Thee Parkside is an awesome little dive, and the best bar in the area(short of walking 20 minutes to Mars Bar). Lots of unique beers on tap, and the back patio area is nice. I heard they also have concerts here too, but I’ve yet to check them out.

I’ve given up on this place. Loud. Noisy. Rude bartenders with no character and a doorman that’s a prick. There are so many good places, why here?

Great Sunday spot. Thee park side came as a recommendation of my tour guide at Anchor Brewing around the corner. Walking in Parkside is a bit dark but grab a beer and walk to the vibrant covered patio out back. The patio is cozy, plenty of seating and cheapppp great food options. Perfect place to go with a group of friends and enjoy!

Haven’t been here since the 90’s… my man and I decided to have a quick lunch here this afternoon and I was pleasantly surprised at how yummy this«dive» bar’s food was! Not expensive meals that fill you up and the drinks are delish too! With the nice and sunny back area to have our meals and drinks at Thee Parkside, I was very impressed!

C’mon, Aimee. Why so harsh in 2009? Thee Parkside is divey but not too divey, the food’s dece, and the outside patio is great. It’s a civilized and merciful break from the tech crowd.

Yeah I like this place. Good selection of beer, and good bar foods. I like the punk vibe, also great small venue for shows.

Great venue and good people. I loved the mustard plug show and the $ 8 special was sick! Nice dive venue and being from out of town the folks there couldn’t of been nicer. Only thing is the pit didn’t start till he main act came on but other than that was sick.

Fun venue to see music at in the ‘Dogpatch’ area of SF. Parking is easy, beer is cheap. The food has been pretty decent over the years… The downsides: Due to having a large patio they can sell hundreds of tickets to a concert inside a bar area that holds about 100 people tops. This can make getting a drink, going to the bathroom, getting out of the way of a fight, or leaving difficult.(But ya came to see a show so deal with it) Also the large quantity of hipster/techie d’bags makes it not to fun to hang out before a concert. Having complained about that I love going to see bands here! I was there last week, going back in a few days… See ya soon Parkside!

What can I say, thank god for this place! My first several years in SF I’d go to the Pound for my punk rock/metal/underground music fix. But alas, that place eventually closed. Parkside offers similar acts(thanks Chris Powerhouse!), is in a safer location, and has that outdoor back patio which is a lifesaver. Good food, cold beer and access to fresh air! Main bar becomes a crowded sweatbox when the bands are on, but that’s all part of the experience. I was there to see the Cro-Mags on two occasions and both times, condensation started dripping from the ceiling from all the heat from the lights and humans. Or maybe it was blood(just kidding). I must make a point of coming here for their Sunday brunch and bands to have a more low-key time. Love every grimey inch of this place.

Burned buns, food even a hobo wouldn’t eat, and one hour wait for food. Not even worth a try. Just go somewhere else.

My first Unilocal review and I would give zero stars if I felt the need to express how bad this place is. I work a block away from here and I still couldn’t keep my lunch to under an hour. Ordered the carne asada tots and waited over 50 minutes for my food. The food itself was 2⁄5 at best. Never coming here again. Be warned.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Service here was the slowest I’ve ever experienced and the food was absolutely not worth the wait. My coworkers and I decided to try out this place for lunch since it’s only a block away. We ordered our food at 12:30 and I didn’t get my order until 1:30.(I am currently writing this review as half my table(4⁄7 people) have not received their orders). I ordered the grilled chicken panini and it was possibly the worst meal of my life. First, the sandwich is really small compared to everything else on the menu for the same price. The ciabatta bread it came in was so hard it cut the top of my mouth. There were 2 measly strips of chicken(maybe, and I had to look really hard for it). The whole thing was disgusting and tasted like cardboard. The tater tots were passable, thank goodness. At this point(1:40) my coworkers still haven’t received their orders(and they just ordered tater tots! They shouldn’t take an hour to make!) This place is absolutely horrible. Don’t ever come for lunch!

Went here with a couple co workers on a Wednesday. It wasn’t dead or crowded… Just right. The patrons and the employees were all awesome. 10 for a pitcher of heff. 5 for jack and coke. Not too bad and there were better deals too.

Most delicious veggie wrap and vegan burger ever! Stage setup is a little strange from the bands’ point of view, but the vibe is cool. Good beer selection as well.

To me this place is a hidden gem for Sunday brunch. Affordable bottomless mimosas and a new coffee stand attached to the bar! The breakfast burrito $ 8 was delicious & so was the breakfast burger with tater tots $ 11! Loved the $ 5 Payback Porter too!!!

Thee parkside is close to my house. Last time i went there for dinner, there was a cover charge, so we went to che maman instead. Overall the beer is good and the backyard area is cool.

I was told that this place was really«divey» but I didn’t expect it to feel like I had completely stepped into another era or culture. The entrance is pretty inconspicuous, making it seem like there’s not much going on inside(since it’s also located in a pretty deserted/quiet neighborhood). I stepped in, and was immediately confused. There was a guy playing the banjo in the first room, and everyone looked like middle-aged bikers from a rural part of the country. I then realized that there was a larger outdoor seating area(kind of like a warehouse/garden house feel), with a more diverse crowd of people + their dogs(of course… this is SF). I guess going into this experience, I already kind of knew I wouldn’t love it since I’m not really into dive bars… but I’m always open to trying something different, and thought I’d give it a shot. Trying to appreciate it for what it is, buttttttttttt I don’t know. Just not my thing, I guess. Maybe trying the food could have upped my rating a bit? If you want to escape SF culture and experience a different scene, though, it’s worth checking out.

A mixed crowd. Lot of tech workers, but also bikers and a group of old men at the end of the bar every day. They play a lot of Waylon and other country. The food is also good. The patio is a great place to hang out if the bar is too crowded.

Ended up here after a boozy brunch nearby. We wanted to keep the party going so we ended up here. The beer selection is pretty good! We really enjoyed the two we selected(dark beers, yum!) We then headed to the«outside» seating area, which is basically just a seating area in a greenhousey type area. They also sell food, but we didn’t have any. It looked good though. Turns out it was a great place to chill with friends and catch up. Plus others in the area decided to join up with us to continue the party and the evening fun!

Bad management and poor security with weird laws and strange people. I remember the days when this was a hip place, today it’s just a trashy spot with overpowered security guys. Get something better planned out for your night out, this is definitely one of the worse places in San Francisco. Jack and coke here tastes just like coke by the way. Trash trash trash!

Smoking a vaporizer is illegal here? Last time I checked vaporizers are ok on the plane — this place is ridiculous, security staff are rude and he kept on touching my shoulder as he was repeatedly saying the same thing not making any sense. Weird people and weird security as well as weird regulations inside that do not have a touch of reality. Don’t come to this trashy bar

Great beer garden covered outdoor area — cheapo drinks and PBR! The food looked good but we didn’t try any. They’ve got a good amount of picnic tables with a lot of turnover as the inside bar is connected. Not a super friendly crowd but such a cool and out of place venue in SF. We felt like we were in Austin! Cash only.

Super chill place to go. Came here many times after work with coworkers to celebrate going away get togethers, birthdays and anniversaries. The front area is a dark bar area with a super rad, old school photo booth, and the back end area has a sweet outside area with a bunch of tables and places to hang your bike. The carne asada fries are bombbbb. Oh, and they have extra dry Crispins for those gluten free folks, which has also been my go to drink there.

BOMBASSCARNEASADATOTS! We sat outside in the covered patio area which sort of felt like an atrium especially with the nice afternoon sun. Food orders are placed outside and drink orders inside at the bar. Drinks are pretty cheap here :) and come served in mason jars. I don’t remember the name of the drink we got but it was basically some kind of alcoholic sweet tea lemonade. Cash only.

The good: Cheap drinks, great live bands, street parking that’s free. Also the Tater tots were great. The bad: Service sucked. They had a live band playing but we’re playing the radio on the patio. I asked twice for the, to turn it off so I could hear the band. They never did. My burger sucked. It was overlooked and for some reason they thought it was smart to add ketchup and mustard to a burger of which I had ordered salsa on. The flavor didn’t mesh and there was so much sauce it dropped everywhere. I’d come again. Just would not do the burger. They had a carne asana tater tots I wish I’d have gotten. Next time.

Gotta love tots and a beer on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Parkside! The outdoor area is covered and creates an atrium-like feeling, which most welcome once the wind gets blowing. Order outside, take a number and then grab a beer inside while you wait. Simple, easy, cash only. There’s a new side option, some sort of seasoned fry. But I prefer tots hot and crispy. Open late night, which isn’t easy to find around these parts.
