Stitch – Window Coverings & Custom Furnishings

I used Stitch for a recent project and I can not say enough about the personal customer service I received. Rachael really delivered what I needed and Martin, who came out for the install, was professional and did the job in record time. I don’t write a lot of reviews but with customer service this good, it would be a shame not to!

I have worked with Rachael and her team for many years and have been completely happy with everything she has done for me. I am an interior designer and often ask for complicated and very specific designs and Rachael has worked with me on every aspect to produce exactly what I had envisioned. She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful in her suggestions and recommendations and I trust her expertise 100%. I highly recommend Stitch for all of your window treatment needs.

We worked with Rachel and she was awesome. We have oddly shaped windows with a more modern feel so we wanted something fresh and clean, but also functional. She really took the time to come up with ideas for us, sent out samples and answered our questions. Once we had decided they sent us temporary curtains which was great in the interim. She was also honest about the pricing, no secrets here custom window coverings are pricey and she was up front about the cost. Their installation was very professional and fast. We are very happy with the result. I would highly recommend working with Stitch on any custom window project.

Really loved working with Rachael. She helped us with some huge floor to ceiling drapery in our home last year. She was able to guide us through picking fabric and and choosing lining that worked perfectly for our living room and bedroom. The result was really immaculate and beautiful. She has a keen sense for detail and really wants you to be happy with the result. She is friendly and organized. The installation happened smoothly, and she was on site to make sure everything looked perfect before they left! Since then, we’ve been enjoying our drapes tremendously!

Rachael is truly talented! Awesome design, amazing solutions, and great results! She designed curtains for our dinning room, living room, and family room. We have a curved front window which needed a custom rod. We found Stitch online and hoped they could solve our dilemma. Rachael exceeded our expectations by a mile. They are great to work with and her understanding of color and design made our job so much easier. She assessed the feel of the room and her samples were great choices.
The process was well organized from start to finish. If you are tired of being disappointed with the lack of professionalism and follow through from vendors, this is the company for you! A thoroughly delightful experience.

Spent weeks back and forth trying to get an appointment. The day before my appointment they suggested I look into hunter Douglas cellular shades when I was inquiring about custom roman shades. This is not all at what I wanted… impression that they can’t be bothered to work with me. I would go somewhere else with more professional attitude that understands client needs.

Rachael’s design sense is impeccable. Her choice of fabrics is wide and stellar. I love our living room curtains, they look amazing. She even worked with our existing décor (a vintage valence) instead of upselling. Completely worth the price.
Satisfaction guaranteed as well; the curtains were resewn when the measurements were just a little off, and her installer came back TWICE when we noticed the valences were not even with each other. (Of course, we hadn’t paid the balance yet, so maybe that helped.) An appreciation for perfection.
A local designer-​artisan, the real deal. We’d love to use her for some window seat cushions, but she seems very much in demand. And, to be honest, that project is kind of boring and a waste of her talents. If you have something challenging or want curtains that really make a room, you should really try to get her! Wonderful work.

I have to say Rachel came highly recommend, but extremely surprised how I was treated, throughout our interaction via email. Initially she was responsive to my inquire and request for proposal. I had told her, upon receiving it that I would get back to her within the week. I did and let her know that she was the one I wanted to move forward with, but that I had some travels that would prohibit me from connecting for about 4 weeks. Upon my return, I reached out to her when she could come by my house and take a look at what I would looking to do (a large banquet re-​upholstry job). She said she was busy over the next week and that she would reach out to me the following. She never did, so I reached out to her again. She asked me where I lived (which I had already told her. just over the hill from her offices in Noe). And I never got a response. I reached out to her again and she told me that it was a very busy week for her with installs and that another week would be best. I asked her to find a date that would best work for her so that we could at least get things scheduled. Yet again, no response. I get the impression that her «bread and butter» is in shades (per positive Unilocal) but at least have the common respect to get back to people and let them know one way or another what you can or can’t do.
What’s a shame is I have so much work for her (curtains, chairs, etc.) that this could have been pretty lucrative for her, but I cannot work with someone who is SO non-​responsive when it comes to setting up appointments.

We first hired Hunter Douglass and was unhappy with their options for our circular bay windows. We found Rachel, owner of Stitch on Unilocal and couldn’t be happier.
We now have beautiful custom made (yet decently priced) rod and roman shades that fit perfectly into the narrow depth of our windows without looking bulky. The installment date of the drapes are next week (but I wanted to get this Unilocal review done since I hardly Unilocal consistantly anymore), and I love that they put in temporary drapes in so we can still get the pitch black room to sleep in.
I did minus one star because we had problems scheduling in our installment date for our shades, but aside from that I think Stitch is stellar!

Horrible customer service.
My husband and I spent a good two hours in Rachael’s office picking out fabrics for a banquette project in our home. After picking out our top three favorite fabrics Rachael said she would get back to us with a quote. The quote never came so after several weeks I emailed her again, still no answer. I called her on the phone a week later and she gave me a flimsy excuse that she had lost my email and would get back to me. When she did finally come back with a quote it was over a thousand dollars more than the original quote. When I reminded her of her original quote for the job she said she would re-​run the numbers using a different foam insert. Well two months go by and still no word from Rachael at Stitch. After sending another email and still no response I called her and she gave me the runaround again that now her source for wood is too expensive. I got the distinct impression in our last phone conversation that she didn’t want to do the project. Instead of being professional and communicating this to me months ago her preference was to just ignore me.
Rachael ignored my emails, gave me different excuses every time I called and wasted my time by giving me the run around for months. I am very disappointed in their customer service and would not recommend them to anyone.

Non responsive, I’ve gotten one reply after three emails and two phone calls over two weeks period. I’ve moved on to another business with better customer service.

This is my first home in SF, but not my first time doing my windows. So when I met Rachael, I could tell after our first meeting she was the one I would use. She’s a true professional in her trade. She has a CLEAR understanding of all types of treatments, fabrics, and their uses that could or could not meet your needs. You can be as involved as want or just let her drive. She’s listening to you even when you think, «Does she REALLY know what I mean?» She puts it all together and her end products are AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL!
I used her for my living room draperies, my bedroom Roman blinds and my guest bedroom wooden blinds. I love all three, and I’m not easy to please…

If I could give Rachael 6 stars I would absolutely do this. We recently added a lower level to our mid-​century modern, and from the first moment of Rachael’s arrival, I knew I had selected the perfect person to help me with the window treatments. From the generation of design ideas in keeping with the mid-​century vibe, to the perfect selection of fabric, to the high quality of the finished product and installation — — each step exceeded expectations. The final product is fabulous! Thanks to Rachael for everything and more.

Simple design is hard. But Rachael and her team took the challenge and came up with a clean and simple treatment that has proven durable as we and our 4 year old have used it daily for the last 3 months.
She took the extra time to find the right fabrics for our roman shade and block out blinds that blended well with our existing décor. She knew which fabrics to focus on from her gigantic library and she even knew that some fabrics might not be available for long as we went through a prototype phase that stretched out the timeline for our project.
Her installer came back multiple times to adjust the hardware till it was just as we wanted it.
Altogether a satisfying ‘high touch’ experience.

From the moment I met with Rachael to discuss plans for the window coverings for my newly acquired and very large Victorian home, I knew I was working with a consummate professional. Upon our first meeting I was given the opportunity to review what seemed like endless swatches of gorgeous, high quality fabrics and various rod samples.
Stitch provided an extremely thorough and understandable quotation prior to starting our project and I found that any questions I had were quickly and professionally answered in a timely fashion. While I admit Stitch is not inexpensive, the importance of the aesthetic (and quality) of this project outweighed any desire I had to pinch pennies and once I met with her, well, I knew that Stitch was going to do all of the work in my home no matter the cost.
Rachael and her team did an exquisite job with all of our window coverings, paying careful attention to each and every detail. From the planning stages and inspired design phase to the finished product, the quality of the workmanship from Stitch is unsurpassed and Rachael’s eye for what «works» truly sets her apart.
I have and will continue to have dozens of compliments from guests and oohs and ahhs at dinner parties because of their wonderful work. I plan to have Rachael and her team do more work for me in the future and will recommend their work to friends and family… and Unilocalers.

Rachel and her team created roman shades for most of the windows in our house, including some very large bedroom and living room frames. We got quotes from several other budget blind shops and a few boutique blind vendors, but Rachel had them beat on quality of materials and workmanship. Prices were in the mid-​range, but I feel that the quality of materials and stitching used justifies the big spend.
Rachel has a keen eye for colors and fabrics that will work, and isn’t afraid to voice her opinion without drowning out your own instincts. After all, who ends up looking at the blinds day and night eh?
Rachel’s team measured very accurately and put up temporary blinds on all our windows while the window treatments were being made. After a few weeks, all the work was done and the install went smoothly. We’re extremely happy with our shades, they accent the fairly limited character in our house, and just look very clean and modern on the windows.
I only give 5 stars to works of genius like Ulysses or Waiting for Godot, but I would highly recommend Rachel and her team at Stitch for your window covering needs. Top notch.

Rachael did an Amazing job on our window coverings for 4 huge bay windows in our new place. I enjoyed working with her on ideas to bring our rooms to life with custom window coverings. She is very creative and look forward to working with her in the future. Her ideas were great and love the end result. We went away for vacation and came home to beautiful new blinds, curtains and pillows for the bedroom.
Rachael is a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her and her team!

My experiene with Stitch has been Heaven. Our first meeting i was blown away with their professionalism. They showed up with fabric books, samples, rod samples everything. They made my decision making so easy. Their customer service was impeccable. They answered the phone every time i called and returned every emails.
The install was not only quick but clean too.
