Amazing space. The room can lend itself to a million different scenarios, and with the floor to ceiling windows and views all around the city, it’s an inspiring spot. I held a 150-person event here with great success. It is such a cool space to transform into an event experience. Brandon was an excellent venue manager and even helped me troubleshoot a lighting issue that came up during the event. Highly recommend it.

I recently directed a small commerical for Dove and I used the Nine Studio as the location for our film. Brandon, the stage manager, was amazing and one of the best stage managers I’ve ever encountered. He was willing to work with our budget and even bought us in a free lunch. A very good guy and wonderful location with lots of great angles. Also, photographically the light in the Nine Studio is amazing. Beautiful light for face close ups.

Big space but no loading dock, watch out for the size of the elevator.

Truly a one-of-a-kind, hidden gem of an event space. For those who need a large, open space but want to avoid the boring ballroom scenario — look no further than The Nine. Always on a hunt to discover the latest and greatest venues on behalf of my clients, I am so happy to have discovered this venue and the nice guys who run it. We very much enjoyed turning what is essentially a blank canvas with wooden floors, high ceilings and lots of windows into a festive and fun party that guests were raving about. Definitely check this place out. Elyssa Thorp Partner, Delysium Events

We recently had our wedding at the Nine Studios and we are so glad that we picked this venue for our reception. We worked with James and Brandon who were both so great to work with(easy, professional, fun)! The best part about the venue is that it is a hidden treasure… set in SOMA on 9th/Harrison, you would never know this incredible space was there but when you walk inside it is such a treat. If you are looking for a hip, urban chic setting and are open to thinking outside the box… this is your spot.

We had our mind set on getting married in a loft. You would think in a city like San Francisco, this would be an easy task but nothing was really jumping at us. Until I stumbled upon The Nine and boy, am I glad I did. When I initially came upon the space, James and Brandon had just opened the studio to events other than photography shoots After I saw the pictures on the website and had my first conversation with James, I was so ever hopeful. When I went to go visit the space for the first time, we knew this was it. The space is fabulous! So much natural light, dark hard wood floors, and exposed ceilings, this was the perfect back drop for the aesthetic we were looking for. We tried to keep the design simple and really allow the space to shine. As far as décor for the day-of, James and Brandon embraced our ideas for the space and helped us fulfill our vision. We had two visits with them prior to our wedding and they gave us a lot of advice. They are true professionals and also sweethearts. :)

After searching high and low for the right space for our wedding, The Nine Studios turned out to be Just Perfect. In short, the space inspires. Natural light floods the place, and the simple treatment of the walls and floors is an ideal canvas for so many things. The large open space(9,000 square feet is a lot, folks!) gave us plenty of room for imagining, and then building, exactly what we wanted. We chose to work with our architect-friend and build our own altar; we played with lots of other ideas, including using the incredible ceiling as a backdrop for hanging a flock of handmade«birds», or hanging large mobiles. And The Nine handily accommodated our 180 guests for the entire afternoon-into-evening. There was room for the caterers and staff to work, and a sizable dressing room for the bride to prepare. In terms of the event itself, from cocktails to the ceremony to dinner to dancing, keeping everything in one place was a great way to maintain the momentum. There’s even a quiet space for young kids to get away. Best of all, James and Brandon, proprietors of The Nine, were FANTASTIC to work with: professional, helpful, and very nice. If you’re looking for a unique, beautiful, and spacious location for an event, look no further.
