With Baladi and 4 other Mediteranean places within a couple of blocks, this is turning into the Falafel zone. Sunrise wins on best actual Falafel in the area. I usually just get their basic Falafel sandwich which is great and healthy. They usually have Falafel samples by the register so if you’re in doubt just taste one.

Fresh, clean and and one of the better felafels in San Francisco, I’ll be back. Service is great and the price is right for the location. There is a basement that is separate from the storefront that does offer seating although extremely sterile and underground but at least your out of the fog.

Wow — I may have found my falafel nirvana! My mgr & I share a luv for all things falafel & when this place opened up last week, he told me I *had* to come here Putting it off & putting it off, he had finally had enough & actually brought me a single falafel on his way back from lunch &BOY what I’ve been missing! Crispy & crunchy on the outside, soft & I dare say doughy on the inside — super moist & eating it completely plain, I found nothing lacking. It’s super-flavorful & has the perfect hint of spicy kick Next day went over to get their Regular Sandwich & it was as consistently fantastic as the day before. Tons of cool, crisp lettuce, nice bloop of hummus & tahini, pita was tender & there was falafel in every bite — not stingy on the falafel patties. Perfection! Next time will def have to try the Lavash Wrap! And the Avocado Falafel is SO next on my list — yum! TONS of FREE falafel samples at the counter to help bide the drooling masses as we wait on our orders Staff was super friendly & the line flowed smoothly. It’s a small place so while it may seem like a cluster, there is a method to the madness. I found both portions & prices on par w/the surrounding shops — you’ll get full that’s for sure & not break the bank Plus, they have downstairs seating!!!

Sunrise Deli. How do I sum up my experience here? Way over-priced for a minuscule portion. They botched my order(twice) and the food tastes like ass — I kid you not. On top of that their ordering ‘system’ and line is a cluster and they’re not very friendly. One star is way too generous for this place that took over the old Best-O-Burger spot at Belden and Pine. They claim to have the best felafel in town — I think not. It’s an over-spiced grease sponge. I will never, ever, ever go back. You want good middle-eastern food? Hit up Baladie right around the corner. They have been consistent for years and they provide excellent food for reasonable prices. Fail, fail, fail.

Great newly remodeled space! Falafel fried to order and delicious. Also liked today’s daily special. A tasty addition to the Financial District and apt to give other local middle-eastern places a run.
