Very greasy food, I ordered an el pastor buritto and just tasted oil, no other flavor, waste of money. I won’t be going back.

I’ve passed by this place FOREVER& have always wanted to try it. Well today it happened. Granted, I merely got a simple bean, cheese & egg burrito for breakfast, it’s early and not feeling too hungry, but it was good. Was surprised & impressed they were making fresh tortillas outside! Place is small, clean, menu looks good as far as fast food Mexican places go & they have an «A.» Alot of phone orders being called in while eating there — good sign! Looking foward to try more things, stay tuned for an update! ;0)

I’m probably biased — I grew up eating tacos at Chanos. My favorite eats are tacos al pastor, chile rellenos, the nachos supreme, and chile cheese dogs(I said I came here as a kid). Then I wash it all down with an Orange Bang. These are decent tacos at a great price!

Great Carne Asada! The papazote is a great deal, 2 big ass wet burritos for about 12 bucks. The cashier lady Jasmin was really nice, service is excellent. Will be coming back real soon!

I go here all the time, it’s within walking distance. This time, lady at the register, not the regular, over charged me for something. I called her out and she paid me the difference, saying that it was a price increase and didn’t change the sign. We’ll see, the next time I go. It was only a buck, but I fucking hate liars. If the price remains the same, I’ll be re-rating.

This is my first time here. I have been craving enchiladas for a while. I was in the area so I decided to stop by and see what they had. I have so say they are good.

Good food and service. Reasonable prices. Food is fresh, cheese, lettuce, carnitas, carne asada, tortillas, all fresh. Hard taco, enchilada, sope combo is my choice when I come here. They also have afterschool specials that are pretty cheap. Portions are good. One of the better mexican spots in the area.

I’ve driven by Chanos many times during my years living around the SGV, and I have finally chose to go in for a try, rather than always going to the other tacos places around my office. Chanos had probably been around for a long time because obviously people knows about it, and it was packed on a Saturday afternoon. This place can easily be missed as you drive on Las Tunas Street in San Gabriel. It is basically a very small building on the south side of the street. And chances is you’ll pass it. Anyhow the food is decent here. I ordered a breakfast burrito, carne asada soft tacos, al pastor soft tacos, and an order of taquitos to take out. The food probably took around twenty minutes since they were so busy. I really liked their soft tacos because they were very tasty and quite large. It costs a bit more than the other taco places(.50 cents), but it was delicious with a good flavor of marinated pork for the al pastor, along with tasty carne asada for other tacos. The best thing is they’re not stingy with the meat and their was also plenty of onions and cilantro stuffed in the tacos. Their taquitos comes in a pair per order which is standard for taco and burrito places. The taquiti was quite big too, fried with meat inside that comes with a guacamole dipping sauce. Decent, but I’ve tasted much tastier guac the will make this sauce silly. But it’s still good though. Now for my breakfast burrito… I was a bit disappointed. I order a the burrito specifically with chorizo egg, bacon, and potatoes. It was a good size burrito. Except it was bland… even after putting in the salsa. I barely tasted any chorizo and bacon. It was pretty much non-existent along with a few potato chunks. Again there wasn’t enough and all I tasted was the refried beans packed into the burrito. I’m not a huge fan of beans, but I’ll still eat it with the burrito. However, it seemed like I could have just ordered a bean burrito. Okay, enough negativity. The next time I come, will be for the tacos. They have a pretty good selection of food you could order. I thought I saw menudo on there which I love. They also have lunches you could order instead of a la carte. I liked the fact that the order taker/servers was really nice. The customers waiting and/or leaving were very polite too. Their was not really a line that can be formed because the place was so small. Nobody complained about who went first or whatever… which I really liked. Why can’t Asian be just as cordial? LOL. Anyhow, Chanos evens out to be average. I like their tacos and the convenience. I’ll be back soon.

I love that Chanos is on the way as I drive home from work. This place successfully fulfills my taco cravings. I’ve only been here a couple times, and since I don’t eat beef, I’ve only ordered their el pastor tacos. For $ 8, you can order a combination plate that comes with two soft tacos of your choice, beans, rice, simple side salad, and a handful of tortilla chips tossed in. Their red sauce has a nice kick to it as well. Typically, my go-to for tacos in this area would have to be the La Doña taco truck. However, Chanos is a decent alternative.

Taco Tuesday! I got asada, al pastor and Carnitas tacos, and taquitos. Still love the tacos, but the taquitos sucked big time! The shells were over fried and the beef was hella chewy. The guacamole dip didn’t help either. Do not recommend this. Wasted $ 4.00. The taquitos at Costco tastes better.

Stopped in for breakfast while my car was getting worked on down the street. I had the chorizo and egg burrito and coffee. The beans are what can make or break a place for me. The refried beans that were in my burrito were fantastic. I am guessing they are made on site and with lard(as they should be). The chorizo and eggs in the burrito had a great taste to them. I added the house red hot sauce to add a bit of spice. When in the area I would come here again.

This is a great little«hole-in-the-wall» Mexican joint, on the South East corner of E. Las Tunas Dr. & N. Willard Ave. Don’t come here expecting fine dining, as there is very limited seating inside. However, there is quite a bit of seating outside. The food here is decent, serving your typical, tacos, burritos and other Mexican goodies. I tend to always stick with the carne asada burrito. It’s a great size, and the best part of all, they give you a squeeze bottle full of their delicious salsa to go with your burrito! Usually places like this are very limited on how much salsa they give their customers. I don’t frequently go out of my way to visit Chanos, but when in the area, it makes for a great meal.

There’s a ton of Mexican joints that are starting to charge more and more for their food. Chano’s doesn’t. Their food is pretty awesome and very cheap. I love the Carne asada fries and pretty much all their burritos and have been a customer for years. Chili Cheese Fries($ 2.99) Nice to share with someone else, especially if you’re getting something else. What’s awesome about their CCF is that the chili is a little spicy, which is unheard of. Love it. Highly recommended. The parking spots are a little bit of a pain, but the food FORSURE makes it worth it.

Cheap Mexican food that doesn’t disappoint. Chicken tacos are made with decent meat and not«scraps» like some other cheap places tend to throw in. Breakfast nachos are also on point!

I ordered the LENGUA(beef tongue) burrito, and it was delicious! They prepare the beef tongue here very well, it was tender as hell and very flavorful and didnt have a weird taste like at other places. There’s a few tables inside with a street view, but they have an outside seating area with more seats. Will be coming back here to try other items since it’s authentic as it can get, you can compare this joint to an Alberto’s, but this place has it’s own flavor and just taste way better than thier completion.

This is our go-to place when we get hungry and don’t know what to get(additional perk: it’s part of THECITYMENU’s deal, 15% off! ), because it’s so close. My boy got the deep fried california burrito —- sorry, but this place got nothing on Luche Libre(pout pout). I got their tostada salad to go, and I really didn’t like it, but maybe it was because it was to go and the lettuce has wilted by then and tasted gross. We got orange bang(tasted watered down) and cherry coke, and the cherry coke was the best item in that entire meal. Second time we went, he got a chorizo burrito and I got a lengua burrito. My lengua burrito tasted kinda funny; like fishy or something, like it hasn’t been cleaned all too thoroughly. I think next time I’ll stick to tacos. Why 3 stars after two failed trips? I’m giving it hope! Because this place delivers! If they fail at tacos… then I’ll change my rating… lol

I used to come here all the time in middle school & high school … before I discovered there are better Mexican food places out there. But it’s convenient because there aren’t many mexican food places nearby. One thing I give them prop for was when I needed to bring a big tray of food to a potluck and I thought of Chanos nearby. I called then and asked if they could do a nachos party tray in 1 hr and they said ok! The cost was around $ 22 and they had my nachos ready within 1 hr of me calling. Thank you Chanos!
