I ordered the Super Falafel Sandwich(spicy). It tasted good, but it was COLD.

I need to rectify the bad reviews on here. NEEDTO. Ok, Ok, so I’m sure everything everyone said is valid and I’m only speaking from a catering standpoint(i ordered through EZ Cater), BUTOHMYLORDIT’S GOOD. SOGOOD. Best Falafel of my lifetime. Meat platter so flavorful. I got major kudos for ordering from them, and will continue to do so. It’s insanely good. So maybe they are hit and miss, but when they hit — OMGSOINSANELYGOOD.

Went there for a late lunch. The shawarma was cold. It’s not like they were busy and didn’t have time to heat it up. They take no pride in their food. Give this place a miss.

Got the lamb Schwarma plate. Total waste of money. $ 15 for maybe a $ 6 portion. Go to oasis grill. Way better.

Small Mediterranean place that isn’t the fastest place ever either. Had to wait around 10 minutes even though there weren’t many people in front of me. Probably like 5 people. I got the chicken shawarma which comes with Marinated Chicken Breast with Lemon and Garlic, with Hummus, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Tahini Sauce, served in a pita bread. First of all, the portions were really small and it was like super thin. Compared to my coworkers who both got felafels which were bigger and seemed more filling made me question this place. Also it was $ 10 so the value really wasn’t there for me. The chicken was dry and the tahini sauce was very sour which I didn’t like at all. I was expecting more of a savoury and saltier taste rather than this sour pickly flavoured shawarma. I wouldn’t come back. Also the service people were kind of rude because I thought they gave my meal to my coworker but I messed up and admitted I was wrong but they made a big deal about it for no reason…

The food was served cold. I ordered chicken sharwarma and my friend ordered kabob both were cold. No taste. chicken was not freashly cooked. If u r a sharwarma lover dnt go here ever. Owner n workers were rude as hell. And no garlic sauce at a middle estern restaurant is unheard of. Worst experience ever.

Stale pita bread. Cold rice. Raw chicken. Nothing redeeming about this place. I would vote this the worst of the worst, but JUHU Beach Club served up the same kind of food except charged an arm and a soggy chicken leg.

$ 13 for three«pucks» called kabobs, that in my 3 minute walk back to my office were cold when I got there. I mean literally its a puck of meat, Absolutely disgusting, with so many options in SF trust me, pass this one up and go anywhere else… I do mean anywhere. Don’t get me started with the pita… if you can call it a pita. Dry, crusty and barely edible. Whomever thinks they have the«best» middle eastern food clearly is confused…

Seems there’s a lot of haters here. I went to the food truck on Mission between Fremont and 1st. I’m not sure if this is the same place but a search for the food truck only turned up one in the Avenues. Perusing the menus I can see this is the same deal and I know it must be run by the same people, so here goes. Fortunately I found the food truck towards the end of lunch. The crowd had disappeared. For some reason though, even though there was only one guy waiting for his food, we both waited for at least 20 minutes for our food. A true WTF moment. After I got my food(standard chicken plate with hummus and cucumber salad) I walked off to sit down, only to discover they forgot to include my falafels. I walked back and fortunately one of the staffers was in a jovial mood and wanted to give me more than I ordered, possibly because they were done for the day and closing. So, he gave me 6 falafels, 3 more than I paid for, along with an extra side of hummus. Bonus. The food was, I have to say, excellent. It was definitely of food truck calibre, I thought. The hummus was too watery but it had a good creaminess and was not overly garlicky. The falafel was, as others have stated, the best. Crunchy non oily goodness. Slathered with hummus it is divine. The chicken was very tasty. Not necessarily best I’ve had but not bad at all. The cucumber and tomato salad was fresh and satisfying. All in all if I didn’t have the annoying wait and forgotten falafels this might be a 5 star deal.

One of the many Mediterranean restaurants in the area. I always order their Super Falafel as their falafel are the best. They are crispy, oil-less and delicious. The quantity of food is enough for lunch. Priced at par to other middle eastern restaurants in the area. I took a star off as sometimes there’s a wait for placing an order because the cashier moves to making the order instead of placing it. Maybe they run the place with low staff.

Ordered the Beef/Lamb Shawarma Plate. For $ 13, it’s not worth it IMO. Meat that’s been pre-prepared and sitting out waiting to serve is not the way to earn repeat business. Always make the meat to order so it’s hot. Care about the taste. My dish was all cold. There’s many other destinations that care more about the way they serve food and still give you a better value. Find it and forget it.

I know Sunrise deli has tasty food, and if you go when it’s busy then you’ll have a good time I’m sure. I tried to go here today, around 3:30 — 3:50 and saw the sign said Open, so I walked in to find out it was really closed. Just like their location in the outer sunset, they tend to close early, so you can’t really expect them to be open which is a bummer.

I ate from their truck and it was awful. I had the chicken shawarma and it was edible because I was starving but still couldn’t finish it and would never eat it again. We also got the chicken kabob plate — hummus gross, rice and lentil undercooked, and the chicken just not tasty. I will never eat there again. Ended up throwing away an uneaten plate.

I just purchased a lamb shawerma and it was nasty… the meat looks like it was grounded not cut(like before) on giant meat grill and it was cold and lettuce was kinda brownish… it was total waste $ 8…not recommended.

I hate writing bad reviews, especially when they do have good customer service(hence the additional star). I got the lamb schwarma and it’s just so bad. The lamb is dry and chewy, I had to spit some out. The pita is cold and tastes like it’s from a bag. Maybe I came too late(after lunch rush) and I got the bad leftovers but unfortunately that’s enough to make me not want to return :( Waste of $ 9.

Their hummus is extremely bland(no tahini?) and only one piece of dolma comes on the veggie plate.

I hate for my 300th review to be a one star, but I can’t help it. I have to say something about this particular Sunrise Deli. The worst lamb shawarma I’ve ever had… ever! The lamb was marinated in some weird salty mix and was so dry and a weird texture. I hated it! To make matters worse, the portion of veggies to meat in the shawarma itself were very disproportional — there were several bites in a row of only lamb with no veggies and several bites in a row of only veggies with no lamb(which I actually didn’t mind because the lamb was disgusting!). The shawarma was put together very haphazardly and fell apart in the middle. I waited 15 minutes for this, 15 minutes! I will never return to this Sunrise Deli and that’s why it deserves a one star in my books.

I’m always wary when businesses feel the need to toot their own horn… and Sunrise surely does that from their sign for serving the«best» middle eastern food since 1984. I always pass by this location but never had the urge to try it at least once, and thanks to the PayPal deal, I came here on a whim to at least give it a chance. Now, I’m no expert in middle eastern cuisine, but the most appealing item to me was the lamb gyro. The wait was relatively short, give or take 5 minutes and off I went. When you open the wrap, it looked soooo doggone appetizing, I was in for a treat! That is… until the first few bites. The lamb was overcooked, bland(even though they added a bunch of spices), and just tasted… well, plain. The portion was huge but it just did not appeal to my palette. Maybe it’s because middle eastern food is supposed to taste bland? I don’t know, but this place was unfortunately a miss in my book. The prices are reasonable in comparison to the other options around FiDi, but I won’t be scurrying back here anytime soon.

Their tabouli salad and falafels are addicting. I’ve also tried their wraps and its a big portion! Lunch will run you around $ 10 – 12 here. Fast service and right near my office. FYI– They have a PayPal deal for $ 5 off your purchase.
