Triple Aught Design

Bad customer service and attitude. I had a defective item and the employee said they will exchange if I bring it in. I brought it in a week later and the exchange was declined.

This is expensive clothing, but you get exactly what you pay for. I’ve traveled a lot, and when I’m packing for the next adventure, the clothing I got from TAD is where I start.

Incredibly well-​made yet stylish clothing and equipment, and super friendly staff! It’s pricey but well worth it. An item from here lasts forever.
My husband has been buying TAD gear online for years, both for himself and for me. The quality of the materials and the incredible attention to detail in the design will please even the most particular and discerning critic.
And, for me? It all looks fantastic. You could pay the same amount of money for the style alone at plenty of places, without the added quality and function of TAD gear. They use products like Merino wool and the fit is tapered and flattering. I love the outdoors, but the typical clothing that can keep you cozy and moving tends to be boxy and generally unfit for going anywhere but a cabin or a bar — not so, here! I can hike around all day and then go out to a nice restaurant in the same warm, pretty sweater.
Going into the store is an absolutely pleasure — it’s wonderful to be able to look at things in person rather than just ordering online, and the staff is super friendly and helpful! They actually use all of the products, so they’ve got you covered on any detailed questions you may have.

I’d been on an exploratory walk in Hayes Valley and one of the discoveries was Triple Aught Design. I’d actually never heard of TAD before, but I’m always willing to learn and adapt to new situations and the folks in the store were happy to enlighten me on the brand, its history and their specialty. And what’s stuck with me is this: locally designed and produced garments and gears for affordable prices.
My attention right away went to the display of pants. I really liked the casual design and the unusual fabric. And while I wasn’t in the market for a new pair of pants, I couldn’t resist but trying on various styles. And of course, you can imagine how the story ends: I bought a new pair of trousers!
This location will from now on be on my list of stores that I need to periodically check out!
