I was looking for an engagement ring for a couple months. I had figured out what kind of color, diamond and design. I found a location in NY and was planning on going with that store however I ended up moving to Fresno, CA. Once in Fresno, I decided to check out some jewelry stores and turned to Unilocal for help. Suetake Bros were one of the first ones so I e-mailed them asking them a quote for the ring I had in mind. Akira called me back and we talked for a bit. He was the most pleasant one out of the multiple jewelry stores I called so I decided to make the drive up to SF. After about 6 hours of driving due to traffic and that darn evil toll bridge I finally made it. Akira was so friendly and welcoming. I was actually late for our appointment and Akira was so nice about. He was more shocked that I woke up so early in the morning for the drive. From the very beginning, Akira wanted to know if the choices I made for the ring were mind or my future fiancée. He stressed that what was most important was what she wanted. You could tell that he really wanted to make a ring that would make my GF happy and I really appreciated that. Luckily, I knew that she wanted cushion diamond with rose gold which helped with the whole process. He had prepared multiple cushion diamonds for me to view. I instantly fell in love with one of the diamonds. The way it sparkled and the shape was perfect. Diamond… check Next, I showed him the design that I was thinking of. He started to draw out the design and talked to me about it. He asked what was her ring size and after telling him, he suggested that another ring design would be better since the design I choose would overwhelm her small finger based on his experience. However, he said that if it was what she wanted he would make it work. After talking some more and getting a feel on what my GF liked he ended up showing me another designs which I really like. I told him that I wanted to take some time to think about the design. He didn’t try to push me to buy anything or try to sell me on anything which I appreciated. 1 week later I decided to go with him and the design he showed me. Design… check. Three weeks later, my ring was done and I made another trip up to SF to pick it up. This time it only took me 4 hours. I was so nervous, when I came in. Akira and I talked some more and he finally showed me the ring. WOW is all I could say. The way it looked, how all the diamonds fit together, the weight and feel of the ring was amazing. I took pictures and sent it to couple of friends and they all said the same thing WOW. When I finally proposed to my GF she had the same reaction… WOW. She absolutely loves her ring and thinks that it is the most perfect ring ever for her. I’m so glad I decided to go with Suetake bros. From the customer service to the craftsmanship of the ring everything was truly spectacular.

My experience with Akira from Suetake Bros. was better than I could have hoped for. I was very unsure about how to go about buying an engagement ring, but I found Suetake Bros on Unilocal and thought it looked like exactly what wanted. They take a handcrafted approach that I was looking for. Akira was very helpful through the whole process. Some reviews mentioned they were unsure about the process or price, but this was not the case for me. If you have questions, just ask. I found Akira to be very open and helpful and extremely accommodating to my unfamiliarity with the process. Akira created a custom engagement ring in a very unique style blending both Art Deco and Art Nouveau styles with a beautiful antique cut stone. Akira made sketches to illustrate how he understood our description of the ring and set off to create it. The ring came out better than I even hoped for and my fiancée loved it. I highly recommend Akira at Suetake Bros.

Our forever jeweler. My husband(fiancé at time) went through my Pinterest(secretly) and printed out a bunch of photos of rings that I pinned and brought it to Akira. Akira helped him choose the most brilliant diamond and designed the most beautiful ring. I was so surprised and couldn’t say no of course ;) When we got the wedding bands made, we had to go back to Akira. His shop is no frills no nonsense. There isn’t s bunch of shiny rings to look at. There’s very few examples so definitely come with pictures of what you want. I actually really like the bare shop because I know he makes everything custom and doesn’t waste time or energy on anything else but perfection for his clients. He’s very friendly and easy to talk to. He knows what he’s doing and has no problem telling you if your idea is ugly or stupid and I really appreciate that(and in a way that is very nice especially to a crazy bride to be like myself lol). For example, he’s not gonna put mini diamonds in a place that will weaken the structure of the main diamond. He’s not willing to sacrifice the quality of his work just to make a sale, but what you buy from him is quality that will be a family heirloom. We decided NOT to buy a tiffanys ring because Akira’s rings are better quality and half the price. Akira is willing to work with any budget and give you amazing quality. We’ll be coming back for all our jewelry for sure!
