Streets of San Francisco NYE 2011 with Steve Aoki

Too old to show up everytime I check for NYE SF

Alright. Now that I’ve had proper time to recover, I’ll try to fill in the details.
The New Year definitely started off with a bang! A huge beat slap’n, dub step’n, house anthem rock’n, fist pumping BANG! This years Fort Mason NYE event was themed The Streets of San Francisco. No they didn’t decorate the pavilion with trash and homeless people. Each section was decorated like a different era of San Francisco’s history. The Fort Mason Pavilion is a huge expo center occupying a large hanger of some sorts, which was perfect as this event sold out! Thousands of party goers flooded the stages and dance floors as we approached the new year.
Huge props to Aaron Axelsen for drop’n a sick set and hooking me up with tickets to the bash which allowed me to get free VIP upgrade and get right next to the main stage. The Designer Deejays rocked house with huge sets as well, but it was Mr. Steve Aoki who brought down the ball so to speak allowing us all to ring in the new year proper style! Aoki threw up a massive demonstration of how to throw a NYE party with awesome mixes, and threw down on the mic, all during a 2 hour set! I especially loved the Skrillex remix he did of «Scary Monsters and nice Sprites». Basically a jaw dropping set, one for the ages. Did I mention the party had an all you can drink hosted bar? Yea, we were doing really well by the time that clock hit 00:00!
One thing is for sure, if I don’t win tickets to the event next year, I’m going to get the VIP upgrade ticket as the place was packed, and maneuvering through the masses outside the VIP area was trying as the night went on. But it was all in good fun. I’m counting the days till next year’s blow out!

Epic night… San Francisco on a whole new level. The future is bright :)
