The UPS Store

I would give this place a 0 if I could. I had to return two modems back to ATT. I got there and was told to wait 15 minutes because the ONLY guy there was helping a customer. That’s no problem, it’s understandable. I waited and it was finally my turn. The guy looked through his computer and after a while, he said he can’t find something in the system? I don’t even know. He told me someone else will be in at 10am (it was 9 by now after waiting) and they can help me. I’m like what? Are you serious? So unprofessional that there’s only one worker and that worker wasn’t even able to do his job after I waited. Either that or their system wasn’t prepared for him to be able to do his job. Should’ve went to the other one in the area.

For the second time in six months, a package dropped off at this store was not placed into the UPS system for several days and arrived too late to be of use. Do NOT assume that because this store takes custody of your package it will be handed to UPS for prompt delivery. If you must use this shop, enter your tracking number at the end of the day you drop off your package. If it does not show as scanned, they still have it. Go down there, pick up your package and take it somewhere else. These guys are sloppy with your shipments.
Ravi’s response, essentially, is «Your package is not our responsibility.» That says it all, IMO.

Tabitha is delightful. Absolutely wonderful customer service. Even when the store is a madhouse, she is always polite and focuses on the customer. I want management to know what a gem she is!!!

Horrible, rude customer service. I had a package re-​routed to pickup at their location because they kept trying to deliver it to my apartment when I wasn’t home. I wanted to make sure it was there before I made the trip to pick it up so I went online to track it but the tracking information was confusing — said it was delivered to a UPS access point but had my address still instead of this location. When I called to try to confirm whether or not the package was actually there the girl was extremely rude from the start. After she asked for my information she came back a minute later saying it wasn’t there — I tried to explain to her what was going on and she again yelled at me that it wasn’t there and hung up. Never using this place for any of my future business.

I’ve never experienced bad service like a lot of these reviews say. I live in the neighborhood and always use this location to ship pre-​paid packages (usually Amazon returns). It could not be easier and always takes less than five minutes even if there are other customers in line ahead of me. I will say that I almost always come during the middle of the day on business days. Maybe it’s worse after hours or on the weekends, but I have had nothing but prompt service when I come in. Made the mistake of using the FedEx Office store down the street to ship something recently, and NEVER again. It took five times as long, so this UPS Store feels like the speediest thing ever after that.

Like OfficeMax across the street. That place deserves no stars. However, UPS and its team members Evan and randy are thrown challenges everyday including computer failures and a mass of customers coming in at the exact same time and every time I’ve come it’s been like that and they have handled it phenomenally.
If you’re able to pack, ship, notarize, return packages for 50 people in 20 minutes you deserve ⁶⁄₅ stars.
Thanks for making the average store that is a usual burden not a burden.

We came here for their notary service. The lady who helped us was fantastic. She was professional, efficient and walked us through the process. My husband used their notary service a few months ago and the man who helped him then was gruff, bored and abrupt. Today’s experience was the complete opposite.

I went in there and must have spent 20 minutes trying to make sure nothing would go wrong with an important shipment and the dipshit at the front desk kept reassuring me everything would go fine. Literally nonchalant about it all and as expected he made mistakes multiple times and guess what? My shipment is most likely fucking lost and I may or may not be out 120 dollars if I indeed have to file a fucking claim.

I’ve been coming to this UPS for years now. I used to sell a lot of things on eBay and the like and was in here at least one a week, and today I finally called on the store for its notary services. As for today, I could not have had a better experience. I had called yesterday to learn the availability of the notary on staff. Today I called to confirm before I went by the store, and, while speaking to one individual, I learned that the notary, another individual (Shima, i believe is her name. I’ve worked with her many times before and just never have asked her name) was going to step out for lunch but would wait for me, which she did. i really appreciated this team effort to make sure she was available when I was going to come by (and they didn’t even know I was in a semi-​urgent situation!!) Then when I got there, Shima could not have been more attentive and prompt and clear as she went about the notary process. In other locations, I have seen people wait ages for a notary, and that made we worried the process was going to be a pain in the ass, but here it was super simple and painless. Thank you!
As for the countless other times I have been in and not left a review, that’s my bad. I love this store. I’ll give you that it has some quirky characters. BUT I like working with all of them and I love that it’s the same core group of employees as have been there for years, now. I may not know their names, but I know their faces and voices. I’ve never had bad service here, EVER, and I’ve never had anybody be rude or unpleasant. Dry personality? yes. Neutra-​expression, monotone voice? yes. Not a chipper“welcome to UPS today, how can I help you?” yea, that’s not really the vibe of this store. and i find it totally refreshing. everybody who has helped me has been totally competent and has always offered me customer-​oriented info, like how to ship for the lowest price, etc. Thank you, Inner Richmond UPS Store!

Love it when I need to drop off a prepaid package. Couldn’t be easier.

The kid working here must have been stoned. I have never seen someone work so slow in my life. Also when there was a line of people out the door waiting to make quick purchases, he prioritized fixing a printer!

This is 100% a review for customer service. I just wasted ½ an hour trying to get a simple pdf and word document printed. I’ve been dropping by here for a few months and never had a problem with Shima, she is always courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Sadly, she was not there this morning and I had to deal with Ricky.

This is also a review for printing services (not shipping). I walk in and I email Ricky the 3 things I want printed. simple? not so much for Ricky. He opened my email and said there weren’t any attachments, there were. Then he «found» them. Ok, cool. I need 5 copies of each. Ricky: I can’t print word docs. wtf dude? Are you sure? IF YOU ADVERTISE PRINTING SERVICES MAKE SURE YOU CAN ACTUALLY PRINT! And I know you can print word docs b/​c you have before! (see above re: Shima). Ricky: I can only print pdfs. Ok dude, there is a pdf in there, how about you print me one of those and in the meantime I’ll convert my word docs (not fun to do on an iphone).
pdf printed, yay? not so much. Ricky printed a screen shot of my email. thanks pal, but not what I was looking for. He said that was the best he could do. really? the best you could do or the best you felt like doing? It was 8:45am and no one else was in the store so I get that if you have a line of people breathing down your neck you want to hurry me along, but you don’t.
Maybe Ricky should drink a cup of stronger coffee before his shifts oh and maybe learn basic computer skills.
Sadly, I probably won’t be back since this was a massive waste of time and with so many other options nearby not worth my time.

The only thing that ticked me off was that they stopped the Live Scan service after 5:00 even though the are open later than that and was not busy at that time. I came back the next day. I probably will never come here again, it was out of my way. I didn’t experience the lack luster customer service some of you experienced. I went in for a Live Scan, which is the cheapest in the city, $ 17.99. The process took about 15 minutes and I was on my way.

I have only experienced good, prompt customer service here as of late. Used to be a little lackluster but it looks like it’s really turning around. Shima is very attentive, upbeat, and helpful. Talking to her puts a smile on your face! Come on back, Unilocalers, it’s much better than it used to be.

This place is a pretty solid place to go for all of your UPS related needs. I’ve gone to return amazon textbooks, send packages, and get fingerprinted and they have been dealt with properly and professionally. There only seems to be a few people ever working there, so I would imagine things can get kinda hectic, but I have never had a problem with the wait time.

Jus dumb been here for a print out and thy made me waited for 30 min and They were not able to do the job and was told that they don’t know how to use the printing resize option and charged money for nothing. Evan u sucks Man U don’t know what is customer service. please try to talk to customer and nice and polite way.

Seriously… I stood at the counter for a good 15 minutes before I was acknowledged. All I wanted to do was drop off a pre-​paid package to ship. They seriously need to take a few lessons on management and customer service if they want to get my patronage again. Even a simple «hi, I’ll be right there» or «hey, be with you after I finish things back here» would’ve been appreciated. Instead, the 3 different folks walking around in the back just took a glance at the growing line of customers and simply ignored us. Psh! It’s a good thing I found a better place on Taraval to also handle my LiveScan needs. This place may be cheaper, but be warned, you may have your LiveScan results kicked back due to operator error… which from my experience with this place seems pretty likely.
Bottom line: avoid if possible!

I would give half star if I had an option. I haven’t seen a more rude hipster ever in my life than this guy. Went in couple of times as it’s closer to my house but frankly it’s not worth entering the store. He doesn’t know how to smile, how to talk & the service obviously is horrible.

I’d never come here again on purpose. I read the reviews beforehand, though, as I do with just about every new place I try. All of the other 1 star ratings are accurate. Dude behind the counter couldn’t care less I was walking in, barely looked up, barely spoke, obviously didn’t want to be there.
I will say that it’s clean and neat, though. But it’s dead inside with no soul.

The staff aren’t the friendliest of people, but they get stuff done. Mind you, I only came for the notary service and the livescan fingerprinting for an intern license, so I can’t weigh in on shipping and mailing.
My classmate and I walked in without appointments for the notary and livescan, which should be okay as long as you walk in an hour before the store closes. They sell packaging around the store, like miscellaneous envelopes for $ 0.19 each.
My classmate went to the counter first. He took her form, filled it out, had her fill out an entry in his black book, and then notarized the form with his official stamp. He rang up the two purchases in one transaction:
$ 49 for the government fingerprinting fee
$ 17.99 for the fingerprinting service at the store
$ 10 for the notary
He then left her at the counter while he went to the backroom and entered in her livescan information. After a few minutes, he asked her to come back for the fingerprinting, which took about 4 minutes total.
He had clammy hands.
Both of our transactions took 20 – 25 minutes total, which was largely due to the fact that the store was basically empty except for one customer ahead of us. But we were able to fit in a quick trip to Trader Joe’s before hopping on the shuttle back.
All in all, a reasonable price and decent service for fairly expensive services.
