Sorry to say, but my first visit to The Plant will probably be my last. Ordered a ‘make your own’ salad and it cost me $ 16! Not sure, but this might be the most expensive lunchtime salad I’ve ever bought in the FiDi. Romaine, a few topping and some chicken. The salad was under-dressed for my liking and the portion size was on the smaller size IMO. I’m getting sick and tired of overpaying for something that costs so little to make. The interior is nice — some long family style tables and big windows. Good for people watching and hanging out.

The vegetarian sandwich is really good but it would be better if it were on a yummier bread like focaccia or something just a little more exciting than the wheat that it’s on but then again I’m sure the bread they use is like much healthier than something I would choose. I got the chicken avocado sandwich one day and it was pretty lackluster and unexciting. I wouldn’t order that again. My friend got the Dino Kale salad and she added salmon to it and really enjoyed it. I didn’t watch her pay or anything but I’m sure her salad was probably $ 20 and it’s served in a bowl the size that you would eat cereal out of. So, in case you didn’t read this remark in every other review, it’s quite outrageously expensive, but the food does seem fresh and good and the service is pretty great too.

Hadn’t been to this location before, and it was a comparable Plant Café experience. My friend and I arrived for lunch a few minutes before noon, got to a reguster before we had made our order, and easily found a seat. The food took a few minutes to get to us, and was hot, flavorful, and with the potatoes and salad meal option, a pretty solid amount of food. I’m a pretty big Plant Café fan, so it was going to be hard to dissapoint me, and it didn’t: their veggie burger is pretty darn rad: flavorful, with a good(although soft) texture, and I always order it with the pop of wasabi. It was hard not to order a dessert. The central location of the entrance to the main seating area seems bottle necked by a water-and-condiment station, and that also seemed to be where the folks waiting for their to go orders. The flow could be improved, but it wasn’t a problem once we were seated.

Hey Sharon K., what brand of coconut milk do you use at Plant? I got a strawberry smoothie with coconut milk and it was the best coconut milk I ever had. Couldn’t really taste the strawberries, but the coconut milk more than made up for it. Thanks! L.L. Meese

I walk by this new location twice a day, to and from Muni. Tried it today for first time, for some soup to go. The«bowl» of soup was really a cup(I actually poured it into my ceramic coffee cup to see, and yep it all fit…). And a half slice of bread, not a full slice. For $ 8 including tax. And the minestrone was weak — watery, with few vegetables. The rest of the menu looked very pricey. So many better options for high quality food in larger quantities at lower prices in the FiDi. Won’t be going back.

$ 9.00 for a regular sized glass of orange juice which was very diluted with water. Unbelievable rip off. $ 5.00 for a few potato wedges. About $ 3.00 for 3 tiny pieces of vegan sausage. The carrot cake was great. It should be for $ 5.50.

This place SUCKS. Their menu doesn’t have a ton of great options, and the quality of the food you get for this price is so disappointing. I got the grilled chicken and avocado sandwich with a side salad. Sandwich was almost soggy, cold, and about 3 inches. It was TINY and not good at all. The salad was OK– just greens — no veggies or anything. Just plain greens. Terrible place. They always have disgusting soup too. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Do yourself a favor and walk an extra block to Deli & or Café Venue — both have way better prices, better staff, and BETTERFOOD!!!

Got a breakfast burrito with turkey sausage. It was okay, and it was room temperature by the time it showed up(it was more than half empty in the restaurant), with a small pile of not-so-fresh fruit.

Yikes, I usually love The Plant. But this new one leaves a few things to be desired. I ordered an egg scramble(not on the menu but 2 eggs a la carte, w spinach, onions and turkey bacon) and it was wayyyyyy over salted(and I like salt) and very watery. There is a puddle of water at the bottom of my box. And all in with a smoothie I paid close to $ 19. Definitely not coming back here for my eggs. The smoothies are decent though.

It’s called«the plant», but let me ask you this: how am I supposed to #feedmeseymour when the 16(?)oz cup is like a happy meal cup? Did I order 16 drops or 16 ounces? #osnap Yeah no srsly bright spacious minutely applestoreish ambience. Neat chairs. Narrow bottled bev selection still did the trick for FiDi grab-n-go.

I was really disappointed with lunch here today. I have eaten at the Plant on the pier, the CA St location one(both are awesome), and the Steiner location. This one really disappointed. My coworker and I each got the half sandwich and soup combo($ 11.50). The soup was«chipotle black bean,» there was no hint of spice whatsoever, it had cilantro which wasn’t mentioned, and it was SUPER watery, like stock consistency, with a little bean on the bottom. Maybe they were just scooping the top of the soup pot? Still no flavor. My veggie sandwich was mediocre, her chicken sandwich looked fine. Upshot: very nice cashier, very pretty interior, good menu selection, food arrived quickly, no line at 11:45 am. Downside: the food: bland flavor, not filling.

Best experience I ever had with a newly opened restaurant. I got a chicken avocado sandwich and a carrot ginger juice. The bread on the sandwich was delicious, and the serving of chicken was very generous. It came with a side salad and house made pickles that were quite good. The juice was incredibly fresh, and the perfect balance of ingredients. Its so hard to find food that’s fresh in the FiDi, so I’ll definitely be returning.

I’m a meat eater and no, I wouldn’t recommend the Plant Burger… it’s too mushy for my liking. I also had the Dino Salad and it was alright. I’m not the biggest fan of kale but the type of kale that was used in this salad is pretty good!
