The Optical Shop of San Francisco

I have not gotten the glasses yet but I thought I would drop a line while I am here. Thanks for the review from the prior writer, since no one else bothered, you were my only info.
Paul is very accomodating. I had buyer’s remorse and wanted different lenses. Paul is holding my frames while I go to an optometrist to get a second opinion. He is also waiting on me deciding whether to get the darkening «transitions» lenses, and whether to get bifocals, readers, or long distance glasses.
My only complaint is that Paul does very little to help you choose your frames, as in picking the best for my lifestyle, the most attractive, etc.
My ideal glasses sales person asks me if I am the type who lets them get all dirty and puts them in my back pocket then sits on them, or am I the type who keeps them in the case all the time they are off. What will I be doing with them, sitting or riding a bike… etc.
Paul is more of a hands off salesman. No hard sell. He answers your questions, stands next to you, but does not say «those allow your eyebrows to show» or «those make you look fat» or «those cost an extra 100 for the name «Nike». just a little joke about the NIkes, I have no idea how much I paid for the name. I chose them for being flexible so when I crush them they will not break.
BUYER“S REMORSE AGAIN! UPDATE – it gets even BETTER: So, I decided I hate my new glasses. I chose the wrong frames. Since then I learned more about shopping for glasses, and see that these great, well made, NIke frames in the cool green are the absolute wrong shape for my face. OOPS. So I called Paul and said «I hate my frames – is there anything I can do? I have not worn them hardly at all.»
Paul just said, «Yes we can exchange them for another frame.» I was SO RELIEVED to hear those words!!! Weeeeeeeeeee I would feel stupid if I blew multiple hundreds on ugly glasses.

If Unilocal had a ten star rating, Paul Sheehan of The Optical Shop would certainly get such a rating. He’s a brilliant optician.
I was having issues with my glasses and vision. Paul was the only optician who was able to figure out the problem and fix it. He’s a perfectionist and is extremely thorough and precise. If you have a complicated prescription with your glasses, Paul is the optician to see.
I give him the highest recommendation.
