This little hold in the wall joint has some AMAZING burgers. I think that this is one of the best burgers that I have had. I got the hot mess, and what makes it is their sauce. It has a vinegary/spicy kick, kind of like a Louisiana hot sauce but this has way more flavor. I misunderstood the ‘hot mess’ part and expected a messy burger, but it is actually a very well constructed burger and holds up nicely — every bite is unique, but carries the theme… The jalapenos are a nice addition, but I think it should be called HOT mess or something. Still a very good burger. Sadly, I cannot taste what I call the«meat/cheese combo». You know that cheesy meat flavor that reminisces a burger mac or a hamburger helper. 5⁄5 The fries are eh. Salted and peppered. 2.5÷5 Overall I paid 11.52 for a burger, fries, and a can of soda. I’d come back for the burger alone.

Uncle Boys is a solid burger operation serving the Richmond district. Prices are moderate; food and service is great. Depending on the time of day, orders take around 10 – 15 minutes. They accept credit and debit if you order for pickup through the Unilocal app, meaning you can walk in and walk right out if you want. Just order ahead en route. The Cowboy burger is my go-to. Highly recommend for those who’ve never been to UB before. The mozzarella sticks are wonderful, as are the fries.

I have too many great late night memories involving walking to uncle boys and for that you deserve your 5 stars! Am I right guys? This is the place you take your friends looking for an authentic burger spot in the city without all that snooty bullshit. I still stick by my previous review about the food, it’s excellent! I love my food gluttonous and you get that here with all the fried goodies on a lot of the burgers. mmM Bacon and fried zucchini chips!

Their buns leave a lot to be desired. They are dry and completely affect the deliciousness of the rest of the burger.

Hands down the best burger spot! The place is super small so don’t expect to always get a seat; luckily golden gate park is just around the corner! Take your food to go and sit at the park by the roller skaters; it’s beautiful!

I struggle most with assigning a rating. This time, I want to say it’s a 5⁄10. Uncle Boy’s serves up burgers and fried things in a simple, no-frills, neighborhood spot. It’s clear they’re big fans of Manny Pacquiao. They cook up the food on the flat grill right by the doorway. There is a small fridge for beverages in the back. There are just a couple of small tables, so it’s mostly a takeout spot. The seats are usually occupied, so I just order for takeout, or call for pickup. The food is tasty, greasy, and messy. I’ve tried the following… APPETIZERS $ 4.55 Jalapeño Poppers — 5 fried jalapenos filled w/cream cheese $ 4.55 Mozzarella Sticks — 7 fried breaded mozzarella cheese sticks — super cheesy $ 4.55 Zucchini Chips — 10 breaded slices of zucchini $ 4.55 Onion Rings — 5 battered onion rings, fried Lots of fried items. They are mostly all crunchy & heavily breaded. The jalapenos are a little too spicy for me. The zucchini chips are hot and steamy inside. I couldn’t even tell what they were until I bit through one. FINGERFOODS $ 6.59 Wings — 8 deep fried: not bad chicken wings, a little petite BURGERS The burgers are pretty juicy & tasty and usually quite messy. I’ve seen them weigh out slabs of ground beef, shape & flatten them into thin, uniform patties. The cheese is always nicely melted over the patty. The buns are toasted, too. I don’t like the shredded lettuce, as it becomes soft and wilted. Takeout orders are especially messy and often dripping with sauce. Prices aren’t too bad for a small business establishment. $ 7.49 Nephew — grilled angus beef patty, jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, topped w/pesto mayo in toasted bun: good, basic burger with juicy beef patty. I can’t really taste the pesto mayo though. $ 7.49 Cowboy — grilled angus beef patty, American cheese, bacon, onion rings w/BBQ ranch sauce in toasted bun: crunchy, oily onion rings & juicy patty. I could definitely taste the BBQ sauce in this one. $ 7.49 Italian Stallion(formerly Mamma Mia) — pepper jack cheese, 3 mozzarella sticks, lettuce, marinara sauce in toasted bun: also crunchy & oily, with gooey, stringy mozzarella $ 7.49 Hip-Poppin — grilled angus beef patty, jalapeño poppers stuffed w/cream cheese, jack cheese, lettuce & tomato in toasted bun: also good, a little too spicy for me, but manageable with all the cheesy ingredients $ 7.49 Hot Mess — grilled angus beef patty, bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions, jalapenos topped w/hot mess sauce in toasted bun: good, way too spicy for me They also serve chicken sandwiches, vegan burgers, and hot link sandwiches. Now I’ve been pretty satisfied with most of the things I tried. How could I not be? It’s high-calorie fried food meant to satiate grumbling hunger pains. It was a good fallback option when you’re too tired to cook and need something filling. However, I haven’t returned in a while. I recall they had some serious management issues. There were many times I noticed Uncle Boy’s only had one person working in the entire place; taking orders in person, taking orders on the phone, cooking, handling payment, and cleaning. Well actually, poor guy had no spare time for cleaning. No wonder it’s hard to get through their phone line when placing a phone order. Need I mention sanitary issues having only one cook deal with cash payments too? After a couple of times of dealing with extremely slow service, I can’t even call it fast food anymore. Nobody should have to wait 45 minutes for a burger to go. When other patrons asked why he was on his own, he replied that the owner was too cheap to pay more staff members. I was surprised that he was so blunt, but I would be disgruntled too. I don’t know if they still deal with bottleneck problems during peak times(especially right around closing time), but it’s worth mentioning for people who are strictly looking for a time-saving option.

Hole in the wall burger place in an unassuming residential portion of Balboa. Hubby always wanted to try Uncle Boy’s since we’ve passed by it numerous times and he’s a burger fanatic. The burgers are a drunkie’s dream. And my hubby got one of them. It was called the Italian Stallion and had marinara sauce, pepperjack with jalapeño poppers and lettuce. I got the Nephews burger which had a slice of jack, lettuce, tomatoes and pesto sauce. There were two employees there, one female and one male. Thank goodness that the female was making our burgers, as the male didn’t seem to regard taking off his gloves when he was doing certain things. He may have been newer too as it looked like she was showing him what to do. We took our burgers to go and it took about 15 minutes for us to drive back home. The pesto sauce was delicious(store bought though). The burgers were a good size and at an affordable price. However, I wished both burgers were juicy. His sounds like the ultimate drunk food, but the jalapeño poppers were soggy. The burger wasn’t bad, it was just odd and we wouldn’t order them again. Fries were well seasoned and some were crisp. Overall, it’s not a destination spot, but a solid place in the area when the burger craving hits. Gotta give them props for some creative items!

This was the last place my wife and I wanted to try before we jumped on the New Year’s cleanse — at least until her dance competition was finished. And goddamn, this is what you call an awesome last hurrah. After a week of debauchery in Chicago for the holidays, we flew back home, bleary eyed and the following Sunday morning we were hankering for something… something salty, greasy, and absolutely delicious. My wife turns to me in bed and says, «baby, I want a big ass burger.» I’m like, «that’s why I married you, bitch.» I did unspeakable things to her afterwards, but the craving never went away. The thing about Uncle Boy’s is that it’s almost ALWAYS open when you need your fix. Screw the In ‘N Out nonsense, and the rest of those chains. We called Uncle Boy’s a second past 10:30am and they were ready to rock. Two burgers — a Hot Mess and the Jefe. I got mine with extra meat because ‘Murica. We supplemented this with well done fries, jalapeño poppers, cheese sticks. Boom. Five years off of your life, but it was an amazing way to ring in the New Year.

3.5 onion rings Perfect place for drunk eats. Nice help. Got a cheese burger and onion rings. Did it wow me? Not really but it fit the bill. I liked the atmosphere… In a sorta of funky dinghy way. There a few places in the inner Richmond that serve fare like this and I sorta liked that. You might also consider buffalo burger on geary blvd and Tony’s cable car… both are veru similar to Uncle boys. Drink Up!!!

What the F**CK Uncle Boy!!! How are you so f’ing good and SO cheap?! I’ve lived on the same block as you for 4 months and just now discovered your beautiful, delicious menu. My roommate and I rolled in tonight with red eyes and full hearts and you certainly did not disappoint. I would like to give a special thank you to your kind cashier who so graciously walked me through every item on your menu, even offering me samples! We ended up ordering the jalapeño popper stuff burgers(combo, of course) and it was insanely good. 5 stars for dank eats, 5 stars for a staff with a beautiful soul and 5 stars for some chill ass vibes. Keep it 100, Uncle Boy

Missed my bus so I thought I would stop by and pick up food since I had never been here and they are in my hood. Well– their food is good but it’s really unhealthy. Everything was deep fried this or breaded that. I also felt like I had to wait a while to get my food because they had so many online or called in orders. There weren’t many people around when I ordered but I guess everyone called it in because they were busy, but weren’t busy cooking my food and a lot of people came to pick up. So next time I know to call it in.

I wouldn’t say my burger or fries wasn’t good, but they certainly didn’t live up to the lore of Uncle Boy’s. I also HIGHLY recommend placing your order by phone and not ordering in person. The grill is small and their volume is high. My partner and I waited 30 minutes for our takeout. We were, however, treated to some high quality bickering between the cook and the cashier.

Lunch time coming up and since Uncle Boys was close to my place, I decided to try this place. I ordered pickup from Eat24. I ordered the Cowboy Burger as a combo, which includes a drink and mozzarella sticks. The last item being a choice. You can chose between mozzarella sticks, french fries, jalapeño poppers, zucchini chips or onion rings. I also ordered a side of onion rings and the BBQ wings(8 piece). There are other flavors beside BBQ, but I just wanted that one. I went to pick up my food then head on home to eat. The mozzarella sticks were okay, crisp on the outside. The onion rings were delicious. The wings tastes good by itself. The wings were crisp and crunchy on the outside and soft and moist on the inside. The BBQ sauce comes in a separate container that you can pour over the wings. The burger… yum. I ordered with the beef cooked medium rare and it was perfect. The beef was so tender and the sauce! The onion rings was a great combo and the bacon, oh my. The bacon was two thick slices sandwiched in between the beef patty and the bun. It was soooo delicious. Next time I’m feeling hungry, I’m going to get me that burger again. Maybe it was just my hunger talking but I’m pretty sure it was all my taste buds. Great food and close by, Uncle Boy is a great choice.

Old school greasy burger joint that serves good burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches. They also make good use of their fried sides. Some burgers include cheese sticks or jalapeño poppers… gut-bomb or hangover cure… and so worth it. This is a hole in the wall, so stay home if you’re looking for ambiance. Good food with excellent service. We’ll definitely be back.

Ok burgers. Good varieties but quality of eat and ingredients didn’t seem top. Taste could use some work. Could use a better drink selection. Good service. Typical roadside burger stop type place… in a neighborhood in SF…

A great hole in the wall burger joint. Tiny place with just a couple tables and some counter space. Sunday afternoon, the grill was manned by one person but our food was served up quickly. The high school girls behind the counter added to a great experience. Friendly, cheerful and helpful. The OG burger was neatly stacked and wrapped, juicy and really good. Also tried the chicken tenders which were pretty much extra large chicken nuggets but they were crispy, moist and pretty tasty.

Not a bad burger at all. I ordered the OG — a plain cheeseless burger as I usually do(unless otherwise recommended) to judge the quality of the meat and other ingredients. The meat was definitely cooked to perfection and dripping with fat. The other ingredients definitely tasted fresh too — you can see the produce on the side counters. The Unilocal check-in offer was pretty sweet. I got a free drink(choice of unlimited fountain drinks or a can/bottle from the fridge), and the server accidentally gave me fries too, even though I didn’t order any(he didn’t seem to care though). The fries were m average. Not exceptional, but pretty hard to mess up. However, what killed it for me was a combination of the 20+ minute wait due to the large number of take-out and delivery orders ahead of us, and the bun. The bun was too thick and dry and didn’t go well with the rest of the burger. Slimming down the bun would definitely go a long way in bringing out the flavour of the meat and toppings.

How are you feeling today? Kind of sad because you got another parking ticket and Dad asked you how your job search was going? Not so good eh? Well, go to Uncle Boy’s and order up a Dog in Heat! That dog will fill your mouth with such goodness that the bounce with return to your step and a satisfied smile will return to your face. Uncle Boy’s is comfort food on steroids. I had the Dog in Heat. A delicious Louisiana Link sliced down the middle and fried on a flat grill surrounded by chipotle sauce, lettuce and onion on a nice bun. Nothing mysterious or hidden about this food — as real as you can get; juices dripping down your hand in spite of the nice paper wrapper that comes with the dog — and you don’t care because it’s all emotion once the eating starts. Juices dripping from your jowls, down your chin as that Dog in Heat disappears and all of the flavors of bun, dog, sauce and vegetables have a little taste sensation party inside of your mouth. You want to scream, but your mouth is full of this amazing food! Sofie had the Nephew Burger and when I asked her how it was, she said«It’s good!» — but with a muffled mouthful of burger and not even bothering to look at me! She was in attack mode on that burger, head down and focused. She wasn’t about to waste time talking about it. Neither of us talked until our sandwiches were entirely gone. The fries were«so so» — nothing special. Others had onion rings and I coveted them mightily! Next time — I’m having the onion rings. You know this place is good because it would not stay in business what for the locals who are addicted to the food. There is hardly anywhere to sit in this tiny restaurant. Looking into the eyes of the patrons I see a longing and a hunger that is a little on the scary side. I mean, I’d not want to be behind the counter when someone comes in and wants a Dog in Heat and you have to say, «I’m sorry, we are all out.» Uncle Boy’s — it’s not better than sex — but it’s close!

The burger were big and the fries were ok. what turned me off was seeing them prep the chicken on the counter where they serve the food. The place is small but still people are walking in and out passing the counter and who knows what germs are flying around. We ordered drinks and weren’t told there was a soda fountain we only saw the can sodas The burgers are huge it got me full really fast
