Sorry guys but my experience here was quite poor. I found the food to be terrible — extremely salty and generally a homogenous mix of items that all tasted relatively the same. My breaking point was when I took a bite mid-meal and it tasted like soap :(Perhaps I just got a bad batch or caught the place on an off day. Regardless, I will not return. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly.

I love this place! I eat here way more than I should because the darn food is so addictive. Yes, it’s a fast-food restaurant but, like previous reviewers said, the food is very tasty. You go in, pick your 2 – 3 entrees, pay $ 7 – 8, and you get out — all in less than two minutes. The staff is super friendly and fast and I don’t have any complaints so far. Definitely one of my favorite spots!

Five bucks says I’m the only person to review this place who has spent a lot of time in Thailand based on what I’ve been reading… This is a great place to very quickly grab some excellent, clean and tasty Thai food. The quality of the meat is excellent and the varieties of curry is great. I’ve always been partial to green curry, but it’s nice to see red and yellow available.(I’ve only seen white curry in southern Thailand and Kho Samui. I’d love to see someone in the U.S. get their hands on some. Hint, hint…) You will be in and out in less than two minutes. The people who work here are incredibly nice and accomodating to special requests.

Not the best Thai Food but for what it is, you get a good enjoyable meal. I was constantly passing this place on my way to school and finally decided to go one day. I had the basil chicken with brown rice, which was good, The chicken was nicely cooked(not over or under, which is often a problem at cafeteria style places.) Went in a second time and got a spicy chicken dish(don’t know what it’s called) and again good, the right ratio of veggies to chicken. They advertise they have soup, but both times I went they didn’t so was disappointed. But all in for 6 – 7 bucks, it’s a good meal.

I got a suggestion from my coworker to try this thai place out and finally the day i get a longer lunch, i decided to hop over from work to see wassup it was lunch time, and of course, almost any place that’s delicious in the FiDi will be packed during lunch hour. Here: it was empty. The two nice girls working at the place seem bored and just had nothing to do. Ordered: white rice w/pad thai and basil beef normally, i would think pad thai is one separate dish when you order, but here it’s considered an entrée. alright sure, hopefully the basil beef is good! headed back to work, and now i understand why the place is empty. The pad thai was barely luke warm and the basil beef was just warm. the pad thai taste pretty bland and the chicken didnt seem like very good white breast meat. the basil beef had a really sweet taste to it, more onion-y taste than basil in my opinion. Their service is like any other fast food place. you get in and you leave, done. considering the HIGH quality of thai food you can find in san francisco, I can’t really rate this place higher than two stars in terms of the quality of food. Their service is like any other fast food place. you get in and you leave

Want a great deal on Thai food? Yeah, me too. I couldn’t believe it when I stumbled upon this tiny diamond in the rough walking around the Financial District today. I thought the six dollar lunch special was going to be something like Osha Grab & Go’s lunch box… NO It’s THREETIMES as much food. I wasn’t even able to eat it all. I got out of there under eight bucks and I kept begging my co-workers to help me eat it. Not only did they have one kind of curry but they had four! How am I supposed to choose?! It’s like a moral dilema. I’m cheating on green with red and having some yellow on the side. They also have all that other good stuff you want, and egg rolls. You can’t put egg rolls in front of my face and expect me not to eat them. It doesn’t make any sense. So, thank you Thai Corner Express. Thank you for existing.

On behalf of all my coworkers and myself, get the peanut tofu + rice. The delicate balance of sweet and nutty-ness in the sauce mixed in with the rice is so good. This is a small place where you pretty much go in and get out. All the food is already out and you have an option to order a 1 combo or 2 combo plate(or if they’re REALLY nice, may add an extra item on the house :)). The pad thai is only okay but considering the amount of time the noodles may have been sitting in the tray, there shouldn’t be a surprise as to why the noodles can be a bit soggy. It’s pretty much my go-to place whenever I have a craving for thai and need to get a quick, satisfying lunch.

Just wanted to have some pad thai. They kept on insisting that it comes with rice since it’s considered a «1 item» to choose. And I’m thinking they must be crazy to make me eat pad thai AND rice! Pad thai was alright. A bit on the sweet. Very boring. Barely any vegetables. Had 2 pieces of broccoli in there for color and nothing else, just noodles and greasy fried tofu. I still ended up paying for a 1-item meal though I declined the rice.

2nd time going and equally not impressed. This time I got the chicken yellow curry, chicken pad thai and brown rice. Both the curry and pad thai were too sweet, mildly spiced and didn’t have a lot of veggies. The curry had loads of large cut, uncooked onions(GROSS) and a handful of carrots and a SPLASH of chicken. The pad thai was just noodles, a little chicken and cooked cabbage. They don’t take the time to cut the little variety of veggies they put in their dishes. If you want FAST food, this is the place. At least their rice was ok. :/

Thai Corner Express offers a variety of Thai food at more than reasonable prices. I was craving some Thai food for lunch and thought this was the perfect opportunity to stop in. The smells of chicken and veggies brought me in and I ended up ordering a 1 combo plate($ 5.95) of the Thai Basil chicken with veggies and white rice. They also had Thai basil and beef, chicken curry, pad thai, steamed vegetables, and some other chicken dishes. The Thai basil chicken was warm, spicy and filling but I wish they gave me more vegetables — there was more chicken than anything. The sauce was great, though. I tried my boyfriend’s chicken curry and it was good but a little on the salty side. For the price, TCE is a good option but there are other Thai spots in the area that are better. Service was quick and the staff was kind. Overall, it’s a decent Thai food spot in the FiDi.

2⁄5 just skip it. i tried it twice in the past week as i’ve had cravings, but it was a consistent disappointment. the rice is dry and a little undercooked. the food is kinda sloppy, and may result in renal failure. jus sayin.

With a dozen offerings of Thai comfort food, TCE was just what I needed for a quick lunch fix. On the day I went, I counted 3 veggie, 1 beef, a pad thai and 7 chicken dishes of various curries and peanut sauces. White rice only(I wish they had brown.) Overall decent ~ my eggplant with tofu dish was oily. The Penang tofu curry was tasty. 1 Item = $ 6.45 2 Items = $ 7.50 3 Items = $ 8.00(includes tax) Next time I plan to go with 3 Items and save half for dinner. Quite a bargain in terms of variety for a quick Thai meal. The place has a nice vibe with friendly service, lots of natural light and a few seats along the wall. The neighboring Redwood Park is an oasis on the edge of the FiDi.

I was initially excited to find this place close to my office after moving from SOMA where there was the takeout counter at Koh Samui and The Monkey. Same style at That Corner but the flavors are blaaaand. It doesn’t even taste like there’s coconut milk in the curries. The Panang tofu is so watered down. It’s nice in a pinch, filling and all, but I can barely get over the lack of flavor.

I don’t like to give bad or mediocre reviews, I really don’t. But they’ve left me no choice. I went there at 11:30 to fulfill my hankering for Pad Thai. Despite being ahead of the lunch rush, the food looked like you’d expect it to look late in the afternoon; it sat in congealed blocks in their bins. Stupidly, I didn’t listen to that voice in my head saying, «smile politely and just walk away.» I ordered with not a small amount of trepidation, and watched her chop large lumps of noodles out of the bin. I should have walked out right then, but was determined – despite appearances – to give this place a chance. The noodles were mushy and stuck together in large blocks. There was hardly any chicken(four or five pieces). No fresh peanuts or green onions. The sauce tasted mainly of tomatoes. And I was still hungry – not to mention unsatisfied and a bit bitter – after I ate. It doesn’t compare to a real Thai restaurant, and not even to other Food Court Thai. For instance, the Thai place in Rincon Center is 1,000 times better than this place. I wouldn’t even say this is good for a «quick, and dirty» lunch. I’ve only said«congealed» once in this review, but that was my overwhelming impression of the food. So I’m going to say it again now: congealed. I know I sound like a dick, but it was really that bad.

the service is great, but the food isn’t. Chicken seems to be the only meat option. The pad thai tasted like noodles drowned in fish sauce. The container has no dividers, so there is no way to segregate flavors. I would not recommend– go to sapphire for better quality(and more) food for the same price.

(See pic) More of 3.4 stars. For $ 7.30, a small shop, I have the spicy basil with chicken, and eggplant with bamboo on rice. It was quite spicy and good taste. Service was fast because it’s a takeout place.

Great location next to the Transamerica building courtyard, mediocre quality food but it’s ready immediately(buffet style) and you get a pretty hefty portion for the price! *update — the only vegan-friendly option is the eggplant tofu(which was good), all the other tofu/curry dishes contain fish-sauce! bummer

I used to here every week when I worked on Pine st. Now I’m at 2nd/Market and don’t think of walking here. I went back today because I was strolling at lunch. The Tofu in Peanut Sauce is still da bomb, LOVEIT! baby corns and button mushrooms mmmmmmmmMMMMM

Only word, Convenience! Other than that, it’s not good. Everything sorta taste bland and the same. If you had real thai food, this is not your spot. The portions a lot, you pay by how many items you get. It’s fast and close by. I ordered Green curry and it’s alright.
