The Klipptones

Josh is AMAZING! We saw him and his band perform at Tupelo, one of our favorite bars in the North Beach.
They have a very wide range of songs — from swing, jazz, rockabilly to most current pop! You will be pleasantly surprised to hear your fav Sinatra song followed by Hozier’ «Take me to church». So cool and so rare and no weird jazz which will nurse you to sleep swiftly.
Him and another vocalist, very attractive lady btw, seem to work together so cohesively and smooth, — their positive and fun energy captures you instantly, and his bandsmates all wear smiles on their faces. Those folks are truly enjoyin what they do and it shows. Great band!

I’m not prone to writing many reviews, but I had to add my praise for the Klipptones, who we hired two months ago to play at our wedding in wine country. From start to finish, band leader Josh was responsive and eager to make our day special and custom-​tailored to our taste. The band has an impressive library of songs — all the jazz/​swing standards plus tons of other songs — and they will even incorporate features of the couples’ backgrounds (for us, our NY and southern roots) into the playlist. We had a broad collection of folks attending, and the band was a huge hit, creating just the right mood with a friendly vibe that totally suited us. We also liked that we were able to pick from among the full band option or just go with a combo of certain instruments and vocalists — we changed our minds a few times along the way, so this flexibility was really helpful to getting what we wanted in the final decision. We could not have been happier with our choice of band on such an important day.

Josh and the Klipptones are AWESOME!!! We saw them at a hotel downtown. the music, vocals and all over great entertainment were wonderful!

I was fortunate to run across the Klipptones while meeting with some friends at a public venue in San Francisco. A few weeks later I booked the Klipptones to perform at corporate event I was producing for one of my clients.
Josh and the band bring a modern sound to some of my favorite jazz/​swing songs and do some great re-​arrangements of current hit songs.
In addition to being a great sounding band that works with any type of event, they are a pleasure to work with. Go see them. listen to them, you will not be disappointed.

This band has an incredible energy and is a favorite of dancers — everyone loves them! They are creative and run the range from old standards to surprising you with swinging a pop tune. Who knew Sanatra and Beyonce melded so well together?! Josh is a fantastic vocalist and he is very professional and responsive when it comes to booking gigs. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

I produce fundraising galas for nonprofits and have had Josh and the Kilpptones play for us numerous times — no matter the audience or the venue, everyone LOVES them. Their flexibility and great natures allow us to make the most of every evening. The Klipptones can take almost any song and make you feel like you are watching them in a smoky sultry club. Or make you want to get up and dance. I love these guys!

We hired the Klipptones to play at our wedding, and they really went above and beyond. Firstly, they are great musicians. I enjoyed the contrast of the male and female vocals, and all the instrument players were skilled. They do swing/​jazz music that is very danceable, with some swingified pop songs that were a lot of fun. The guests enjoyed both dancing and just listening to their music.
Josh was very responsive in the months coming up to the wedding, going over playlists and such. We wanted to do a song not on their repertoire, and they learned it for us and did a beautiful rendition. Josh was also great about MCing a bit during the evening, and he even offered to handle our playlist of MP3 songs for various parts of the evening.
Overall the Klipptones really added something special to our wedding day!

This band knows how to party!
I’ve seen them mostly at swing dancing events, where they keep things moving and everyone has so much fun. They play mostly jazz standards, but every once in a while mush them up with something like Beyonce. Beyonce! And I loooooooove their cover of Little Red Corvette. *swooon*
And then by happenstance, they were playing a friend’s wedding up in Sonoma! During dinner they kept it mellow with Ella and Sinatra, and then brought the party to the dancefloor. It was phenomenal. You can tell the musicians really know their stuff.
Anywho, I think these guys rock.
