When my son was 2, he knocked his front teeth in a playground and had some bleeding. I, first time mother back then, was freaked out and called the dentist office. The office was closed, but Dr. Fujino happened to be in the office. She let us come to the office and examined the little guy. She took an x-ray and everything was fine. I felt so lucky to have a dentist who are willing to help even on her off days! Also, when my son was 4, he had 8 cavities(I know, 8!!) Dr. Fujino was excellent treating him, and squeezing him into her busy schedule. Even after those not so fun visit to the dentist, my son never has been afraid to go to the dentist. yay!

(Dr. Fujino is in practice with Dr. Dorothy Pang…) Reading books to your preschooler about going to the dentist is FAR from the real thing. First, the actual dentist has PSPs in the waiting room and a PS2(or PS3, I really don’t know) in addition to, you know, the usual books and toys. Secondly, the actual dentist has tv screens mounted in the ceiling so that you can watch the movie of the month while your teeth are cleaned. Thirdly, there are kid-height sinks, not just standard-height sinks with stools for the kids to stand on. Perks and little details aside, the staff was very friendly with me and most importantly, very friendly and comforting with their little patient. We left with a clean bill of mouth health(which is always a good thing) and a little treat bag with a new toothbrush, «sparkle» toothpaste and a princess sticker! They really know how to «get» the kids! ;o)
