Interesting that two patients can have such opposite experiences with the same doc! I was a patient of Dr T for close to a year, as I recall, ending about 2 or 3 years ago. I had had a very serious illness that was treated by another, unrelated specialist doc. By the time I was cured, my body was trashed and I needed help understanding what was wrong and how to rebuild my health and wellbeing. Not sure where to go and having been unhappy with the indifference of many docs, I asked around for a doc who could help me rebuild my body and immune system, and Dr Tarcher was top of the list. In my experience, Dr Tarcher is a rare physician — a healer — who looks at the whole person and his/her situation, seeing the body as more than a battlefield between an illness and a cure. She understands and uses Western medicine, but builds a bridge to overall well-being by suggesting vitamins and supplements and foods to help rebuild the body and mind.(And no, she doesn’t sell vitamins — I don’t trust docs who do.) She is kindly and thoughtful and very interested in helping, not just in giving out orders like too many docs are. She has clearly spent many years searching for connections among health, good food, the right meds, and good nutrition and ‘lifestyle’(for lack of a better word). She is a healer, and she helped me enormously. My appointments were an hour long, not the rushed 15 minutes you get elsewhere. (Note: She doesn’t take insurance, but you can put in for reimbursement through your insurance company.)

This is a horrible doctor. After keeping me waiting for 30 minutes because she was running late, she vanished again because she needed to take a phone call. Once she returned she gave me «the bum’s rush» and misdiagnosed walking pneumonia for allergies! Her exam was hasty and she was arrogant and condescending«I just don’t know if you’ll be able to manage if you get this again.» HUH? Then she tells me that her dog is locked in her car in the parking garage. Horrible!
