This place had a lot of friends who would write reviews for them, just not enough customers. This place was empty every night.

I like this place. Really amazing staff. ;) The perfect match is delicious. Especially on sunny Saturday afternoons or any Saturday would be good too! Try it.

It’s ok. Seriously, that’s what I got from coming here. Granted it’s always empty here, and there are no listed prices abound. I believe this place is also Cash Only as well. It doesn’t stand out, but maybe it’s not supposed to. Who knows? Hopefully the next time I’m here, it will have established a sense of identity.

Finally decided to give this place a chance and try their crepes with the boyfriend. I always loved the snack selection they have but just today I decided to try the crêpe. I ordered the«Perfect Match» crêpe on their Menu(banana+strawberry+nutella+whip cream & I chose pistachio ice cream to go with it instead) the crêpe is a pretty big proportion with lots of fruits! The crêpe was crunchy at parts & soft at some which makes a perfect dessert. The staff work there was really friendly & attentive. Very clean too I saw her washed her hands after handling money before starting to make my crêpe. Overall this place is great so far but since they’re pretty new, I’ll come back to try things again to update my review in the future. Give it a chance if you still haven’t, it’ll surprise you!

I came here once after getting my nails done and bought some snacks. Try coming back twice with my boyfriend for the crepes and both times they were closed! Unilocal shows their hours and both times they were supposed to be open but weren’t. Giving up on this place :(

I agree with the reviews below. Every time I have been in here, it is always empty… There is always someone in the window on their laptop(whether it be the owner or his friends) I’ve been here twice and each time I’ve been here, the owner has made my crepes. Why I am giving this place 4 stars is because he doesn’t burn the crêpe like the other place down the street because I am a sucker for crepes. & yeah they do not post the prices on the wall.

1st warning: It was empty on a Saturday night. 2nd warning: No prices listed. I wish we had a better experience. Despite the visual warnings, we proceeded to ordering our crepes. I got my usual favorite: strawberry + banana + whip and the BF got a savory smoked salmon – for the record, BF ordered first. A man comes out and talks to the employee in mandarin – supposedly training her – I’m guessing she’s a newbie so I’ll cut her some slack. She starts cooking up my crêpe first, and adds the ingredients behind the counter. Folds and proceeds to stuff my crêpe in the paper shell… not just slightly stuff but pushes it with her fingers – cracking part of the crêpe skin. Hmm… I hope she washed her hands after handling the cash. She then proceeds to make the BF’s crêpe – same griddle – even though there was 2 and she could’ve started both at the same time to lessen the wait. Meanwhile, I take a few bites out of my crêpe. There was barely any fruit or whip. I wanted to like it but I ate more wayyy more crêpe skin in proportion to fruit, some of the crêpe skin had neither fruit or whip, so it was just plain crêpe skin. I usually like soft crêpe skins but this wasn’t cutting it. It was soft but it was crispy on some parts and it was thick. Not the best thing I’ve ate. Still I didn’t give up hope, maybe the BF“s crêpe would turn out better. I was wrong. After waiting for what seemed like pretty long(I was almost done with my crêpe but the BF didn’t have his yet). BF whispers«food contamination» and gives me that look. I gave him the confused look but figured we’ll talk when we get back to the car since there weren’t any seats in the store anyway. He gets his crêpe, we go outside, he takes a few bites and says… gross. Apparently they overcooked the salmon and it was no longer«smoked» salmon – it had this very fishy and not fresh smell to it that I wish I didn’t try. To top it off, he proceeded to tell me that while I was attempting to indulge in my crêpe in the store, he saw that the way the employee handled the fish – there was definitely cross food contamination. Well, I was busy indulging my crêpe because I didn’t want to look at the man who was standing behind the employee – we both agreed that he was kinda creepy and gave off this cold aura. I’d much rather make the longer trek out to Crêpe Temptations out at Judah because the quality of the crêpe is wayyyyyy better. If I’ve ever near Taraval again, I’ll try the other crêpe place down the street.

My favorite crepes have to be from Genki on Clement but Sumosan is just down the street for me and easy when I have craving. Great place! Can’t wait to see what the new expanded menu will look like. Very friendly staff that works there. Always wanting to hear your opinion about the crepes so they can do what they can to make them better. Once the expanded menu is out, I’m sure I’ll frequent Sumosan more often than Genki… so long as the prices stay decent. $ 5.25 for any combo so far sounds good to me.

I just went to Sumosan yesterday with a group of friends yesterday and i totally fell in love! xP The crepes here are really delicious, and the staff is really friendly too! While my friends and I were waiting for our crepes, i thought there’d be an awkward kind of atmosphere waiting because that’s how I felt when waiting for orders at other places. But in the end, the atmosphere was great! My friends and I talked and fooled around and little, and the staff didn’t even mind. Sometimes they laughed too. It was really fun! Once we got our crepes and had a taste, we were all very happy. We all agreed that this was one of the best crêpe places we’ve been to. OH! and there were not only crepes, but snacks and smoothies too. They gave out a sample of a strawberry banana smoothie, and must i say, it was really good. :) In all, I highly recommend this place. :D

Sumosan is about a good 30 minute walk for me. I walk there to release the guilt of getting some yummy crepes and snacks they offer. This store just opened so they are having promotional prices on their crepes. You can order any of their combo crepes or make your own creation crêpe for about $ 5. Also one of the employees there said they are installing a egg puff machine for their grand opening! I wanted to give five stars, but when I went a second time the owner and another employee were not very friendly and made me want to dash out as soon as I exchanged money for my crêpe. The owner was just staring at the employee, not talking or looking personable. But I’ll return for the crepes.

This place is not a must try. They are very cheap on the ice cream and doesn’t even really taste that good. They need to have some seats inside because there’s no way they can copy genkis. They don’t have prices up so it’s hard to tell how much you’re really going to be paying. I’m surprised this place hasn’t closed down yet.

I love Sumosan. Went there for the third time(and they only opened two — three weeks ago!) and it keeps getting better. They added another crêpe machine, so they go faster, and the owners are so friendly — they recognize us and greet us warmly every time we go in. The menu is set to expand to over 60 offerings when they do their grand opening next month, but for now, prices are still CHEAP! In fact, some of the crepes even dropped in price from $ 5. Can’t not like that! They’re open pretty late now, and once the grand opening takes place in August, it’s 1AM on Sat /Sun and midnight every other day. Perfect for night owls or post-Grandma’s Saloon /Shannon Arms /Dragon Lounge. I’m bringing people here left and right because they’re delicious, friendly, and could use a hand getting started. Go check ‘em out — you won’t regret it.

Went there tonight with my friend, and the service was superb. I almost felt as if the workers were too nice, which is a good thing =). The crepes are humongous and tasty; you will be satisfied. Currently, they’re having a grand opening special where any crêpe, even the customized ones, are $ 5, which is a good price since they are so generous. For me, it was extremely convenient because its literally next to the L stop at the KFC. And, it’s great the Sumosan is near plenty of other restaurants, dessert places, the park, and the library.

Soft Opening special all crêpe is $ 5. Ordered a vanilla ice cream and strawberry crêpe, loved how they were generous with the fresh strawberry. Texture of the crêpe was great too, if only there was a bit more flavoring in the crêpe batter, maybe vanilla extract or nutmeg? Than it would be a 5 Star crêpe. Also saw that they have some reasonably priced snacks.

While Taraval is a sleepy street by day, it comes alive at night thanks to the bars and Asian dessert spots. Sumosan is the new crêpe place that just opened yesterday. It’s currently in the«pre-opening» phase and crepes are a special promotional price of $ 5 each. They mostly have sweet crepes made with Double Rainbow ice cream, Nutella, and fresh fruit, but they also carry a few savory crepes. Design your own or choose from one of their specialty crepes. You can also get fruit drinks(with boba), ice cream and packaged Asian snacks(candy, cookies, crackers). Hobby Together used to carry similar snacks(HT went under) like Pocky, Hi Chew and Pretz. I found a 4.23 oz. bag of Choco Flake(love Choco Flake) for $ 1.99(no, it isn’t expired). That’s a steal. On , that bag sells for $ 4.50 and you still have to pay for shipping. I’m sure they’ll read this and raise the price but I’m still happy I snagged a bag for $ 1.99. * Tuna salad crêpe($ 5) with cheese, tuna salad and lettuce: The crêpe batter is sweet, eggy and tasty. The crêpe was on the thick side but I still liked it(good flavor, didn’t get soggy). The tuna salad was plain(tuna, Japanese mayo) but satisfying. Buy 7 and get 1 free with their«combo» card. You can get a stamp for buying $ 20 worth of products or a combo crêpe. Cash only.
