Some decent wines, but way overpriced. The guy smelled like a chimney and knew nothing about the wines. I’ve gotten better wine service at Whole Foods. I just looked up the bottle I purchased for $ 49.99 and the vineyard sells it for $ 29.99. I should have left without buying something, but was on my way to a friend’s house and needed something decent.

A complete rip off. Don’t go there. The guy tried to charge me 2x what it costs anywhere else. I asked how much a bottle of Johnie Walker blue costs, the clerk said $ 200. Fine. Then when we rang up, he said $ 299. Wow. Terrible.

Went into the 3rd st store today. Selection, while not extremely broad, is generally high end wine. Prices– set for those that are clueless and have $$$ to burn. Not just high prices– absurdly high.

Hilariously overpriced, however they are next to a hotel, so I can’t really blame them. Regardless, any other liquor store in the area will be cheaper.

Let the staff know you live in the Financial District and«deals» can be made on multiple bottles. This location is a bit smaller than the sister location on 3rd but service is very personable and professional at both stores.

I like that they carry fine liquor and wine, though I’m not a fan of the prices. I just bought a $ 99 bottle of Rye that I was told(by the woman behind the counter) was no longer available anywhere, that the company was now out of business, and the Rye normally listed for $ 129. I then found out that the company is not out of business, and that a store a couple blocks away sells it for $ 65. Yes, Buyer Beware, and My Mistake, but I don’t appreciate being lied to. I don’t think I’ll be back.

Met Steven Tyler here. For reals. If you’d like a nice bottle of wine or liquor, or are in need of quality juice, this is a convenient upscale liquor store in the FiDi(adjacent to the Omni hotel on Sansome). The woman who is usually working is the nicest person and always remembers what I buy. They also have an insane selection of Ritter Sports at the counter to tempt you. There are seriously thirty flavors of those things. There is also a great floral shop behind this spot that has daily specials(like $ 1.00 lilies, or roses, etc.), but not sure of it’s name.

Zain’s is a pretty fantastic place. While pricy, their choice of stock is always great. And if you need a bit of help with finding or selecting something special they’re very nice and knowledgable, without the hovering or upsell. I love this place, it’s a classy route for bringing lovely treat to an event.

At first look the place looks really small(it is kinda small ;)). Although I am not a wine drinker, I had to pick up a bottle of wine for a dinner. I had no clue what I was picking up but the lady in the shop was super friendly and helped me pick up a wine. The surprising part, she suggested a bottle of wine that costed half the price of the one I originally picked but the best part, my friends loved the wine. So If I ever need to pick up a bottle of wine again, I am definitely considering a trip to Zain.

I can’t rag on the selection here, but I will say that I got some of the worst customer service here that I’ve experienced in a long time! I went in on Saturday evening with my boyfriend to pick up a few beverages. Keep in mind that we were STONESOBER, so not being annoying drunk people or anything like that. When I grabbed a single beer out of the refrigerator it caught on the one behind it and somehow tore through the can, so the beer started pouring out all over the cooler. My boyfriend grabbed the spilling can and turned it on its side right away so it would not make a mess. Then he carried it up to the counter and politely asked what the cashier would like him to do with the defective can. The checker proceeded to look at him like he was crazy and start yelling at him in front of a store full of people! Apparently the proper liquor store etiquette was to just leave it on the floor and let it spill. Riiight. He then grabbed the can from my boyfriend and stormed to the back of the store, all the while muttering and acting like we were trying to sabotage him or something. Needless to say we didn’t buy anything and got out of there as fast as we could. I’m really not sure why this guy got so mad when we were just trying to be helpful, but either way it was an embarrassing, weird experience and I can confidently say I will NEVER set foot in this place again.

Anyone who’s been to my apartment knows that I’m not even remotely domestic. I refer to the kitchen as ‘that room where the ice lives.’ And while my refrigerator boasts practically every condiment known to man, that’s about all it contains … with the exception of a virtual shitload of chilled champagne. What does this have to do with a FiDi liquor store, you ask? Plenty. As someone who feels that in a perfect world, having a little snort of the bubbly *should be* an everyday occurrence, I love that this awesome hooch purveyor not only offers exceptional wines and liqueurs, but keeps a stash of ice-cold splits handy — just in case you’re having«one of those days» at the office. Carbonation IS a cure-all, you know. I keep telling myself that, anyway.

This boutique wine and spirits shop is an absolute favorite of mine! The woman normally working is super friendly and helpful. Wine lovers will rejoice at the bountiful collection of fine wines, nicely laid out in finished wood racks at comfortable browsing level. Single malt scotch afficianados look no further — they boast a splended collection of familiar favorite as well as undiscovered gems. This small shop is extremely well laid out, with attention to detail and presentation. They’ve managed to stock quite a nice variety accross several price ranges. Whether you work in the financial district, or live nearby, you’ll fall in love with the genuine unassuming charm of this friendly neighborhood shop!

If you’re ever looking for that extra special(see also, extra expensive) bottle of champagne or something as straight forward as a single malt Scotch, you may want to check out Zain’s. It may be a bit cumbersome going through each of the shelves, but at least they’re open past 6p in the FiDi, which is practically unheard of. Oh, despite the address listed, it’s located next to the Mandarin Oriental. ANDIT’S OPENONSUNDAYS and Presidents Day!!! :-D
