TL;DR– Take your business elsewhere, there are several other discount stores within walking distance that offer the same or better goods AND with better store policy and customer service. Various assortment of merchandise for home, kitchen, bath, garden, etc. However, be wary of their quality and longevity. I don’t think the cheap prices make up for them. People that work here are absolutely awful. Being 1st generation immigrants and lack of English are no excuses for lack of customer service. I don’t know why they bother posting their store«policy» up front next to their cash register and printed on the receipt if they won’t adhere to them. I got into a nasty arguement with a worker when I tried to return an item that fell within the store policy. When I demanded to speak to a higher-up because no sense or logic was getting through to this woman, she insisted there was noone available, called someone over the phone, and told me the supposed manager’s answer, expecting me to be okay and believe the bullshit. After few more minutes of talking, where I expressed my frustration, anger, and incredulousness at being treated in such disrespectful and mocking manner, the worker gave me the phone number where I could talk to this supposed manager. I called and tried to explain my situation, this«boss lady» would not even hear me out or express any sort of apology and hung up on me while I was talking. What kind of business is this? I’m surprised this shithole is running considering how the paying customers are treated so poorly.

I normal would not take the time to write a review for a store like this but the service was so terrible I had to speak up. Now I understand this is a immigrant run store so the service is not going to amazing, but this was way below my normal standards for stores like this. I went in to return a item I have bought the day before, they told angrily that they only do exchanges. I was already hesitant since I didn’t feel my return deserve such attitude. I ask them if I should leave my item here and they yelled«OFCOURSELEAVETHISHERE, WHATYOUWANTTOBRINGITWITHYOU». This definitely surprised me but I went a head a picked out a item. It was labelled at $ 1.50 and I brought it to the register. They marked the item as $ 1.99 I asked why the item was $ 1.99 since the item was clearly labeled that way. They yelled back at me asking if I was blind. I went back to where I got the item to make sure I wasn’t in the wrong but it clearly stated $ 1.50. At this point they refused to work with me and had me wait as they attended other customers. I’m only writing this review because I want to warn others of the poor service I experienced here. They not only yelled and argued with their customers they would even mark of the prices of their items. If you do decided to shop here be prepared for mark ups and terrible attitude.

Whatever you need for your home you will likely find it here, provided it’s made overseas. Scrubbers, dishes, pots and pans, and plenty of other random things. I’ve bought some of those green dish scrubbers and while cheap, they didn’t last long. In fact, most of these items here won’t last very long, but it’s cheap. If you think about it, it’s actually MORE expensive since you have to buy that much more to have the stuff last as long as the brand name goods. Not bad, and will do in a pinch.

Cute. Sort of the Kai Mei of the Sunset.

This is an OK variety store with a little bit of every type of household items you may need, with a few brand names to go along with the cheaper generic brand items. The thing for me to remember later on is that here they have the CFL light bulbs at 4 for $ 1 when the need for them arises.

we i think they are are a good store. they sell crocs and i bought a pair for 5.99 instead of paying the 25 dollars at the crocs website. my guess if that the company gave the crocs to this variety store because they didn’t sell well and overstocked at the actual store(kind of like ross where they buy un popular stuff to be sold for less) im glad i save so much on comfortable shoes. bad quality on everything else, mainly the tools and kitchen ware. i also go there about for sodas and refreshments as i was back from school.

Formerly a pizza parlor, Yes Variety occupies the SE corner of 25th/Irving. It sells mainly made in China curois, tools, and trinket type materials. The quality of the product is poor, particulary the tools, and they are a little pricey for the low quality merchandise. But I guess you can charge what you want as the old Chinese folks that shop there probably have no choice. It certainly is nothing compared to Big Lots or other American discount stores. I walk by almost everyday and notice a Subaru Outback wagon that is parked in front nearly everyday with a handicap card. I wonder if they(probably somebody that works here) are abusing it. I go in and buy some throw away things such as sticky fly trap paper. I bought some inexpensive screw drivers once and they were so poorly made that the tips quickly wore out. I would be reluctant to buy anything that you have to consume as the reputation of Chinese manufacturers is poor. I also would be careful about buying bowls made in China as their quality control is so poor that it probably is lead infused. I buy Japanese bowls as I trust their quality control. It is a curiousity to go in there just to poke around. The service is average to poor and they are typical Chinese immigrants that have little to no customer service skills. I saw a review that called it Irving Best Bargains. Maybe they have several different names for this place.
