thank god this place closed– went here about 10 years ago and got up to use there bathroom and there was a TURD right next to the toilet, that nobody on staff bothered cleaning up. obviously i came back and had ZERO appetite to eat my mealy wedge tomato iceberg lettuce salad and slimy burger. Pretty surprised this place hasn’t killed anyone.

I swear. Bashfull Bull NEVER seems to fail my expectations. I always come here with my friends and order a Hamburger w/French Fries and a Coke. You can make your own burger and add ons like bacon, cheese, avacado, mushrooms andetc! I never seem to eat up everything thats on my plate but I try! It’s so goood. The burger is so juicy! I love coming heree. I came here last week with my boyfriend, and it sure felt like I was in one of those diners that you see in the movies. haha, very comfortable and welcoming. Nice owners and workers too :)

I’m not a big breakfast fan… so i got the Cobb salad… just packaged dry lettuce leaves with some cheese and stuff mixed togehter. she asked what salad dresssingi want, she gave me the bottle … avoid the bleu cheese salad dressing =(Now if u want cobb salad, go for Buckhorn’s. one of my friends got the english breakfast, it lookokay. good portion(not overdone with food) service was kind and polite and friendly for being packed house. concerning food, i have to stick with Breakfast at Tiffany’s on San bruno tho

came here for the 1st time yesterday to grab some lunch after seeing the reviews on Unilocal.went in and walked to the counter to order a cheeseburger. the lady was very nice, she asked me if i wanted fries and a soda or milkshake. she even asked me how i wanted my patty cooked! i settled for a medium cooked cheeseburger, fries and a vanilla milkshake. brought my food home, unwrapped the burger and picked it up to see one side of it soggy with grease — gross. the patty was very thick, i felt like i was eating a triple burger! very filling, i had to try so hard not to throw my fries out — which came in a large amount and sliced very thickly. overall, very good food, a little pricey but worth it cause it fills you up. will come here again!

Quick Tip(5÷15÷2011): Love how they still know my order :) Best spot for breakfast! It’s always nice to have that one place in your neighborhood where they recognize your face and ask how you’re doing, especially if they haven’t seen you in a long while. Well, this is what Bashful Bull is for me. When I first moved into the neighborhood, I was overwhelmed by the number of restaurants that line this street. Could never figure out where to start the food adventures for my tummy, until one day a friend of mine told me that Bashful Bull has the best breakfasts all around. And six years later, I still go to Bashful Bull and basically order the same thing for breakfast: Seafood Combination Omlette(shrimp, scallop with cheeese and egg) or the Eggs Benedict. Both are delicious! My sister gets the French Toast, and i’ve been told the Corn Beef Hash breakfast is pretty bomb diggity, too. The servers know me, and have met the new addition to our family. The last time I went in there she asked me, «Where’s the husband?» I said, «He’s not coming today. He’s still sleeping.» Then she asked, «Sister coming?» HAHAHOWDIDSHEKNOW?! Well, before I end this rather odd review for one of my favorite breakfast spots in the city — another item I ate here within the past two years is the cheeseburger! It’s actually bigger than I expected, and during the weekdays they have lunch and dinner specials. Well, I guess that’s it for now. They close pretty early, and of course, meter parking is all that you have which is $ 0.25 for 8 minutes.

This is true little neighborhood diner. It’s all about eggs, bacon, hash browns(always get the hash browns) and coffee… oh and did I mention you can actually get a side order of chicken fried steak to go with that? Cheap, fills up fast for breakfast on the weekends, but tasty!

Every Sunday, my family and I use to come here for breakfast before heading out to church. They are definitely a family run business and are definitely very friendly to their patrons. They have lunch specials like a hamburger, fries and milkshake for under $ 6. The food here is decent but more importantly, its fast if you don’t mind some grease on your food. They also have a location on Taraval down by the beach. Food Highlight: Chicken Fried Steak with gravy, hashbrown, and toast.

This a dive diner that wouldn’t recommend anyone to eat at. Each time I’ve eaten there my food has given me horrible stomach ached for days. If you must eat there, for your health sake, don’t order the french toast. Excuse me, I need to find toilet…

This place is pretty good. Before 10am, they have breakfast specials for only $ 6.25. A large omelette, helping of hash browns(or country potatoe) and toast. More than enough to get you up and ready for the day! This place is definitely a family affair(business). They have another place on Taravel, but we like to come this one. Not coming for a few months, I was surprised the waitress still knew what I wanted; and to a T. Sitting down, we were greeted with coffee and hot water for me. Then my toast was butter free(just the way I like it). The vegetable omelette was heart-y and filling. The hash browns were crispy and delicious. And the toast… this is something that can’t go bad. Overall, the food is pretty good. The service is excellent! And the atmosphere is so home-y.

Quick note: they don’t take AmEx. Talk about a neighborhood diner, and this is it! I don’t think the prices aren’t particularly great, and neither is the food, But there’s something to be said about your«go to» place for breakfast — and this is it! Portion sizes are pretty good, and they are always fast to refill the coffee. I’ve been here a lot, and I’ll continue coming. More coffee please!

Had dinner with the family and the in-laws here tonight. On the menu: Myself: Club sandwich with garlic fries Wife &MIL: Pork ribs FIL: Pork chops, eggs, hash browns Kids: Bacon cheeseburger, fries and vanilla shake Seating: booths, tables and counter service. Take your pick. Service: good, considering the wife was doing all of the serving by herself while the husband was cooking(reminds me of Art’s Café off of Irving). Only two other families in the place when we arrived. We took awhile to decide. She was very friendly and complimented my kids for being so well behaved. Menu: selection was broad. Breakfast for dinner? Dinner for dinner? Special every Friday was Prime Rib(they have a different one every day of the week). Food: came in a timely manner. Wife got her salad and MIL got her soup with time to spare before the main food arrived. Myself — I hadn’t had a club sandwich in a long time. LOVED this one so much that I ate the whole thing. The bacon was crisp and crumbly, so I had bacon in every bite I took. Good amount of meat and lettuce. I asked for garlic fries and got hot crispy fries with freshly chopped pan-fried garlic on top of them! FIL — ate everything on the plate. He said the chops were all meat and no bone(two of them). Hash browns looked crisp and eggs were as requested(sunny side up). Kids — They could have split one burger. Both of them were quite full after each eating ½ of their burger and most of their shake. Still had fries leftover to take home. Wife and MIL — thought the pork was just OK. Came with rice and veggies. Tasted fine to me when the wife offered a bite. Price: you get what you pay for. Their portions are always generous. The previous time I was here, we came for breakfast. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with eggs. Completely forgot that it came with TWO pancakes. Ugh! I ate all of the CFS and eggs(delicious BTW), with no room left for the pancakes(which I took home). Bottom line: empty stomach + Bashful Bull = full belly! I’ve enjoyed all three trips here so far and plan on coming back again.

When I walked in Bashful Bull, there were around 15 diners. Around half of those were regulars. Once you come here you’ll understand why. Great prices, friendly waitstaff, good food. –Burger, fries and a shake for $ 6? Are you kidding me? Thats a great deal. especially when you consider milk shakes at most restaurants are $ 3 – 5 by themselves. –I got a house burger with bacon, swiss and mushrooms. And I gotta say, it was everything I expected. The fries were a little subpar with a funky aftertaste but nothing too off-putting. –The vanilla milkshake is made with 2 ingredients: vanilla ice cream and milk. And it tastes delicious. The only problem is that they use 2% milk. It would be so much better with whole! –There are 3 chinese ladies and 2 chinese dudes that work here. And they are amazingly friendly. I sat at the counter and ate my burger while watching them work. And every now and then, my busy waitress, while accepting payment, making milkshakes and picking up dishes had time to check up on me every now and then, offering napkins or a friendly word. So underrated! Wow, some people review this place with these high expectations. Its a freakin’ dirty diner. Keep it in mind when you eat here! I think for the money, Bashful Bull is a great meal.

This place really is the definition of the three stars. It isn’t bad my any means, but it’s certainly not great either. It literally is A-OK, However, the service is excellent. They are so smiley here. I love smiley people. Furthermore, I’d much rather go here than a Denny’s or other chain. Also, they are ridiculously close to my house. Proximity is a big factor for me, in all aspects of my life.(Food, men, etc.) HOWEVER… I do have one negative thing to say. I ordered a vegetarian omelet last time I was here, and while it was good initially, once I got to the middle I realized it wasn’t quite cooked all the way. I can’t do runny eggs. Period. They look like snot and totally gross me out, so that was a bit of a buzz kill. Next time I’ll order my omelet well done.

Haters gonna hate. … but this is my spot! I enjoy pretty much everything I get here. I don’t know why people expect so much out of this place. It’s cheap diner and breakfast foods. There’s actually nothing special about it at all in the first place except that it fills you up. If you expect more than that, then you might as well skip out on good fill-up restaurants like IHOP and Denny’s. I understand that people would not, and should not, go out of there way to come here, but Bashful Bull does what it came to do… serve the Sunset district some well-priced common food. They thrive on the locals in this district and it works because we keep coming back and they keep staying in business. As for the service, this place is run by Asian people. Specifically, Asians not born here. They don’t fully grasp the customs of America, but I think that’s a charm that works for them. They know what the regulars usually order and do treat newcomers well. They also do the best they can when the place is actually packed(and that’s usually when people go out of their way to come here). If you live in the Sunset, this is the place for breakfast and fast food. If you don’t, you probably won’t like it. You’ll expect too much. I think they should have a sign that says, «Sunset Locals Only!» They’re not a huge chain and they do what they try to do right, serve the Sunset locals :) Side advice: Things I really like here– Burger Special — Burger, fries, shake or soda. Extras cost extra. Country Fried Steak — That, hash, eggs, pancakes. SOGOOD. Biscuits & Gravy — Biscuits & gravy. Enjoy if you can ;)

There are two things that I do not like about this place… one the service and two being taken for every nickel and dime. I went in because of their $ 5.75 burger, but with the service and when my soda was empty got a $ 1.75(unknown charge) refill. I am pissed. Oh well. as in the comment by(Kristine) «always refilling my drinks». Yes because there are money to be made in those hills!

I used to come here a lot when I was younger. It’s similar to american diner food and breakfast is served all day. I think they price some of their dishes too high for what they’re offering. I never thought the food was that great… it isn’t bad, but it isn’t my first choice. Service was a tad bit slow. A customer who came in after us was served their food before my friend and I. My coffee cup took a while to be refilled as well! The roast beef sandwich was basically two untoasted pieces of regular white bread, an average amount of roast beef, mayo, lettuce, and tomato. I’m not sure what took so long for the sandwich to be made! Nothing had to be cooked! The fries were good but they weren’t seasoned. They provided a lot of different condiments on their tables except the mustard came in little packets instead of a bottle. I’ll pass on Bashful Bull in the future…

This is one of the older diners in San Francisco’s Sunset with the standard long counter to grab a quick bite. You’ll probably order their corn beef hash with the usual selection of eggs, toast, savory meats and fruit. Moreover, they have a corn beef hash eggs benedict smothered with hollandaise sauce. Alternatively, the waffles will fill up the size of your plate and are made with a good balance of crisp on the edges. The staff is friendly and parking is available on the street. It’s somewhat located in the middle of nowhere, but it’s worth a trip for brunch. Try to call in advance for large groups.

There are actual bull horns on the wall, but I’m not quite sure if they’re real or not. After a failed attempt to SFO this morning, my brother and I stopped at Noriega to hunt for some eats in the area. It was 10:30am, so most of the restaurants along that strip of Noriega weren’t set to open for a half hour. The only place that was open was The Bashful Bull, so we went on in. It’s a messy place: menus thrown about randomly on the tables, tables not exactly the cleanest, front display strewn with random boxes of green tea and oolong tea for sale. The ladies working were both Cantonese; our server was a no-BS kind of woman. She was blunt with everyone, which I couldn’t determine if that was good or bad for business. The other customers seemed like the regulars, so they seemed to be used to her and seemed to genuinely like the place. The menu has a slew of items, from all-day breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches, and desserts, ranging in price from $ 5 and up(items over $ 10 were generally the dinner items or specialty-type items). There were signs on the wall and out front promoting the weekly and daily specials, and apparently they have good Oreo shakes. Tons of boxes of Oreos were sitting on top of one of the refrigerators there. I went with a breakfast combination, 2 eggs and hamburger patty. The combination came with a choice of hash browns, country potatoes, or rice; toast(sourdough, white, or whole wheat) also came with the combo. The food was okay, decent: greasy, but at the same time, it *is* diner food. The hash browns were a little hard to poke at with a fork(a little overcooked), though. My brother ordered the Denver Omelet, which looked pretty good with ham and chives and cheese(extra $ for cheese). Very mediocre place, but I can see the local charm of it all. I’m not sure how long Bashful Bull has been around, but if it’s been awhile, then I can see how they have built a loyal customer base from the neighborhood.

So this was first time here and first impressions mean everything, yes? This place is right off 19th, not too far from Daly City so it was a quick and convenient drive from the highway. Pull into the street parking(which they monitor like Nazis by the way) and we’re greeted by green tea boxes and Vietnamese chili sauce for sale. Immediately we come to understand just who runs this joint. Ah… Asians. :) At 10:30 the place was half full and consisted of only one waitress bustling around. She gave us menus immediately and apparently didn’t even mind that the one member of our party who was there for 30 minutes beforehand was just sitting there. We sat, got our coffee(which wasn’t too strong or watered down by the way) and proceeded to order while waiting for the 4th member. I had the corned beef hash with white toast. The corned beef wasn’t too salty but at the same time wasn’t something to scream about. The hash browns were nicely browned and not too greasy which is always a plus. I asked for my eggs medium and the interesting thing was that one came out easy and the other hard. How they did that I don’t know but in any case, it was easy to sop up with the toasted buttered white toast that complimented the rest of the meal. Overall, I gotta say the service was impeccable for such a run down diner. When we had a 5th person join us, instead of just sitting on the edge the waitress offered to just combine tables and still kept the coffee coming. I’m in love. For 2 entrees and three drinks it only came out to $ 25. +1 for the service +1 for the 3 hot sauces on each table +1 for the never ending cup of coffee +1 for the wonderful homey feel
