I agree that this is a fantastic venue. However, I must disagree with Aimee C’s comment about«plentiful parking across the street». I think she may be referring to the Walgreen’s parking lot. I took her comment to heart and arrived 30 minutes before the show started, and found that the parking lot has signs saying, «30 minutes only for Walgreen’s customers. Violators will be towed», and«Lot closes at 9:00pm». I didn’t want my car to get towed or stuck overnight in the lot, so I spent the next half hour looking for street parking, which did not exist on a Saturday night. I finally found a pay parking lot for $ 25 about ¼ mile away, and by the time I got back to the venue, it was after the show start time, and«standing room only», so I had to stand in the balcony and look at the musicians’ foreheads instead of getting a seat, even though I had a prepaid ticket, which was annoying.

I’ve been coming to the Lost Church since it opened, and I can’t wait for its restart this fall! Its ambiance fits its hipster/divey aesthetic. The owner’s a very cool dude and seems to have his finger on the pulse of the emerging SF music/theater scene. Play on!

The Lost Church is currently undergoing ADA upgrades using crowdsource funding. It is a true hidden gem in SF and its reopening is eagerly awaited late 2014. Parking is plentiful across the street and cover charges are very low considering the quality of talent who choose to grace its stage. There is an irreverent, hilarious opera troupe typically in residence; otherwise, TLC is also known as an «artists’ salon» type of venue, bringing to its cosy, intimate setting a variety of stellar musicians from near and afar. TLC is among my favourite small venues in SF and a place I bring out-of-towners for a true taste of SF spirit and originality.

This place is amazing. Brett who helped run my birthday party last night is a great guy and stayed on top of everything. Awesome décor, well priced and a great location. Go here, party here. Lost church, I’m a believer!

I love this cool music venue tucked away on Capp street in the mission. I was lucky to enough to see shows of really cool local and NYC based bands/musicians each time i have been there. The place is very intimate and cozy and way different other music venues in the mission.

Intimate venues are my favorite. They cradle an artist’s music with love and padding and they invite the audience to truly be part of the experience. The Lost Church is one such magical musical space. Situated in an alley — The Lost Church is something you have to know about. As soon as you arrive — you can feel the warmth of the place envelope you. Since this adorable spot truly focuses and celebrates the artist — they are usually collecting donations and admittance fees at the door. I respect and applaud their dedication to helping keep art well funded. There are a handful of chairs — which are assembled bleacher style — so everyone in the space gets a clear view of the spotlighted performers. The lighting is lovely and the sound travels gracefully throughout the small room. Keep San Francisco’s performance and musical scene true and alive. Come to Lost Church with open ears and a ready heart. The music and space will nourish you. Trust.

Wow, this place is totally what San Francisco is all about. The intimate vaudeville vibe will take hold of you once you walk in the door. I love going to this place on a random night because they always have so many great performers rock my socks off.

Wonderful, wonderful venue. Great vibe, Completely intimate. Saw Alma Desnuda this evening from a big comfy red velvet sofa. The venue seemed to make their already fantastic chemistry even deeper. Highly recommend.

This was a great show. Small venue so reserving seats n advance is a good idea. I loved the little bar upstairs has drinks but also refreshing stuff like coconut water. There wasn’t a bad seat n the house! What was challenging for me and my partner was the ventilation, kinda stuff and the smoke started wafting down from the smoking deck after intermission. The chairs are also less than comfy– someone said– next time I’m going to bring my own stadium cushion lol. There is a comfy looking couch so you could come early and snag some comfy space. But the performance was amazing. I would definitely come again !!

Walking down a dark alley in the Mission, you will find a nondescript, unmarked door on an unassuming corrugated façade. Inside you will find the most intimate concert venue space in the city. The Lost Church is a breath of fresh air, a space that truly celebrates the listening of music without the clinking of barroom glass or billiard balls. The lighting and ambiance create a magical stage which focuses attention on the artists. I went to see All My Pretty Ones, and they have never sounded better. Upstairs is a smoking area, a gorgeous bathroom, and the smallest bar in the city serving tasty beers and whisky drinks. Do yourself a favor and go see a show at the Lost Church.

Went to Lost Church last night to see three singer/song writers. The space is a hidden gem in the heart of the mission. No sign; corrugated metal siding on the exterior walls. It had a speakeasy feel. The inside felt like a converted loft. Very intimate with good acoustics. The performers were Bobby Jo Valentine from Ronert Park, Jeb Havens from San Francisco, and Tom Goss from Washington DC. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening of song. If you get a chance to see them live do so, they are all very friendly and personable. They all also have websites where you can get a sample of their music and learn a bit more about these very talented men. Jeb will also be performing at Martunis this Saturday at 5pm.

We watched erin brazill and the brazillionaires here last night and a fantastic time was had. We didn’t have a clear idea about what the event was all about(Just Another Rock n Roll Nightmare! A lost church original sci-fi comedy) and had gone for the band really, but the entire show turned out to be a fantastic night out that included an elaborate and well thought out ‘performance art’ piece. The stage /volume and intimacy could not have been better. Great bar /prices and the free pretzels /biscuits. After the first act(Erin B), the band joined the audience for the«main show», adding to the feeling that something special was happening. Highly recommended if you catch the«Just Another Rock n Roll Nightmare» run or any other event put on here. We’ll certainly be going back ASAP.

A very cool small venue in the Mission. It had a special charm. Very interesting early 1900’s architecture and décor. I saw a movie there with about 60 others and it was quite pleasant overall. Nice staff too.

Life works in mysterious ways, be open and you shall find ~ This is how I came across The Lost Church one night. Housed in a tin building on the corner of Capp and Adair, between 16th and 17th Streets, it can be easily missed. Look for the 65 on the building and enter at the designated time. Most likely you’ll be greeted by Brett, one of a pair of lovely owners who run this show. I was happily surprised to find myself in this magical space ~ a feeling of vaudeville with a low stage edged with glowing show lights, dark wood floors, and chocolate-colored walls. The main level can host an intimate show for 49, according to their site. Upstairs and across the walkway, offers a great view of the action below. You’ll also find a small bar with light snacks, and a beautiful bathroom. Look up and you might catch a glimpse of the moon in the skylight… Originally built in 1904, a famous local sculptor, David Ireland transformed this space with his creative touch in 1979. Since then, it has been an artists’ studio, as well as used for production and performances. The Lost Church typically hosts live performances a couple nights a week and can be rented for private parties, lectures, and screenings. This place would also make for a unique wedding.
