Stop Sign

This is a stellar stop sign business. This stop sign has the typical pleasing shape and color. It can clearly be seen. It is about 3 seconds from the light at Market and 18^th.
I stop at this stop sign at least several times a week. You could say I patronize this business on a regular basis. I think of this as my own personal stop sign despite the fact that I dont get revenue from it. The city does… often. From me.
Me: What seems to be the problem officer? (like I dont know… been down this road before)
Officer (generally a motorcycle cop): License and registration bla bla bla
Me: Is this about the stop sign?
Officer: Are you aware that there’s a stop sign at Danvers?
Me: Oh yes. Very aware.
Officer: Do you know what a California stop is?
Me: Oh yes.
Officer: Do you remember the California stop you made at that stop sign?
Me: Not really.
Officer: You dont seem surprised.
Me: Oh no. I try to remember to count 3 seconds at that stop sign as this will not be the first ticket I’ve received here. I always seem to get them toward the end of the month.
Officer (sort of sheepish): Uhm, are you aware that you can do traffic school?
Me: Oh yes. I like the online ones the best.
Officer (handing me ticket): Have a nice day.
Customer service with a smile. City revenues go up. I support my community with that stop sign. It’s a great little business.
