Japanese to go! A family owned and operated lunch stop in Rincon Center. The«family owned and operated» part is very important to me personally, but that would not matter id the food was not good. Their udans and teriyaki dishes are all good. I have also tried their rolls and nigiri sushi a few times; again all good.

I give them full points to their teriyaki chicken. They serve a huge portion of chicken with some rice and salad. I really love their salad dressing. And it goes well with the teriyaki chicken.

Tried the teriyaki chicken and tempura bento here. It comes with a large portion of teriyaki chicken, small quantity of rice, salad, one shrimp tempura, and some veggies tempura. Some how I did not like the proportions. Rice was in small quantity, chicken was too much, misses all quality of a Japanese Bento box.

Love this place, it’s super convenienct and it’s right downstairs from my work. I usually get the Tempura Roll and a Miso soup, costs about $ 10.

First time I came here I had the Fish Katsu. The fish was kind of dry. They gave some weird katsu sauce that was thick like jello. Not worth the price. Had the California Lover. $ 128 pieces. Tasted fine but 1 hour later, I was saying hi to the bathroom. Very unpleasant experience. Won’t be coming back here unless there is absolutely nothing else to eat at the food court…

Hmm… i thought the beef terriyaki was mediocre. It was $ 11.91 after tax. Came with a slice of orange and one piece of broccoli and a cup of miso soup(i swapped the salad for a soup). anyway long story short. I got violently ill about 20 – 30 minutes later.

1 Market is kind of a zoo as far as office building food courts in the area. Lines during rush hour are way long. Teriyaki Express does your typical Japanese lunch plates, and they do a fairly low-effort, bland version of it. I got a teriyaki chicken plate, and while the meat portions were decently sized, there’s not much to say about quality — it wasn’t fresh, it was cooked way too dry, and the teriyaki sauced they soaked it in to compensate for that was the over-sugared, syrupy variety. Realistically though, I’ve eaten at a couple of 1 Market places and the other options are pretty bad too. I’d look outside the building for lunch, but if for some reason you’re REALLY in a time crunch and just need to grab anything, they have some $ 4.50 boxes of pre-made California roll that I can’t imagine will be THAT bad. Come here: don’t come here, it’s 2 stars.

Short Story: An okay place for Japanese if you want to try food court meals. Long Story: I came here for lunch as I work nearby and the place is inside the Landmark Building. There are plenty of places to eat such as Thai, pizza, subs/sandwiches, burritos, etc. I chose this place because I was curious. The prices are okay, a bit on the pricey side and the food is pretty average. I have only tried the OSHA Express and that place is a bit better and about the same price. I can’t knock on this place too much since you really don’t expect too much out of a food court places anyways. Verdict: I’ll probably come back as it is convenient to my work place.

Of all the stalls in 1 market, I think this is the one I like the most. I usually have the salmon terriyaki here, and it’s decent but you’ll have to pay close to $ 10. They also have good sushis but they are expensive(around $ 13) for the good ones(dragon, etc…). The chef will make it on the spot for you. I also sometimes have Katsu(pork cutlets) if I feel like fried food. The quality of my Katsu will greatly vary. Most of the time, it’s overcooked. It feels dry, and thank god they have some sauce… Anyways, don’t get me wrong, if I had time to eat somewhere else, I would, but sometimes, I have little time at lunch, so of all the restaurants at 1 market, that’s probably one of the best choices…

This just happened to me. There is NO excuse for having baby shrimps in your vegetarian udon! I cannot believe this happened — even after I specifically double-checkd about the ingredients — there was no line of customers — I was served after others since it had to be made fresh(thank you) My record of 27 years of being a vegetarian was broken today. :(What is even more disappointing is that I saw those baby shrimp looking things. They got killed and boiled in my dish!!! Ugh. shame on you Teriyaki Express for not picking up my phone(Tried you 5 times already).

The food here is actually good for food court standards. It’s my go-to spot for a quick lunch when I don’t feel like venturing outside the building, and I’d even prefer it to the popular OSHA Thai Express. It’s cheaper, lighter, and has better variety of items. I most regularly get the tempura udon, which comes out really hot and is perfect on cold weather days. The tempura it’s served with is crispy, fresh, and fluffy – I’m actually very impressed because the tempura here is better than the ones at some sit-down Japanese restaurants. The teriyaki plates here are served with a generous portion of meat and rice, and they come with a nice side salad as well. My complain about these is that they put way too much teriyaki sauce on the meat, so the meal gets a little salty midway through. I’ve tried a few of their sushi rolls(and they offer quite a variety), and I don’t really have any complaints about any of them, except maybe the price. For that reason, I typically stick to udon or a smaller roll, like the salmon roll for $ 5. Overall, this place is affordable, convenient, and satisfying. I’d definitely recommend it over any of the other options within that food court.

The best value in an aberration of an SF food court. Osha Thai may have better tasting food but is pretty overpriced. For more choices, head across the street to Rincon center’s food court. The chicken donburi and chicken bi bim bap are my go-to dishes. If your order includes a soup or salad, they’ll let you exchange one for the other. Another tip, if you get the bi bim bap, get the sauce on the side, because they usually put too much.

A good place to stop in for a quick bit if you’re in the area. I wanted something light, so went with the combo roll option — tekka maki, california roll and salmon roll. Yep, I’m boring! It came with a delicious cup of miso soup, for the price of a hair under ten dollars. The tuna was fresh, the crab in the california roll was fake(I should’ve known better) and the salmon was pretty good. Generous portions, fantastic fresh ginger — what’s not to like? Try it out and give these nice people your business.

This was my go to restaurant for lunch the first few months I started working in 1 Market Plaza. Not only is it under $ 10 for Bento Lunches, the service is fast and most orders comes with delicious Japanese sauce sprinkled over some lettuce, as is standard in many higher class sit down Japanese restaurants. The quality of the meat probably isn’t the best, considering the low price, but you get what you pay for and at the price, decent taste, and convenience, overall I’d say it’s worth it. As long as you don’t mind putting some(probably) lower quality meat into the pristine sanctuary that is your body. As for the sushi, it is more standardly priced. Pretty much $ 12 for any type of standard roll. The quality is not bad, and you get to watch a semi-old Asian man with glasses make the sushi in front of you. It is actually quite mesmerizing whenever I gaze at him engaging in his fine, delicate work. I’ve tried most of the(non-sushi) menu(because I’m cheap and want to spend less than $ 10) and here are my suggestions: 1) Chicken Teriyaki is the most common item ordered I believe, and as such, it is prepared super fast, tastes good, but the meat is definitely so-so. 2) Beef Teriyaki is really good. I love it. The beef is so finely cut and tender and is just like a ball of deliciousness. And you get a good amount of beef too I love it. 3) Salmon Teriyaki is good when you want to mix things up. The salmon itself tastes good and I think the quality is okay, but the quantity is less than the other meats. It is a thin slice of salmon that is slightly bigger than the size of my clenched fist. 4) Getting the Bento version is $ 1 more for 4 or 5 pieces of tempura. If you want some greasy goodness, might as well pay the 11.17% more to get the Bento over the Meat only version. 5) The Bibimbap is not so hot. They load up on all these random veggies and it just ends up tasting weird. It looks so good, but then when I’ve tried it the flavor is just off and I end up digging for the meat like I’m a freaking scavenger. It makes me feel really Asian but seriously there’s like no meat! 6) Ton Katsu is acceptable. The way its made isn’t as good as some other places, but it’ll still quench your thirst for breaded pork cutlets(assuming you are pro and drench the pieces in the sauce provided). 7) Fish(Snapper?) Katsu is really dry. I wouldn’t recommend this one. 8) You can ask to substitute any of the rice, soup, or salad with each other. I really really like the salad, except for the lone, hard, carrot slice they give as part of it, so if I’m not feeling the carbs of the rice, I’ll ask to get double the salad instead. Rock on. Ah yes, I did say that it «was» my go to restaurant, and for you literature enthusiasts who have eagle eyes and [insert really smart animal] brains, you might be wondering why I used the past tense. Well let me tell you. It is because I have evolved, not because the restaurant has changed, so no worries there. I now require more exotic foods for sustenance, and as such, I am being forced to venture into the wilderness outside of the 1 Market Food Court to find these foods. It involves braving the piercing sunlight and the gusting winds and actually walking more than 1 minute, but the unexpected adventures are the ones that we can learn the most from. Just look at Bilbo. In his Unexpected Journey last year, we saw him turn from scared little hobbit making his own food(my goodness!) into a hobbit munching on wild boars with the dwarves. I know, it definitely is a perfect analogy.

Most of the lunch combos cost about $ 10 after tax(w/o drink), but it is somewhat balanced by the fact that they give you so much food it’s closer to «dinner plate» sizes. Chicken Katsu — Meh at best. Served straight-up plain with generic soy dipping sauce on the side. Good amount of chicken, but dark meat. Small bed of cabbage, scoop of plain white rice, handful of inedible steamed edamame. Side salad of iceberg lettuce and a few carrot shreds absolutely drowned in Thousand Island. Chicken Yaki Noodle(Yakisoba) — Surprisingly great! Very generous portion that didn’t scrimp on the teriyaki chicken either, side of a rather large cup of miso soup. Same handful of inedible edamame too, but politely hidden under mountain of tasty soba, chicken and veggies. Will remember this when I’m in the area and have skipped breakfast. What I extrapolate from these two lunches — avoid fried stuff here, but the teriyaki chicken/soba noodles in anything is good.

Undeceive for lunch, as always, this location seemed more appealing than the rest of the restaurants near by. I ordered the 2 item lunch special chicken Teriyaki & tempura, came with the salad. This must have been the best Teriyaki chicken i have had. Other places i usually go to i tend to get the katsu only because the Teriyaki isnt so good. I was very satisfied with my experience here. The cashier was very sweet and helpful when i could not make up my mind.

This place is good if you work in the area and need a quick lunch. The line is not too bad during peak lunch times. I had the spicy chicken and it was average at best. There was too much sauce and it overtook the dish. The portions are decent sized. If you have the time, go elsewhere or to the Ferry Terminal Building.

I came here to rotate my food court options — and was disappointed. Paid $ 8 for a teriyaki chicken dish was chicken, rice, and a few pieces of edemame. I was hoping there was some kind of veggie in there like broccoli… nope. Skip and go for a rice bowl at 360 Burritos instead.

A-Okay! Best value priced Japanese shop, for the hungry FiDi office worker. This place is 15 years old now, owned by the same old Korean couple. It’s located in the Bayside Cuisines food court at 1 Market Plaza. I often order the salmon teriyaki(thin cut, very moist and tender). The bento version adds tempura. Everything else is just okay. Large portions, u get a lot of rice. Hours: M-F 11am-3pm

I come here only because I work near by. I’ve had the saba Teriyaki, salmon Teriyaki, spicy chicken, udon, and some sushi. The bento boxes are pretty good sized with a side of rice, salad, and Edamame. It’s pretty standard quick Japanese food. As for the sushi, I don’t recommend eating any of the raw stuff since I don’t think they use grade a or even b sashimi. The quality of the sashimi is definitely sub par but the california rolls or other cooked rolls aren’t bad.
