my insurance had me covered.
Super frustrating, unprofessional, and a waste of time.

These guys are not professional. They are disorganized and are quick to tell you to find another dentist. Horrible experience here. Not sure how they got good reviews. Also the front desk manager is rude and has an attitude. Regret ever going

Heather is a wonderful hygienist. I love that she explains every little thing she’s doing, as well as what she’s seeing in my mouth.

I’ve been going here for a couple years, and it’s far and away the best dental experience I’ve had in the Bay Area. Dr. Adame is great — friendly, competent, and thorough — but as we all know, you spend most of your time during a cleaning with the hygienist. My hygienist, Heather, is extremely knowledgable, capable, and even passionate about her work. She’s even won hygienist awards for her efforts to keep up-​to-​date on the dental field. At this point, I wouldn’t trust my teeth to anyone else.

For being a «premier dentist» I would expect to have at least my upper AND bottom teeth cleaned as a first time customer. When I asked my hygienist why he didn’t clean my upper teeth he claimed he did and I did not want to argue with him but I’m certain he didn’t as there is a distinct clean feeling you get after you’ve had a cleaning when you run your tongue over the back of your teeth. They were also quick to suggest extra services, at an out of pocket cost, that have not been suggested to me in the past and I’m religious about my cleaning, exams and X-​rays. To be exact, when they were probing (measuring) my teeth/​gum pockets, my measurements have improved since my visit with another dentist 6 months prior. I could be wrong but all these things make me a skeptical and I feel it’s worth getting a second opinion.

I’ve been going here regularly for 4 years.
A good hygienist is very important to me, because you see them more often — Linda and Heather are both excellent!
Ray, at the front desk, is professional and friendly.
Dr. Adame is gentle, caring and always makes me feel relaxed.
Everyone here is excellent, knows you by name, and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.

Good value for very competent work. They don’t do cosmetic work, which for me is a plus since it means they have less overhead than cosmetic dentists who rely on selling you services that aren’t medically needed in order to stay afloat. I spend cash for my dental services, so I shopped around a bit, asking for rates for various services, before I settled on Adame, who offered me a small discount for paying cash.
I have been very satisfied over the 4 or so years I’ve been using Adame. Linda his hygenist just does solid work and is very knowledgeable, constantly updating her knowledge for thoughtful patient education. Her experience is clear; I can relax and don’t worry when she’s on the case.
They have been very good at not pushing unneccessary services; I only got X rays on the ADA schedule, and they actually talked me out of having some work done. A dental appliance from Adame cost only ~60% of what I paid to a previous higher-​end cosmetic dentist. Yet it came from the same lab and seems to work just as well.

Wow. First time visit and totally impressed with everything about this place! The office is charming, the receptionist is hot, my hygienist was amazing and super gentle, and Dr. Adame totally knows his stuff and was loving my super white and perfectly straight teeth! WINNING

What often matters even more than the dentist, is the hygienist. You spend most of your time with this person as they analyze, clean and prep your teeth for the doctor.
I was so thrilled with how thorough Linda was with my appointment yesterday. She talked to me as she did the work to let me know what she was seeing and gave me recommendations. What was even better was that she followed up with Dr. Adame when he came over for my exam. She also polished my teeth wonderfully and was so gentle the entire time.

like many younger siblings, my big brother is very protective over me. however, unlike many others, my big brother is a dentist. he lives in the chicagoland and works for the VA, so aside from the occasional casual check-​up spread out over the couch at thanksgiving, all i can really use him for is some genuine un-​motivated-​by-​money advice when i feel like i’m not sure what i need.
i used to go to dr. adame when i lived close by, but tried out a different dentist one time at a place that was in my neighborhood and that my partner swore by. although i was more than happy with dr. adame, i tried out this other dentist and immediately regretted it.
not only was this other dentist a bit mean, he said that my permanent retainer wasn’t broken (despite me feeling the spiky wire poking out with my tongue and the obvious x-​ray showing a huge gaping hole in the wire), and was extremely liberal in his decision to fill two discolored (but not sticky) deep grooves that everyone who has ever looked at my teeth all consider «an area to keep an eye on.»
i checked in with my brother, who was shocked that this other dentist was still using film x-​ray, plopped me down on the couch, confirmed that there were no cavities, and told me that when it comes down to drilling out bits of your teeth, you should always be conservative.
i called dr. adame’s office and asked if he’d be able to take off my retainer and give me a sealant instead of filling them, and was immediately put on the phone with dr. adame himself. he immediately spoke to me by name (even though i didn’t even give it), and clearly had my file in hand. he asked me about my brother and, without even trying to appeal to what he knew i wanted to hear or put down the other guy, he reiterated everything that my brother said about the need to be conservative about drilling your teeth, about how it’s obvious to see whether the retainer broke, and even expressed surprise at how this other place hadn’t gone digital. he also said that he would fax over my information to a great orthodontist and would have his office assistant schedule an appointment for me the next day.
that being said, dr. adame is THE BEST.

+ 1 star for being super gentle when he’s working
+ 1 star for being super knowledgable and making good decisions about your teeth
+ 1 star for the prettiest office space that i always drool over (no, not just after that swirl and spit thing)
+ 1 star for being super flexible
= a keeper.
why did i ever leave dr. adame in the first place?! he is the dentist that everyone is looking for.

I found Dr Adame more than 5 years ago on the recommendation of fabulous Unilocalers who did not steer me wrong! The team here is amazing, through umpteen cleanings and my inability to get numb (despite 6+ shots of novacaine) to a nasty infected wisdom tooth and a referral to the best oral surgeon in SF, I have never had a bad moment. I have referred many friends here and they have all been pleasantly surprised that going to the dentist doesn’t have to be horrific!
Bonus points for the beautiful garden setting, big windows and good wall art.

Dr Adame and the Dental Hygenist (I think Heather… blonde girl) are awesome! They are willing to work within my financial constraints and make every effort to do everything they can for me.
I am so happy to have found this dentist… and their location is perfect for me too!

I discovered this morning that I’ve been going to see Dr. Adame for almost a decade now. I don’t know where to begin with this review.. .. his thorough care, great attention to detail, his genuine concern for my life out of his chair, the fact that he isn’t an ouchy dentist?
I know.. . I will start with his hygienist, Linda. Linda who is the BEST hygienist on the planet. Oh, they can all scrape the tartar off your bicuspids, polish up your incisors real purty and keep you from gagging when they put the xray plate thingies into awkward positions in your mouth.. . but have you EVER been to a hygienist that doesn’t lay on the guilt for not flossing? I bet the answer is no! Not only does she come up with good excuses for me («that tooth is in a really weird position, no wonder your gum depth rating is a 5»), but she gives good suggestions for tools to use with which to floss other than string or tape («how about a a shower attachment water pic device?»). I want to be better for Linda — oh yeah, and Steven too.

Time to update. So Dr Adame *was* there to do the exam on my recent visit. He really is good — very gentle and answers questions well. Also, I should add that it seems to have been a fluke, him not being present on 2 consecutive visits. I’ve referred several people to him over the past couple of years and none of them seem to have had the no-​shows from him that I did. (Is it me? My breath? Could it be so bad that even the dentist won’t come near?!? j/​k of course. Fortunately for me, my mouth is in good shape (that’s what she said) and I do not appear to have suffered from missing out on a year’s worth of dental exams.)
Conveniently located, gentle and informative, and actually present to do the dental exam, earns a star back.
