The Factory gets one star because the space itself is pretty cool. It’s got psychedelic artwork, high ceilings, a big sort of circular dance floor, and a big bar. The Factory gets ONLY one star because the people who work there are pretty categorically bad at their jobs. The bouncers are rude and told people showing up at 9:30 for an event for which the Factory was rented until 11 that the event was over and that everyone needed to leave. A clear lie. When they finally figured out that they were wrong, there was no hint of an apology, just a sullen, spiteful look as they let us in. There were only three bartenders to serve hundreds of people and they’re every bit as inattentive and slow as the other reviews indicate. To cap off the evening, the bouncers are even more rude at the end of the night when they’re yelling at people to leave, pushing people, and generally acting like goons. This place is to be avoided until there’s a 180 degree shift in the attitude and professionalism of the staff. I’m not holding my breath.

Sort of small, drinks are on the high side, $ 8 for a jack daniels and coke is a bit much for such a venue in my opinion, also, maybe they should stop serving cognac, cognac in a plastic cup is not very classy…

Bleh, this place sucks! Where do i begin… maybe my standard is a lil too high since i dont go to clubs and the only clubs ive been dragged to were in Vegas. I mean who can top vegas clubs? Anyhoo, my friend won girls night out on wild 94.9 and she begged me to go thats how i got here. The floors are wet, they use flimsy disposable cups, and have u noticed their trashcans? Theyre the same kind landscapers use! Ridiculous! Ok maybe im being too harsh but if u ask me, thats how i describe this place. The only good thing that happened that night was yes, Jason Derulo. I know this is off topic but the radio talked about massages and hair n makeup that went along with the win? Lies! Theyre literally, 5-minute massages and 5-minute hair touch-ups!

$ 22 cash only cover. Even if there was no cover this place deserves negatives stars. Gay men having sex in every stall in the women’s bathroom was repugnant. Bartenders ignore you, floor was sticky, and the music was danceable but below average. As the night progressed it actually got emptier. Never, ever again

The Factory is notoriously an interesting place. I hadn’t heard of it till my gay friends convinced me to go to a circuit party there and what I remember of that is equally blurry and enjoyable. The factory is huge. The club seems to never end, with dance floors, different rooms, a spacious main room, and an interesting upstairs that overlooks the downstairs giving you a vibe that left me wondering if I was really in San Francisco. I’ve always had a great time here, the venue keeps everyone moving and allows more than enough places to relax and escape the chaos. I had an opportunity to be in a fashion show here and was impressed by the staff(perhaps even owners?) diligence to make sure everything was set up and running well for the people using the space. Kindness and respect and excitement from the staff only fueled us to have lower stress and an enjoyable show. I look forward to going back in the future! The only reason I docked a star is some parts of the club could use some TLC and are looking a bit dated along with its location that makes parking somewhat of an interesting and perilous adventure that may get you lost and then somehow on the Bay Bridge. I’ll be back!

I went here by myself one night, little did I know it was an Asian event, not that I have anything against them I just thought it would be odd if I was the only black person was there hahaha I really wanted to try this place out and it was amazzinggg. The DJ was off the chain. He just kept playing hit after hit, NO Repeats, I actually met the guy’s girlfriend and she invited me on stage! so great I have been to several clubs and based on space, and music this is the best one

Simple venue compared to some others in SF but the show I went to the other weekend was great here(however, it should be 21+). Too many slightly younger kids were in the crowd trying to start mosh pits to chilled out drum ‘n bass(Hospitality Tour). A lot of annoyed 21+ folks had to tell them to stop. It would also be nice if there weren’t so many support pillars in the middle of the dance floor. Made it hard to see the stage from certain spots. No biggie though, I was enjoying the music and getting my groove on. Aside that, the venue is conveniently located by the thruway, it’s somewhat spacious, not too big, but perfect for a smaller/more intimate show, has dope lighting, several bars, and it’s an alright venue. Sounds system is pretty good, there’s some room to dance which was nice. If you just want to hear some good music and you don’t care that it’s not a fancy venue, then this place is just that.

I had not been here since it reopened a while back. Went last weekend for an 18+ event… due to the nature of the event, I had low expectations but the Factory managed to even fall short of those! Firstly, long line to enter due to security pat downs, as well as the venue having issues with ticket scanners(using a smart phone to read tickets, which was not working well in the low light conditions). Once we finally got in, there were long lines everywhere — restrooms, coat check, bars. This was still fairly early in the night, conditions only got worse as the night went on. I did not buy any alcoholic drinks while I was there, so I’m not certain about prices, but can say that the wait at the bar in order to get(buy) water was far too long, and even though the venue was very hot and very crowded, there was no free water being given out. We saw a drunk girl tasting abandoned cups in a desperate attempt to find some water. I’m glad the long line detoured me from using coat check, as later in the night(still ~2 hours before the end of the event), patrons were told they needed to remove their items from coat check, as the floor of coat check was being flooded with SEWAGE and the staff would no longer work the room. Like. you can’t even imagine this stuff happening. The venue seemed very overcrowded for the event. We tried several times to get into the main room/floor area, but it was so packed and so warm with poor ventilation. We ended up staying upstairs mostly, but the sound upstairs is terrible, so it really felt like a waste of money to attend a concert there only to hang out in the glass room. I don’t get this venue — they have all these little rooms that could be made into nice spaces, if only they had either good sound being input from the main room /DJ or else separate DJs for these spaces. As it was, there were just rooms full of people who were too messed up to dance and didn’t care that the sound was atrocious. Along those lines, the venue is laid out in a way that is a little bit difficult to navigate, multiple staircases, lots of side rooms, this turned into a mess when trying to move around really over-intoxicated kids. Simple things like going outside to have a cigarette became an ordeal, as you had to *wait in line* to get to the smoking area, which was nothing more than a long walkway. At many points in the night, we had that feeling of… I hope there isn’t an emergency here, it would be impossible to get out! I had a lot of friends from out of town with me, who were really surprised that this sort of environment is allowed to operate as a public venue. For an underground, it would be more understandable, but it’s mind blowing that this place operates publicly. If SFPD showed up here on such an event night, they would get shut down.

I came here for New Years. This was a last minute trip so planning it was kinda rushed. I didn’t have time to really look at other review of other clubs online and it was nice that this was one of few that were still selling tickets for New Years. We paid a discounted price of $ 75 per person because we decided to go to the club after midnight so we could enjoy the fireworks display elsewhere. I see why tickets were still available. This place SUCKS!!! What a rip off and disappointer. This place was dirty and smelly. The dance floors was covered with trash, vomit, spilled drinks and plastic cups. I saw so many trashy drunk girls with their 3−4inch heels slip and fall and roll over the nastiness that was on the floor. I found it humorous watching them fall and get up and purposely ignoring the fact that they have vomit on their dress and hair. GROSS! The bathrooms were disgusting too. The men’s stalls were closed so guys had to share the same bathrooms with the girls. Unfortunately there was about five stalls and 3 were occupied with girls puking and the other two were unflushable. The restroom were covered with layers of toilet paper and trash. You think after paying so much money to get in this club they would at least hire a bathroom attendant to monitor the restrooms. They didn’t even have a dress code for their New Years party. If we had known that we could wear gym clothes & beach attire, I would have not gone through the trouble to dress to impress. We were only in this club for 1.5hours till we decided that we could no longer take it anymore. The only reason why I gave it one star is because the music was the only thing that was decent. They played a good mix of hip hop in one room and in the other room played techno music– that wasn’t that bad.

I think giving one star to the Factory is being very generous. A group of us attended the venue for NYE to ring in 2012, however, I regret paying so much money for mediocre service, décor and organization. I think I’ll have to pass the Factory in the future. The main problem with the event was the scarcity in staff at the bar, cleanup for the different dance rooms and most importantly the bathrooms. For a venue advertised to last until 6am in the morning the establishment should at least provide constant maintenance in the restrooms! Trash everywhere is not cool, marginal mix of music for the price paid is not cool. Those responsible for planning such an event should not plan another since customer service is of little concern. There was no wow factor or anything memorable other than the fact that at least I was with good friends. In the future, if friends suggest the Factory, I’ll have to say«No Freakin Way.»

Came here for an ETD event and It was great. Mainly because they had a separate area for the 21+ crowd upstairs. I think there were about 4 rooms total? the front room, main stage, side stage, and upstairs. The event itself was pretty packed. It also got pretty hot in both of the downstairs room. the upstairs 21+ room had AC blasting. That was probably the thing that i really liked. If i wanted to escape the hot musty-ness, just go up there and hang out until I cool down. Definitely will go back if they do another event there.

Attended the MOANY party on the VIP package with a group of friends. The biggest issue was the lack of bartenders for the massive amount of people. The VIP area had roughly 3 bartenders for hundreds of people which led to long annoying lines. Also the DJ in the VIP area was playing music where hardly anyone was dancing compared to the main dance floor. Happy New Year!

The place is huge, the drinks aren’t overpriced and the air conditioning works. As far as venues go that’s about all I can ask for.

Don’t come here! I went on a Saturday night with my boyfriend, and it just wasn’t the scene we were looking for. We tried to go to the Glas Kat Supper Club, only to find that it had closed. This was our back-up plan. The cover charge was $ 30 each, outrageous! Since we’d driven from the East Bay and weren’t planning to turn around, we bit the bullet and paid up. The music was completely un-danceable, and although the club is 18+ to enter, many people looked much younger. There were a lot of sweaty guys. Upstairs, the music was a bit better, so we hung out up there. After an hour, we left and went to Mel’s Diner instead.

Oh OH!!! Gay Pride weekend in full effect! Colossus, the $ 70.00 circuit party is being held here this evening and let me tell you the music is insane, the men are insatiable, and my ear drums hurt. LOL !! 2 dance floors, trippy spaced out hallway that includes 2 small bathrooms that stunk of Shit and piss. The second dance room had a buffet of fruits, and a 2 huge bowls of ORANGES… Hmmmmm… I think the oranges were to entice the«E» heads. HAHA. As I make it in to the main Dance hall, 4 pillars standing straight up in the air with bikini wearing Porn Stars shaking what there mama gave him and more. :) I decide to take of my shirt and and join the sea of men, into the wee hours of the morning… GREATCLUB! Wish we had parties like this in Phoenix.

Came here for the synergy k2? event. It wasn’t as packed as I expected it to be, but the dancefloor was pretty full. I’m guessing the higher ceilings meant not as stuffy. The second floor had ac blasting cause it was super cold up there. There was also a bar up there that was never busy when I went by it. The drinks were super strong if that’s what you like. Overall not bad. The bouncers were friendly as well which is a plus compared to those who look like they dont want to be there.

Meh. I came here last night to see LMFAO perform for $ 5 and thats why this place gets one star. We parked down the street and walked upto the factory around 9 – 930 last night and it was already pretty packed. There is 1 main bar that accepts credit card and 1 side bar that is cash only. I dont think I have ever experienced a worse bartender. We found our way to an empty spot at the bar and promptly ordered drinks. I ordered 7 drinks to start off my friend’s birthday and the tab came out to 90bucks, so i threw him a 10 dollar tip hoping that’d mean I wouldnt have to wait another 10−15minutes to get a drink next time. Nope. The bartender took his sweet time, every time. I believe there were 3 bartenders and they all took their time and eventually I ended up not tipping at all. Now about LMFAO… they know how to put on a show! They probably came on around 11 and went on til 12 – 1230. The main room was so packed and hot that eventually we pushed our way out and went to the dance floor on the 2nd stage. Bottom line, I would NOT come back here!

i am reviewing this on give thanks 2010. i am always a big fan of raves why you ask over clubs. easy. clubs you got the cliches, the uptight and conceited people who thing… because they dress slightly hot they think theyre the fucking shit. its true. i mean because usually when i talk to some girl its always some other guy or some meat head behind her. fuck that. to me the big raves in SF are over. all because of that girl who couldnt handle partying and got herself killed thanks bitch ruined it for all of us. actually i am not even disjointed. i am glad had to grow out of it somehow right now. parking was ok to find for me but we had to journey like up the hill. the wait in line was fairly long. i didnt anticipate the place BEINGSOSMALL. i went inside i was like… wow… theyre going to cram a whole bunch of E-tards and ravers in here BADIDEA. including staff that are working there. its going to be hot as fuck. the drinks in there are expensive AS usual. no place to fucking sit but i found a lounge area. its right when you come in next to the bar. they got like a table and two couches they look grimmy but who the fuck cares. we held that spot until most of my friends wanted to leave. it was just me and my boy mark. i wasnt really in the mood to meet people especially in that environment. TIGHTANDCRAMMED in fuck that. i think by like 12 or 1 the place was so packed you couldnt even really walk around. i think thats what ive always hated about SF raves. everyone is in a click or i guess i am just talking to the wrong people. if you come here for a club its coo but for a rave. thats more than less than mediocre and hyped up. NO fuck that.

Wobbleland review: 1 ½ stars I should have stayed home. 18+ events are usually pretty bad but this was absurd. The place was packed. No, I mean PACKED. The two DJ rooms had no room for you to dance and it only got worse as the night progressed. They definitely oversold the venue. I wanted to watch more Jakwob but not from the bar area where there weren’t any speakers, but that was the only comfortable location. Being inside the room meant dealing with everyone cramped up against you. It was a nightmare. I went to watch Kastle and there was a little more room there. However, once 12th Planet came out, the leg room was gone. Sound systems sounded great, except when it went out briefly during Jakwob’s set. That was awkward. I came back to watch some Datsik and I could not get through. It sounded great though. Watched a 1⁄3 of Skrillex’s set but a combination of raver kids, a not so great set, and no room to move, sent me back to Nero in the main room. That’s when I realized I should have been with Nero the whole time. It was still packed insanely, but I could have resorted to watching from the bar area in the back I suppose. By the end of the night the venue was selling waters and Gatorades for $ 5 each. The only alcohol they were selling(which I didn’t know about) was upstairs. Otherwise the main bar area had nothing but water, Red Bull, and Gatorade as far as I know. It would be wise to make these shows 21+ but of course the venue/promoters would rather make it hell for everyone(not to mention the extra money they’ll make) and make it a free-for-all for all the leg-warmer-wearing, fairy-wing-having, pacifier-sucking MORONS. No more kids shows for me. I want my money back.

I used to like coming here when I was younger. I would cashier for the«Orgy» gay party and it was awesome. I got to drink and look at beautiful men that would tell me that I look«fabulous» all night. What more could a young straight gal ask for? Oh yeah, did I mention that gay guys always tipped me when I cashiered at gay parties?! What is up with that?! I LOVEDIT!!! Ahhh I miss my days of cashiering at gay parties. I have come back for parties(straight, Asian ones) and they’re usually kind of boring. Although I must admit I had fun on my birthday here only because I had 10 shots that night. I must express my absolute hatred for their main bar. When my male friends buy drinks, it takes them at least half a freaking hour! It’s soooo crowded at this bar I can’t stand it. They have another bar in a loungey type room off to the side but it’s not a full bar. The bar upstairs is for VIP only but even that one is crowded! Ahhh what to expect from a club. It just seems so hard to get a drink in there!
