Large space good for casual friend dates or a quick bite. I’m not much of a cider drinker, but find they have a well represented beer selection as well. Service at the bar can be slow, as everyone orders through the 2 bar men(food + drinks alike!) but the food comes out quick.

We went on a Wed night after hearing great things about this place from a coworker. I was not disappointed! Tried their passionfruit cider and Ace cider. Passionfruit cider was a recommendation from bartender and it was too sweet for my taste but Ace cider was pretty awesome. We ended up ordering garlic fries and sweet potato fries with blueberry ketchup. I was really hoping to like blueberry ketchup after reading other Unilocal reviews but it was not for me. Loved their garlic fries though! Also, ordered potato flatbread and it was yummy. We really wanted to try their caramel bread pudding but they sold the last one and told us that we will have to wait another 40 mins for it so we skipped it. The best thing was the ambiance of this place. I am not a big cider fan but it was very chill place to come with friends and hang out. I would definitely recommend this place! :)

Extensive list of ciders with description. English ciders are very good. My friend and I tried a couple of the Williams ciders, and the better one was perhaps the Dragon’s Breath. Spicy due to the ginger, but it gave the cider such great flavor. Prices are okay… average alcohol prices $ 6 – 8 per bottle(unless they are 20+ ounces)

Cider selection looks good, but it takes 10 minutes for the bartenders to even look at you and then you order a cider and they say«we don’t have that one. Choose another». I’m not going to play Go Fish with your bottle list. Print some up to date menus! Decided not to pay $ 6 – 7 for a *slider*. The $ 11 pint of cider my roommate got was tasty. I won’t be going back. Don’t go here unless you have money – and patience – to burn.

I can’t believe this place exists. A bar dedicated to ciders! There are SO many. My favorites are definitely the ones from the UK they have here. I enjoyed the pear cider from Ireland a lot last time I came here. They even have a cider from New Zealand! In addition to ciders, there is a good amount of other beers. I was unaware that kombucha beer exists, but it does and they have it here. It’s a gastropub, so there is a pretty extensive food menu. I can’t comment on any of the food because I didn’t order anything, but my friend said the flatbread was good.

Sweet spot! Lots of ciders on the menu, including pumpkin — yay! They have cider flights too. Pretty average prices $ 7 – 8 a glass of cider. The food looked good but we didn’t get anything. For 11pm on a Friday it wasn’t too busy which was nice.

I really liked this place. Big fan on bars on second level buildings. The ambiance is cool and I like how everything is seat yourself. A cider bar is cool. I tried three ciders, all great and they might be a bit pricey but I think it’s worth it. I mean where else is there a strictly cider bar? Props. While I’m still giving this 4 stars, the food wasn’t great … At least what I tried. We had the kale flatbread and it was pretty bland… my bad though, I order kale. The zucchini bites were just ok. I had some serious food envy for the girl next to me eating a slider. Next time.

Moving from the Midwest out West could be summed up in one glorious word«ciders!!» Chicago had it’s fair game but there seems to be an explosion of new cideries opening up on the West Coast and PNW. This is definitely a great place to come and try some unique ciders. They do have an extensive menu, but you will pay a premium for some of these ciders too. I actually came here on Halloween, and, amazingly, there was no line during the prime hours to get in. More of a sit-down place than a club, the interior had a really cool vibe. Their list was extensive and they definitely had a great variety, but most of the drinks seemed overpriced. That’s my main beef. Must be to pay rent in a location that prime.

I went to this cider bar with excitement and high hopes of being able to select from variety of ciders. I was SUPER happy to see such an extensive list of ciders, including tasting notes of each, and origin of each; a concept not new to Seattle or Portland, so Im stoked SF is catching on. We ordered the salmon slider which was smothered(to a fault) in pesto and a mayo thing and eggplant slider, both on a cabbage roll(versus bread, as I am gluten-free). We also did the sweet potato fries w/blueberry ketchup which was good. For 2 small ciders + 2 small roles and 1 order of fries, our bill was $ 45 + tip. I know SF is pricey, but the food prices here felt really high for what we got. I would go back, but for drinks only.

I usually like amber or dark beer, so apple cider is my «guilty pleasure.» Needless to say, when I’m craving cider, this place is heaven! Pages of choices! I was too excited to read through the menu, so I selected off the chalk board. But I will definitely come back since there was lots on the menu that looked interesting. Great vibe. Not the best bar food ever, but nice that you can grab a bite to eat. The focus is of course the cider after all, and it’s delicious!

1. This place is dedicated to Ciders(hence the name Upcider) There are 3 pages in their menu solely dedicated to ciders, small beer selection, offers non alcoholic beverages and food.(so tempted to try the eggplant sliders but I had already eaten.) 2. Order at the bar We were given menus and greeted as we entered and instructed to sit wherever. There were signs on the wall indicating to order at the bar, subtle yet effective. 3. Look up Upcider is located above another bar/restaurant. Up the entry stairs and to the left, they have a beautiful location. Dimly lit and spacious, long tables made for groups and parties, more intimate seating near the windows with a nice view of the hustle and bustle of Polk Street 4. Have a Cider I feel like I cannot give a complete review because I had an Old Rasputin and it was bottled. I’m not a big Cider fan but I really think the variety in this place can change my mind. I’ll be back soon Upcider

What an SF treasure. Finally a bar that takes hard cider as seriously as it takes beer. Not being a beer drinker, I hate going to a bar to see that they only sell one type of hard cider, and mostly as an afterthought. For people like me, the Upcider is a revelation. They have Hard Ciders from around the world, and most of them are under $ 10. Every time I go I try out something different, and really recommend the Irish and English ciders, which are very smooth and crisp. You could go to the bar all year and always be able to try something different. The food is great too. It’s gastro-pub style, with a lot of great slider options(the peppered salmon is my favorite), and some other really savory dishes. I’ve had the creole shrimp a couple of times, and the buffalo fries are good too. Throw in nice décor, and the fact that the bar is on the second floor means great views of Polk Street. Being at this place means you’re going to have a good time, and drinks that you can’t get anywhere else in SF.

Upcider’s dishes strike a 3.5star for me, but I really enjoyed the intimate ambiance and open setup, which bumps it up for me. I feel like this is a venue that’s really malleable to many different occasions, and the overall comfort this allows its many guests is lovely. I came with a group of friends on a casual triple date, and initially it wasn’t very full. By the 8pm or 9pm mark though, things were definitely heating up, especially with the interesting beer and cider selections offered. Service is more on the casual side, and I loved the self-serve water in mason jars and barrels. Prices are a bit high for the quality of the food, but I didn’t expect differently given the location and décor. Spicy lamb upslider: ( ) The lamb really came through on this upslider(such a cute name), but I didn’t get too much of the spiciness. I could taste the quality of the meat, which was nicely set off by the somewhat bitter greens and pickled vegetables on the side. It’s a very small slider though, and it was gone in about two small bites. Garlic fries: ( ) French fries: ( ) I felt like the fries here were well-fried but underseasoned, especially the garlic fries. I only detected a hint of garlic in those fries, although the minced parsley(I believe?) was a nice touch. Turkish flatbread: ( ) Pulled pork flatbread: ( ) Out of these flatbreads, I am partial to the pulled pork one despite my affinity for lamb. The Turkish flatbread with ground lamb and beef veered slightly on the salty side, and it was a bit one-dimensional in flavor despite having good quality ingredients and being well-made. The pulled pork flatbread had a sauce that was a touch too sweet, but the fresh cilantro and red onions on top balanced it nicely. I would have loved some minced cilantro on top in addition to the sprigs, but that’s just me because I think cilantro lights up almost every dish. Mac and cheese: ( ) I only had a bite of this dish, but it felt a little bland to me. The cheesiness fell a little short, as well as the browned crust on top that I’ve come to love in traditional versions of mac and cheese. I would probably not order this particular choice again. The adaptability, careful yet classy presentation, and overall intimacy of this restaurant makes me want to come back for a variety of occasions. even with my apple allergy.

Was in the area bar hopping and stumbled upon Upcider, which I’ve been wanting to try for ages! I’m a fan of cider, both sweet and dry. The bartender was really helpful when she could tell we were a bit overwhelmed with the menu(there’s a lot to choose from!) I decided to go with a pear cider and LOVED it. So refreshingly delicious! My other 2 friends liked their choices as well. The cute mason jar cups added a nice touch. Great place if you love cider, and worth trying even if you don’t!

Came here because we were gonna go bar hopping in the area except we were a bit early and ended up going to up cider to grab another bite(gluttonous I know) . I have never been to up cider before nor heard of it, but they have a huge selection of ciders !!! I’m not much of a drinker, but there were so many ciders here, they even had a kombucha cider! I wasn’t that hungry but my friends ordered the Mac & cheese, potato flatbread, and buffalo fries to share. The food came out within 15 minutes, and they were served very hot !! The buffalo chicken fries had a lot of flavor !! The fries themselves were super tasty but the blue cheese sauce on top really gave it the most delicious flavor(my friends said that since I can’t eat blue cheese) the Mac & cheese was sooooo creamy and cheeses, although the portion size seemed small, it’s so heavy it’s really hard to eat that much of it. The potato pesto flatbread was very crispy and fresh. There was a lot of flavor and texture packed into each bite. The food here is a great greasy and tasty way to fill up before going out. I would suggest this restaurant in your in the area and want a quick bite to eat and aren’t that concerned about calories.

What a great find; I loved Upcider! This might have in part to do with the fact that I really enjoy hard cider, but besides that, this is a really fun place! I came here on a Sunday evening and the place was pretty empty. You order at the bar and then seat yourself. I got the blood orange, tangerine cider: it was not as sweet as I wanted it to be but it was a really interesting drink! They literally have 3 – 4 pages of ciders so I can’t wait to come back and try dozens and dozens of other flavors. To eat, we shared the sweet potato fries, mushroom flatbread, and the zucchini cakes. In my opinion, this was too much food for 2 people! The sweet potato fries came with a blueberry ketchup which was delicious — such a great addition to the fries! The mushroom flatbread was pretty good and paired well with the cider. Warning: there are a LOT of mushrooms on the flatbread so only order this if you LOVE mushrooms. The zucchini cakes were just ok — I’ve definitely had better. They were a little dry and flavorless. Overall, I had a great experience and Upcider and I will be back again with a larger group of people because this restaurant is pretty big!

Love Love Love this place! It doesn’t feel that I am in a restaurant, feels like I am visiting my friends, everyone is so welcoming and friendly, easy relaxing ambience. Busy but not overwelming. My favorite dishes to order is Turkish Flatbread, it is very delicious, thin crispy crust, lamb slightly spicy, perfect with perfectly dressed arugula salad. Mushroom flatbread is delicious as well. Bread pudding served with mint cream is a great ending to your meal, yumm. Huge selection of ciders, even though I am not big fan of ciders, but they have delicious selections of wines.

My friends and I decided to go bar hopping on Polk Street. This street has TONS of bars to choose from. Our first stop was upstairs at Upcider. My first reaction to this bar was ‘WHOA. The selection of cider here, is pretty nuts.’ I have never seen such a selection before! They literally had pages and pages of ciders to choose from. Of course the only way to go in these kinds of situations is to have everyone pick the one that sounds the best and then we just sit down talking story while rotating the drinks in a circle. Best way to sample multiple at once~!
