Yokos Designs In Flowers And Plants

I was leery of placing my order after seeing the pictures and negative reviews. But, I found Yoko to be so kind and helpful. The flowers were such a beautiful bouquet as well!
Here’s the background of how I was referred to Yoko. My mother Inlaw had her 87^th bday so we wanted to bring her for a nice brunch. Of course Magic Flute was one of the best. Since I had a out of state meeting to attend to, Reservations were made well ahead of time. But at the last minute, I called the restaurant to see if they can help me purchase flowers for a fee. Instead, Joe was so kind to walk over to Yoko next door and have her call me. I spoke to Yoko on three separate occasions and came up with a price point. She made sure it would be delivered on the day of the brunch and would set the bouquet on the table, plus place balloons on the chair for the birthday girl. When my mother Inlaw walked in and saw them, she was so pleasantly surprised.
Back to the flowers. I requested some stargazers. Roses and greens. Yoko didn’t disappoint us! All the flowers were very fresh; it would definitely last well over 7 days.
I am so happy I decided to order from Yoko. Sorry to the others who had a terrible experience but she did not disappoint my mother Inlaw or I at all. Also, Magic Flute was of huge help at the last minute.

I am not sure what my husband ordered exactly and whether he ordered the bouquet directly or through some website, but I received to my office a very beautiful bouquet of roses, lilies and pretty greens. The roses were perfect, perfectly slightly open, not a blemish, beautiful color, and the whole composition was very tasteful. The last part is, frankly, rare. Very happy with the arrangement, and will use again. I agree with the reviewer re the pink bouquet — the flowers were very tasteful, and the florist clearly has a very nice vision.

Horrible Costumer Service. Owner is rude and disrespectful towards customers as well as employees.

After a failed order from FTD, I told myself that I would not want to order from them again, But, I like to give businesses the benefit of the doubt and decided to order through FTD. The arrangement I ordered went through Yoko’s and what was received did not look close to what was shown on the website. The only thing that was similar where the orange gerbera daisies. The arrangement looked liked someone grabbed a whole bunch of flowers and fillers and threw them into a vase. It was disappointing. If that was the case, I could have done it myself and saved me $ 70. This review deserves two stars but because Yoko called me to let me know that the flowers were going to be left at the door (I guess no one was home) I gave it an extra star.

After a misfire with a Teleflora arrangement that didn’t look in real life too much like the picture on Teleflora’s website, Yoko’s put together and redelivered the most gorgeous bouquet of some of the most fragrant, fresh, beautiful flowers I have ever received. Yoko’s artistry really shone through when they got the green light to design flowers instead of duplicate a crappy Teleflora configuration. The moral of the story is: order from local florists directly when sending flowers. The barriers that prevented us from doing so back in the old days before the internets are no longer a factor. Thanks, Yoko’s. I wish I’d photographed them in their full glory the day they arrived but it says something that they still look good four days later!

I don’t usually leave a comment after I shopped. I can’t wait to complain about this place. My boyfriend said when he called in, he asked the staff to design a heart shape surround with red rose and fill the inside with pick rose. They said ok and charge him about $ 300. But what I got is actually just a long stemmed flower which only cause $ 59 shown in their Website. We were so mind. This is a horrible place. Please never shop in this place!!!

My Husband ordered through FTD and unfortunately they used this Florist! The first bouquet I rec’d yesterday was SMALL, I informed my Husband/​showed him a pic of what had been delivered. He showed me what he actually ordered so he called FTD and they would contact the florist to pick up this one and deliver a new bouquet. Well the 2^nd one was worse, I turned it away. I called the shop and the owner/​Mgr said well when it opens it will be fuller UM NOT! There’s not enough roses/​carnations for it to ever look like the FTD photo! We’ll be calling FTD tonight and requesting a refund! These are not $ 80 flowers!

My parents ordered flowers online for my birthday, and it ended up going through Yoko’s. They were supposed to be delivered on the 10^th, but were accidentally delivered on the 1^st. No one was home anyway, so Yoko’s delivery took them back. I did receive them on the 10^th, during the massive storm, and Yoko’s was kind enough to hide them out of the rain. Yoko also called and left me a voicemail letting me know and apologizing for the previous error too.
I don’t really care because THEY’RE BEAUTIFUL. My mom wanted something different, like a winter arrangement instead of the traditional flowers-​in-​a-​vase. The arrangement is just spectacular, with bits of fur tree and pinecones and white roses and beautiful ribboning throughout the arrangement and in the vase. It’s only been a few days and so far they’ve been holding up really well with just water changes.
I’ve not ordered directly from Yoko’s, but I do appreciate the phone calls to keep me up to speed, and the arrangement is just spectacular. Overall, I think they did an OK job.

While I did not care for the arrangement, or lack thereof, I am giving Yoko’s another star because my roses still look gorgeous after 2 weeks and I didn’t do a thing to them!!!

I’m at a location that receives flower arrangments from all over SF.
The arrangements from this company are always small and the flowers are never thriving. You are lucky to have a variety of one to two types of flowers.

I don’t usually leave bad reviews. Ever. But, I just had to leave this one. I was trying to do same-​day delivery for a friend whose grandfather just passed. I actually called the florist directly, so no blaming Teleflora or whatever. I asked her if it would be possible to deliver at 8pm. She says «yes.» Sort of.
The florist starts talking about how even if I say 8pm, my friend probably won’t even be there until 11pm. I assured her they would be there at 8pm.
Then she starts saying that she is the one that has to wait around until 8pm so she might just go there earlier and drop the bouquet off outside. She said that she doesn’t want to have to wait around at the shop until 8pm only to find that my friend is still not there at 8pm.
First of all, I knew for a fact my friend wasn’t going to be home until around 8pm to receive the bouquet. Second, you could have just said that 8pm was too late. That way you don’t have to WAIT around.
Anyways, I promptly told her I’d gladly order from somewhere else and she seemed just peachy keen about it. The end.

After ordering from ProFlowers online (which i give below zero stars), I called customer service to get the name of the local florist so i could offer up some helpful and important delivery tips. They refused to give me that info and is another story. They said I could tell them, and they would include the notes with the order. Okay. I said my wife is not a patient at the hospital, but an employee. Also she works night shift after 7pm so early delivery is not necessary. These notes/​hints were either not passed on or simply ignored by somebody at Yoko’s Designs (which i later found to be the local florist)
The delivery person from Yoko’s called my wife (i regret giving her number when asked for the recipient’s info online-​) while she was still at home, asking her questions that they would have known if someone would have cared to read my notes for the order. Thanks for ruining the mystery buddy… that’s a huge part of the order and cost, to deliver them to a workplace and get a nice surprise out of it. When she gets to work, she can’t find the flowers because they were still delivered to the wrong unit.
The only reason for the 2 stars instead of 1, is that the flowers/​arrangement/​vase were very impressive and my wife loved them. I am still upset at myself for ordering from ProFlowers. Will just deal with the florist myself and get a more personal experience, and probably not get overpriced and unsatisfied.

never ever ever buy through 1 – 800 flowers or teleflora, always always buy directly from the actual flower shop and you will get much better flowers. even if these 1 – 800 flowers and other flower wire services have better «deals», they take an outrageous fee leaving the actual florist with about ½ of the money the customer paid for. So please stop complaining about quality and start calling flower shops directly instead of trying to get cheap prices through these awful services, and stop supporting these services as well. once you do that see how much the quality will improve.

My boyfriend ordered flowers, with a balloon, offline for me. When they arrived the flowers were nothing like the picture and the balloon they sent was just a red heart balloon with the words «i love you» scrawled across it in black sharpie. When I called they told me they were out of the one my boyfriend ordered, so they just had to write on it; i would have preferred no balloon at all. They came to replace the flowers and they still look nothing like the picture and the balloon is still completely wrong. When the boy dropped them off I said thanks and he said «ok». Incredibly poor service all around.

We received a phone call confirming our flower delivery around 2:30pm, which arrived at 8pm 5 ½ hours after the phone call arranging delivery. (we were told they mistakenly thought we lived in Oakland– we live in SF. Similar to some other reviews, the arrangement which cost about $ 50 looked like something bought off the street for $ 5. Several daisy’s were almost dead and 2 stems broken. A call the next day indicating our dissatisfaction yielded a promise of a replacement by 11:30am which arrived at noon.
Being available to accommodate their abysmal delivery efforts made comcast seem easy, what they attempted to pass off as acceptable definitely was not and they are anything but courteous over the phone.

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!! My husband ordered a anniversary bouquet of tulips for the price of $ 75 :(I thought he was joking when he told me what he paid since it was only 13 tulips and a tiny vase… You should be ashame of sending out a sad bouquet like that… I could have gone to Safeway and got a nicer bouquet of tulips/​Maria

Yikes! I guess my mom lucked out when she ordered me a flower arrangement from telaflora. The flowers I received were gorgeous and looked beautiful for over a week.
I glanced at some of the other reviews. Really not sure what to make of it. The arrangement I got was beautiful.

I ordered flowers for my wife for valentines day. The guy arrives after 5 so no problem (busy) but the flowers were all broken, like they were sitting in his car all day. Stems with no flowers WTF. I ordered these from

Ordered $ 50 arrangement (not including $ 10 delivery charge) for get-​well gift. Twice clarified wanted to spend $ 60 total. Person from the shop called me back to again clarify $ 60 total is all I wanted to spend. Arrangement arrives and it is beautiful but totally small and dinky for $ 60. Imagine my suprise when today I receive a statement from them showing they charged me $ 75 and change!!! I call the shop and they will do nothing for me. Absolutely was irked at paying $ 60 for this arrangement let alone $ 75. They will NEVER hear from me or anyone at my place of business again.

Wow, I am totally surprised by the negative reviews. I have gotten several arrangements here and they have been thoughtfully done with lovely, fresh flowers.
I work nearby and always mention who I am and who the flowers are for (usually an employee — for new hires, goodbyes, special occasions, etc) and I am usually waiting there in the shop while Yoko does the arrangement. Maybe that is the secret to a nice arrangement?
Anyway I know Yoko’s *can* provide lovely arrangements.
