Perfect sports bar for the area. Jen was our bartender, made a perfect bloody Mary. Drinks were fair priced and three best had a good amount people without feeling packed. Most importantly drinks were strong and came quickly.

Being in the restaurant industry, this was a place a few of us would come to for after work drinks before catching barts, muni’s and busses. I would not step foot in this place if my life depended on it at this point. Let me remind you I WORK in san francisco, I am not some local you would expect to be targeted. Imagine being a tourist. 1. This place attracts incredibly shifty people 2. The few times I did go in there I always had that nagging feeling something was off. Well, finally something bad did happen. While I had went to the restroom, my buddy was watching my bag that was on the floor between us. When I got back, I waved goodbye and left. It was only when I was on the bart that I discovered my wallet had been stolen from my backpack. I immediately called my friend and he said a guy to his right had started talking to him. We both think this was intentionally done to distract him. I immediately went in the next day and spoke with the bartender. It was all a big song and dance that«noone had turned anything in». It was incredibly suspicious. It has now taken me two months of putting fraud alerts on accounts, replacing cards, getting a new drivers license, filing police reports, etc. I only had $ 10 dollars in the wallet as I keep my cash in a hidden pocket in the backpack, but it is the things that cannot be replaced. photos of my deceased sister, a quote from a best friend. Still makes me sick to think about it. I give this place negative 10 stars just for the sheer sketchy, dangerous aspect that is going on in here.

Nice clean sports bar. 2 Pool Tables 10+ TVs to play any sports you want. Cheap alcohol prices. Definitely will be coming back.

All I can say is Texas A&M came from 13 down(10 down with 4 minutes to go) to beat Tennessee on the road, so that can’t help but affect my impression of USSB, and this review. Whoop! Anyway, it’s a nice, relatively small, neighborhood sports bar, just where the FiDi starts getting seedy(it’s probably technically in Tenderloin, but I’m not an expert on such things). Unfortunately, they opened on Saturday two hours later than their sign said they did. Anyway, good beer selection and pretty good bloody mary. The bartender(her first day, on loan from a bar nearby that was closed for renovation) was quick to switch not one but two TVs to the SEC channel for me(granted there was only one other guy there), but still, I appreciate that. Service was good and fast and the beer was cold, and the TVs all worked. That’s about all you can ask of a sports bar. They put on the Real Madrid game for one other guy there, so(early at least) they are happy to accommodate fans when possible. I have no idea what it’s like at USSB when it’s crowded, so you are on your own with that. There’s a couple of pool tables in the back and some iffy restrooms.

Very nice staff. There was a girl bartender with pink/purple hair and she was very nice(sorry, didn’t get your name.) Unfortunately, they were out of the first three beers that I ordered. Seating is hit or miss and very tight quarters. There are TV’s for the sports. One large screen at the end of the room and some smaller units surrounding the bar(a bit too small though.) No food here, so don’t come hungry. The doors were open the day that I was there on a 52 degree day. Quite cold inside. I would stop by for another beer, but it’s difficult to make it a long stay kind of place.

Cheap. Ok beer selection. Terrible, atrocious food. Lots of screens to watch sports on. Overall, this place is pretty bad. While they have enough screens to be considered a good sports bar, they stop the ball when it comes to food. They have essentially nothing. Only really gross, disgusting, nacho-cheese-from-bag«nachos» and frozen hot dogs for five dollars! That is it. Nothing else. So if you want to watch a game and eat some food, you are out of luck at this place. Their draft selection is above average. They have a good liquor selection. Drinks and beer are cheap. And I personally liked the fact they have pool tables. In addition, they do have a plethora of TVs. So you can at least be sure that you’ll be able to watch whatever it is you want to watch. To improve, they really need to improve their food selection and quality. Or make some deals with nearby restaurants to have them deliver to the bar. Also their men’s bathroom doesn’t have a lock. So one cannot poop in peace. I would not come here again.

We were looking for a place to watch some of the nfl games before heading to the airport and came across this place. I will agree with others who have reviewed– it is hot in that place. The tables were dirty; we had to ask the waitress to wipe one down for us. Lots of tv’s which was good and the waitress came right over and took our drink order. There was just no atmosphere and the staff just looked like they simply didn’t care. The bartender was outside smoking and talking with friends more than half the time. He had on sweatpants that were hanging off his butt, showing his boxers, with a dirty white tshirt. I honestly kept thinking I was on that tv show«Bar Rescue», before Jon Tafer comes in and tells them how horrible it is.

Pretty bad. The place is about 30 degrees warmer than it is outside. The waitress wouldn’t allow me to open a tab, and kept turning my game to other channels. When I tried to ask her to turn it back, I couldn’t get her attention to save my life. Do yourself a favor and walk a couple of blocks to Golden Gate tap room.

No real atmosphere — went to watch UVA game and Barcelona vs. Atletico. Had a few beers… which made me hungry… but they don’t have a kitchen! No I will not eat the hotdogs they have or the nachos. I wanted real food.

I came here with some friends to catch a pre season 49ers game. It’s wasn’t very crowded so the seats were easy to find. Tons of tvs, so definitely great for game days. The service from Jessica was outstanding, she’s great! Only down fall was it was a warm day in the city and it was hotter in the bar than outside. Other than that, cool sports bar in an easy location.

I could follow the lead of others and label the Union Square Sports Bar a trendy hub of testosterone with mediocre drinks and service. Or, as one reviewer oddly describes it, a «predominately strange male environment.» But that would be too easy. Sure, this isn’t the standout in a neighborhood that is packed full of super unique bars with incredible cocktails, but what they do they do right, and that will keep me coming back. That«male environment» is most likely due to the 20+ flat screens that adorn the walls showing every sport imaginable. As the name so subtly implies, this is a sports bar. It’s actually refreshing to find a sports bar near your hotel when the only other options in five square blocks are high-end cocktail bars or dives you could easily get shanked in. The service and the drinks aren’t anything exceptional, but they do the trick when your main goal is to belly-up, grab a buzz and watch the game for a couple hours. This may not be everyone’s cup of tea, and that is understandable. If you are looking for someplace comfortable and welcoming to escape, have a drink and take in a sport or two, this should be high on your list.

Hidden gem of union square. Could not have picked a better place for a mid afternoon drink that turned into a spot we enjoyed during our whole trip in San Francisco. Brian was awesome and kudos to the owner of the bar for placing such a guy to run the bar. Everything was reasonably priced and the service was great. Will definitely be back, next time I am in town.

Stumbled upon this spot in between bars and in the moment didn’t truly appreciate it for what it was. In hindsight this may have not been the best place for a quick drink, but as a place to come to watch a game with your guys — this is just the place. Picture if you will your ultimate man cave in your mind. Mine would be well stocked with lots of easy to drink nothing fancy booze varieties to start. It would be no frills but still look amazing with exposed brick, comfortable seats and token beer lights and beer schwag in the walls. It would have tons of TVs playing every game that’s on that night. And pretty gals serving bar. This spot has it all! I didn’t get a chance to try their pub grub, but I imagine they cover the bases reasonably well. If your visiting SF and are looking for a familiar place to catch your favorite team, I’d recommend stopping here.

A Dirty Dive. Frito pies, beer, vodka sodas, and lots of TVs. That’s really all you need to know about this place. It’s also centrally located between the Tenderloin and tourist traps as far as the eye can see. Need a Frito Pie break? You’ve found the place.

This place is awesome! Brian, the manager, is a great guy. He suggested a few of his favorites and offered us a sample of something we hadn’t heard of. He let me be a pain and have extra oranges with my shock top. Later, my friend needed a phone charge and Brian graciously let us borrow an Anker. We are from out of town and wandering into this cosy place has been our best move in sf all day. Cheers Brian! Thanks.

Came here on a Sunday night with some girlfriends to grab a quick beer after the Giants game. The doorman was rude when we accidentally walked in with water bottles, as if they were filled with liquor and we were being sneaky. Yeah sorry bud this is water and yes we will leave it at the front. Walked in and noticed it was really warm and humid in the bar. Not sure if they don’t get good air flow inside or why it smells weird but wasn’t planning on staying very long in the bar. Its a predominately strange male environment. Ordered a beer and the pricing was reasonable. There were lots of TVs which was nice. Looks like they do bar food specials but we didn’t order any. Two pool tables were in the back where some sloppy drunks yelled obnoxiously through out the night. Not bad but it was overall an uncomfortable visit and wouldn’t go again.

Brian is a fantastic bartender. Great place. You’d be a fool to pass this place up. Great selection of beers and liqueurs. Right up the street from the Powell Street Station!!! A definite must. Drop in. You won’t be disappointed… I promise. Ask him about his favorite tequila.

Don’t you just love today’s technologies? With the invention of digital satellite television, you can get an endless amount of television programming. Especially most sports bars; now they can subscribe and program to any sporting events. Many of my followers know I am a huge NBA fan. My first visit after shopping I just walk by and saw an NBA game on the bar’s huge screen. Now I know a bar in the area that also shows an NBA game. Then, I came back on a weekend to hopefully watch a marquee NBA game on one of twenty televisions. But a large majority of the patrons were watching Pro and College football games. So basically watching an NBA game or any sporting events of your choice on one of the televisions is a challenge on the weekends. But I do like the large selections of brews on tap, including the Anchor Steam: California Lager… yum! I would definitely come here again on a weeknight, where most NBA games are televise.

Umm words can’t explain. All the drafts were out and the choices of beer were minimal. It’s a cheap place for drinks which is a good thing. But overall I would pass by to another one if nearby. I’m confused as well they have Spanish music in a sports bar.

Eh, it’s okay. It’s not terrible and it’s not that great, it will do when you feel like having a beer and watching a game. The clientele are certainly interesting, they range from Financial District workers to workers who look like they came from a bar in West Virginia. Great place to watch hockey thought, I had a good time. The drinks were cheap and the bartenders were nice.
