There was a posting online on Craig’s list for a room here. Everything turned out good except for the male running the building. One day I had to go to the hospital and instead of sending the ambulance there was police officers that showed up. He said the management didn’t take well to police showing up to the building and gets people kicked out and said this is your last week. I didn’t even do anything wrong, and when I talked to the female at the front desk about it, she said its intruding on our home to ask about it. I payed my rent on time and this would be my last week of the month. It seems like this may be a short term stay building and caution anyone that wants to stay here for a long period of time. There’s also roaches in the building, and mice.

I tried super hard to find something wrong with this place when I moved in. No dice, it’s a long term stay hotel so it isn’t the ritz, but it’s a place on nob hill for a thousand bucks a month! Great for newcomers or people between spots. It’s little grungy, especially in the kitchen, which is more than a little grungy., but I personally have had no serious complaints e.g. Bedbugs, rats, sanitation concerns, etc. I wish I could reengineer their trash disposal system but I feel like I would be out of line.

For the price you cannot beat this place. I pay $ 1300 per month to live right on polk st and could not be happier. The place is clean, the staff are friendly, I lost my key one night and the manager was super helpful about letting me in. The people who live in the building are also quite chill. Bobs donuts, right up the street, tons of bars, 4 vietnamese resteraunts, thai, pizza, brunch places. If you are new to SF and part of the tech scene looking for an inbetween home in a crowded city I definatly recomend the Stanley. Oh and too boot FREE Wifi!!!
