This place is a great value for what you pay. $ 40 for 1 hour? Awesome. The masseuses all know what they’re doing for the most part. Have I had better? Yes, but you can’t beat the price especially if you’re on a low budget. Before they start you just have to tell them what you want(soft, firm, Thai, focus on shoulders, etc.) and they are pretty responsive to feedback. In general, their English could be a bit better. Carol is my favorite, but everyone is good. I’ve gotten massages from Amy and the male masseuse(I forget his name), who is really good if you like Thai style because he is strong! Only things I’d improve are keeping it quieter in the place by having the door closed. Call in advance to get a good room, but either way they are really good about walkins too. Definitely recommend!

WTTTTTTTTFFFFFFFFFFFF… that’s still going through my head as I left Sunny Spa 1.5 hours ago. Let me give you a quick breakdown of why I feel the way I do. Pros: — Cheap, dirt cheap Asian prices — Parking is pretty easy — clean Now… Cons: — I had the«closet» next to the entrance which doesn’t have a door… just a screen and curtain — The receptionist is also my masseuse… okay… — After 3 mins of my massage starting(literally rubbing my body under a towel) the phone rings and she had to leave to pick it up! Yes, she LEFT! Never had I had my masseuse leave during a massage unless it was to get towels if it wasn’t already in the room. — In this particular sectioned off massage room you hear EVERYTHING from the street… buses, kids, gang members, the whole thing. — After another 15 mins someone walks in(you know because there’s a bell on the door and of course I heard it constantly) and guess what SHELEAVESAGAIN!!! — pressure was consistently too hard and I had reminded her numerous times I wanted light pressure. I had to occasionally squirm until she realized she was too rough — They heat their hot stones in a buffet style heating pan and thus she kept dripping hot water on me while she was trying to dry the stones — I nearly got 3rd degree burns from certain stones and at one point I jumped off the bed when it was burning hot. — I hear people paying and the other masseuses asking them to pay in cash(even though they accept credit) and I got this from my masseuse too. — I wanted to pay on card but my masseuse kept trying t push me to pay cash(which I have enough for but wanted to put it all on my card) ended up paying cash and now I needed change for a tip. I asked her for some ones(to go with my other bills) and she barely had any and instead asked me how much I was going to give her so she can see how we can make this work which is so rude since it made me feel uncomfortable to tell her I’m just giving 15%… Honestly, I know this is a cheap Asian massage place but still… I rather go to my other Asian massage place on 4th and Geary!

Great cheap spot in the Outer Rich. It definitely is a bare bones type of massage place; don’t come in here expecting high class amenities. There are curtains separating the clients, and you can pretty much hear everything that is going on throughout the large room. For 40 $ an hour though, it’s a good deal. My massage therapist was a male, and he did a wonderful job. I felt comfortable throughout the process and will be back soon.

Very inexperienced masseuses. I went in for a 90 min massage because the price was right. I left feeling like I wasted 90 min &60 $. I asked for more pressure 3 times and to focus on my shoulders, which I did not receive. They called me back & offered me a free 30 minute shoulder massage. Good service… But that ended up being a vigorous rub/shake down by the masseuses elbows. I was so anxious to leave during both of them and I didn’t get the benefit of deep tissue or a relaxing massage. I get massages regularly and I’ll pay a little extra & stick with successful shiatsu, Wendy, & balance Thai.

I’ve only been here twice, but i’m a fan! If you’re looking for an absolute professional massage spa, this isn’t the place, but for it’s price. It does the damn job! It’s clean, a very calm environment only thing that bothered me is that they don’t have someone working the front desk while they are giving massages, so they are constantly in and out of the room. Otherwise, if you’re exhausted, looking for a quick relaxing escape in your neighborhood, I would definitely try this place out.

I don’t mind the curtain walls anymore, the rooms are perfect, clean and the best is that these two ladies know their work and they are good with clients.

If you are looking for a great massage, please do yourself a favor and pass this place up! I live in the neighborhood and thought I’d give them a try. I’m a big fan of Balance Thai on Geary but they no longer offer their 20% off discount, so I was enticed by the price and location of Sunny Spa. It is clean and inviting. The music was soothing and relaxing, but I had the worst massage ever. I signed up for an hour and I couldn’t wait for it to be over. The masseuse, if you could call her that, just rubbed my skin and despite my multiple requests for more pressure, she just kept rubbing my skin lightly. I kept hoping she would improve her technique, but I seriously doubt she knew what she was doing. The owner/manager asked me how I felt at the end while my masseuse was standing by. I told her it was just okay and proceeded to tip accordingly at 15%. She then turned around and insisted that I tip 20%!!! Unbelievable!!! I am not one for confrontations, so I paid and left more achy, stressed and tense than when I went in. I need a real massage now!

I would really recommend this place. Shirley was my masseuse and she was incredible. She was very professional and made sure to ask me exactly what I was looking for. Also, the prices are incredibly reasonable! I will be back.

Pros: — clean and stylish massage parlor — pleasant background music Cons: — NOT a good deep tissue place. I scheduled a two hour appointment and left feeling like no work was done. The woman I has basically just touched me(which felt good) but she did not get down to the nooks and crannies. If you want an even cheaper deep tissue spot, walk up one block and visit Wendy, she will take care of you! — Constantly walking out to answer phones and greet customers(I understand this is a business, but I counted up to 10 times during my 2 hours, a bit excessive) Bottom line: I’m sticking with Wendy up the street.

This review is a little overdue, but I had a great experience at Sunny Spa. My fiancé booked a surprise massage for my birthday and it was perfect! It’s not a fancy spa, but if you’ve had a stressful week and just a hour escape, this is the place to go. Since its only curtains separating the rooms, I was nervous at first, but a few minutes into the massage I completely forgot and was lost in my relaxing massage. Will definitely be returning! Convenient location and great hours! I wish the music was just a little louder since you can hear people talking sometimes at the front desk. Still worth it though!

Great massage in the style mixture of Swedish, pressure points and lymph node pressure points, face and head massage, legs and feet, body all over for one hour for $ 40! This might be the opening special price but it was one of the best massages I’ve got recently. Nice to just go across the street from work :-)
