The economy is so bad it affects restaurants like L to P to have to close their doors which is so wrong when you consider the Feds giving failed banks almost a trillion dollars, then closed them down after they lost all that. Lester made the best burgers in the area by far and the pics you see really did taste as good as they look. Sorry Lester, but if you start a new place or want to chat about food — drop me a line anytime. Good luck!

This was the best place to get a big ass, bomb ass burger in San Gabriel. Too bad it closed down. I will remember my first day here. It was one of those days where I was looking for something to eat for lunch and wandered my way into this place, the huge sky light coming in from the roof, the TV was on of them food channels, the wall was full of locals shot in B&W(probably friends of L to P), and I was looking at the menu. I was like ‘duh…um… whats good?“ Then I got the avocado burger and I ate it, it was great. End of Story I will miss you L to P, I will miss you.

Soooo can someone please tell us exactly when this place is opened??! I’ve stopped by here twice before 8pm and it was closed both times. Store hours FAIL. I think it may have closed down. **

Awesome little burger place that’s hidden behind the San Gabriel Mission. Fair price for the food(except for those jungle fries– that could be bigger as stated in another review). Portions are good. Taste is awesome! Blows all the other burgers in the area away(with the possible exception of the Kobe Bistro Burger. possible). I’ve tried the Garlic Burger, Mushroom burger, and the Avocado Bacon Cheeseburger. All are legit. Will try the others in the future. The guy who works there is kind of gangster. But he’s nice. He’s a nice gangster? :D

I came here for lunch today after reading the reviews on Unilocal, and thought I’d come here since it’s pretty close to my office. This little burger joint is located in the mission district of SGV. The interior is simple and clean. A large chalkboard with the menu, some pictures of the owners families and friends(I’m guessing), 5 small sets of tables, and a little cabinet in the corner containing various boardgames. They have quite a few burger choices on their menu, as well as some different types of fries. I saw that they also had some pastas and salads. I ordered the mushroom burger and a side of small garlic fries. mushroom burger($ 4.65?) — this place is VERY generous with the toppings, packed with lettuce, tomatoes, grilled onions, mushrooms, and cheese, with a perfectly grilled burger patty, I had a lot of trouble fitting the burger into my mouth, once I was able to figure out how to eat it though, I could feel my stomach smiling at me for ordering such a delicious burger, messy to eat, but well worth it, RECOMMENDEDFORSURE small garlic fries($ 2) — I was surprised at the amount of fries that came in a small order, it filled up more than half of my food basket, makes me wonder how big the medium order is, the fries were nice and thick, and crunchy on the outside, however, in my opinion it was kind of lacking in flavor, even with the little garlic bits added to the fries, it just didn’t really seem to mesh with the fries, it felt like I was eating bland fries with some pieces of garlic on it, MEH So the mushroom burger was just awesome, while the garlic fries definitely could have been better. If you want to get the fries in this place, I suggest you either just get the regular fries and then add some salt to it if need be, or try their other fry flavors. They have sweet potato fries, and«jungle fries» here also, maybe I’ll try those next time. But I wouldn’t really recommend the garlic fries. Nothing really special about it. The people at the restaurant were pretty nice and very attentive. Although it was only me and one other table there. And in the middle of my meal the other table left, so at the end it was just me. In the end though, I’d definitely come back some time for their burgers, and to try some of their other fries. It’ll be a while before a come back though, I felt my arteries clogging up after this meal. But I think it was worth it. =) my rating… 4.5

So, when i heard my long-time high school friend’s family opened up this place, i decided i had to give it a shot. This place is literally right across the street from the mission, so it’s not too hard to find. The prices are reasonable, the food is pretty good, and the service is quick and friendly. I spent about 6 bucks for a burger, fries, and a drink which isn’t bad compared to what else is around the area. There are some tv’s set up and a few tables and chairs to enjoy a wonderful meal there. Overall the quality and freshness is there, the prices are great, portions are big, and the service is great. So why not give this place a try, i did, and i did not regret it!

L 2 P is a tasty little gem hidden in the heart of mission district. As I pull up into a parking spot right in front of L2P, my mouth begins to salivate for the Lester’s magical meat. Every time i come to L2P, I can expect my taste buds thoroughly pleasured and my stomach and wallet to feel full. Lets start with my usual. I order the fire burger w/mushrooms with a side of jungle fries and a drink. I only have to relax in the chair for a few minutes before my order is up. Before I know it, Lester is sliding the basket of goodies in front of me. In the basket contains a perfectly grilled burger with all the extras and a side of unforgettable french fries that only the mad cook Lester himself could have created. As i reach down and grab the meat masterpiece, the burger drips beef juice and soaks the paper so that it is damp to the touch. The aroma of the spices the chef uses to bless my beef, tickles my nose and sends my taste buds into salivate mode. Now, I like spicy food and boy was this the burger to rule all the other«spicy burgers» out there. I dive into my chunk of cow and my eyes roll back. Everyone in the area that is a fan of burgers must try this place out. Skip in n out, Jim’s, or the Hat. L 2 P is where its at.

For an Asian ran and owned take on a small burger joint, this place couldn’t get any tastier. My wife and myself were hungry and wanted to try a new burger place around the area and ran across this one. At first I thought it was another Boba house and god do I hate boba houses. Anyways walked in and checked out there selection of a menu that they have. Their prices are extremely reasonable, there practically giving away large portions of food for free! I had the tri tip burger and my wife had the bacon bbq burger with an order of L to P fries for only 3 bucks! The food there was delicious and amazing, I didnt expect the tri tip burger to be so tasty and the fries to be made just perfect. Not over drenched in sauce and just a perfect amount of bacon and fries together. The owner Lester is an awesome guy and would recommend everyone to try this place out. It is an extremely great small burger joint if your around the area. They also have a dinner selection menu that I hope to try sometime soon. Other then that L to P has my vote for best burger stop around Mission Drive. Pros: inexpensive awesome portions great owner everything is made fresh cons: secluded from the outside world a bit! everyone has to know this place!

just went there today, surprisingly… really good. got the jungle fries, and chicken burger. chicken burger, other then the lettuce being chunked up on one side of the burger was decent, the jungle fries on the other hand??? my god, amazing. if you’re a fan of random ass fries smashed with a buncha stuff, well there you go, order the jungle fries. its like a mixture of «animal style» and«jims burgers» very good, definitely plan on going back. although they could make the jungle fries a bit larger ;D

Went with the family to give L to P a try. It’s been open only for 3 or 4 months. It’s in the heart of the Mission District and advertises gourmet burgers, which is what we were craving. The burgers are thick, juicy and very flavorful. The burgers were cooked to the right tenderness and were really hitting the spot. Unfortunately, the first thing that hits you walking into the restaurant is the astringent smell. The place needs to feel cozy, but the patio furniture is uncomfortable. Wish this place luck, cuz the Mission District needs new life.

Had a burger with fries. It was a good size with a delicious special sauce on it. Very good prices. Small family run restaurant with very friendly staff. Will return again.

I’ve eaten here a few times and i believe it keeps getting better and better. Every time i come to grab a bite to eat, there’s always something new to choose from. I dont remember everything i’ve had there but if you just ask the chef what he recommends or if you tell him what you’re craving, he’ll definitely make something to your likings. If you’re ever in the area for a quiet fast sit-down burger joint, STOPBY! You wont be disappointedddd

My friend recommended me to this place telling me this burger joint is the best in the area. I was doubtful because there’s so many great burger spots in San Gabriel, but I was happily proven wrong when i made my first visit. I got the garlic burger because I wanted to try something different and I was definitely glad with my choice. I topped off the burger with some garlic fries and my friends didn’t really agree with my breath, but the taste was totally worth it. I’m definitely coming back.

Been meaning to try this place out for a bit. It is around the corner from my house and I am always wanting to try out new places close to home. After looking at the pics here, I just had to try it. So today was the day. Went over by the mission, grabbed a parking spot and walked in. The place is small but tidy. The menu is on a chalkboard on the wall but I would grab a to-go menu as it provides a bit more info on each item. The menu is pretty simple. ¼ burgers made from beef, pork, chicken or salmon in one section. Salads that range from a side salad to a salmon salad and BBQ trip-tip salad. Sides are fries done different ways which include regular fries, sweet potato fries, garlic fries, L to P fries(cheese, bacon and ranch topped) and jungle fries(bacon, cheese, jalapenos and house sauce). I opted for the sweet potato fries and the BBQ Chicken Salad. After a couple of minutes my order was ready. I drove home and dug in. The salad was amazing. Good portion of chicken, a lot of corn, carrots, onions, lettuce… everything tasted so fresh. The chicken was well grilled and super tasty. The homemade BBQ dressing was really good. Apparently they make all their dressings in house and the quality shows. The Sweet potato fries were a bit soggy but had a great taste to them. I would definitely come back to eat here. I am looking forward to trying out the Chicken Burger next. If you are around the San Gabriel Mission area and in the need for a bite, this place is worth checking out. Good grub at a good price.

I drove by this LITTLETINYPLACE thousands of time but never knew what it was. Until one day there was a banner outside explaining the place«gourmet burgers and salads.» So i decided to give it a try, atmosphere was very calming [: greeted by nice people. There was so many burgers i wanted to try but i can only choose one. I debated for a while between a chicken burger, fire burger, avocado bacon cheeseburger or a mushroom. I finally decided on the mushroom burger combo, which i did not regret. It was so good. Juicy and well-cooked as how i ask. their house sauce they put in the burger was light and was not too heavy of a sauce that overpower the burger. i loved the fries it was fresh and crispy, the owner told me they freshly cut all their fries. maybe that why it was super good. The second time i came they got a tv installed which i thought was nice eating and watching tv what a good combination [X i did not take to long to order this time because i said i would try their bbq tri tip salad the next time i came. I got the salad and FELL in LOVE with it!!! the best bbq tri tip i have ever try! SO I HIGHLYRECOMMEND this. you dont like salad ?! you should try their bbq tri tip and you will LOVESALADS. [:

I finally stopped by this place after driving by it everyday. There is parking in the front but something was going on at the mission and there was no parking. I found parking at city hall but I wasn’t sure if i was able to park there or not. When I walked up to the place I saw a sign that said they have parking in the rear. I ordered the Garlic Burger with Garlic Fries and a House Salad. The Garlic Burger was tasty. It definitely had garlic in it. They have a house sauce that they use also for there burger. The garlic fries are decent. I think the ones at the Dodger games are much better. They need to cook there fries just a little longer because the garlic oil makes the fries to soggy. I ordered the house salad because I wasn’t sure if it was enough food to share with the bf. The salad was really fresh and I loved the ranch dressing. I’m really picky about my ranch dressing and this place defiantly has a good ranch dressing. I would recommend this place if you don’t want a quick lunch or dinner.

As soon as I walked into this restaurant, I felt a feeling of homeliness. Though it is not the biggest, the quality of the food makes up for it. The atmosphere provides a sense of comfort and belonging as you enjoy their delicious burgers. The burgers are what they are known for but their fries are just as great. They have a wide array of different tastes but all of them are good. I particularly enjoyed the sweet potato fries because they are simple yet delicious. I will definitely come to this place again

This is the perfect place for a quick but quality lunch. The service is quick so I was able to enjoy a good meal and go about the rest of my day. I’ve been to a handful of burger joints but this one ranks as one of my favorites. Very chill environment. I definitely recommend any of the wide variety of fries, especially the sweet potato fries. I was a little inconvenienced by the fact that they don’t accept credit cards but the food more than makes up for it. I’ll be coming back to eat very soon.

I am not from San Gabriel, but when i passed by one day i decided to stop by this burger joint. Now, usually I’m not a huge fan of burger joints, but i decided to try something new. When I walked in here, i definitely changed my mindset because this place was far from the typical rundown restaurants, was very clean, and made customers feel right at home. The waitresses were also really friendly and their attitudes definitely made the environment a desirable place to chill at. This place ranks among one of the only burger joints that i actually like eating at, if i ever run through San Gabriel, i plan to come here and grab their burgers.
