The Pilates Center of San Francisco

Jackie Latour is The Instructor to book at this studio. She is so incredibly warm and encouraging. I was nervous about a private session, as I had only taken Pilates in group classes. Jackie put me as ease quickly dialing right in to my beginner/​intermediate level. She really assesses what you’re capable of and what exercises you know already. Then she slowly scoots you out of your comfort zone to challenge you to include new and more difficult elements into your typical routine. I have lost many inches and truly toned my muscles. It’s all due to Jackie. I’ve never been so happy with my own body and certainly never thought I’d be writing a review that said that.

I first came to see Martt, to check out the Pilates teacher training program, as I was interested in an intense and thorough training. I really had just a surface understanding of how various Pilates programs differed from one another. But, I now know, after my own deep research, there is a difference. I have since logged many hours of teacher training, and private sessions in the Pilates Center of SF apprenticeship program and I have to say, it’s not easy. But, because it’s intense, thorough and requires a lot of hard work, I know I will come out of this a good teacher and will be a life long student with an appreciation of the «art» of classsical Pilates. Martt’s mentorship and the certification I hope to get from Dorothee VandeWalle through this authentic Pilates program is worth gold to me.
Not only is the PCSF a great place for teacher training, but it’s just a solid place to go and have a Pilates sesson. The teachers are dedicated, hard working and top-​notch. The studio is small and personable and I bet you will walk away feeling like you can’t wait to go back for your next session.
Maybe I’m a litle biased since I’m now part of the apprentice program, but surely there was something good that drew me into this place!

Martt is an attentive and patient teacher. She’s very sweet and fun but also challenges you and makes you work hard the entire session. I like that she varies the workouts and adds new moves to keep it interesting and challenging. I always leave feeling stronger and more in-​tune with my body.

The Pilates Center of San Francisco was my first personally instructed pilates session. Having a deeply skilled, knowledgeable, and masterfully trained teacher like Martt lead you through a private session is a great experience. You not only work hard and get a great work out but Martt takes the time to explain and teach the philosophy and benefit of each exercise. She is energetic, fun, and tough all at the same time. The facility is beautiful, clean, and really modern.

I can’t really say enough about Pilates Center of San Francisco. Martt and Emily are amazing teachers. I had knee surgery a few years ago, and by working with Martt on a consistent basis since the PCSF started, I have gotten so much stronger and have virtually no pain in my knee ever. Martt is energetic, funny and tough all at the same time. The facility is beautiful, clean and really modern.
