In post partum room with the help of Dora it was easy for me too feel better !
But down at the deli every room I was worried down at the delivery room because I thought I was going to get Anna as a nurse like I have before. I really don’t like complaining but how she works is very sloppy, she left a mess in the sink and she spilled my drink from the table. She said she was going to call someone to clean it up but she never did and I didn’t like how she would step over the spilled drink like if she never dropped it. Although Thanks for the help here in the hospital

The reason that I give 1 stars because the one of the security guard was so rude. I want the management team to see what kind of people they hired. 6÷10÷2016 3:30Am, Emergency lobby. I heard from other staff that the security guard name should be Chris. I politely asked him open the door for me & said thank you after. He give me a look & no response at all. That’s fine. Then I went to restroom few mins later & came back ask him again. He YELL & BLAME me that inside has restroom. How do I know? This is your ONLY job duty & you don’t want to do it. Then go home! We all doing customer services in different sector area. You have to understand you will not get your paycheck if no one needs you there.
PS: Nurses, Doctors, other security guards, Everyone are nice expect him the guy name Chris, «working» at emergency lobby around 3:30Am.

My 2 kids both born here. We had really great experience. Specially a nurse named TINA. Very experienced & friendly.

This was a few months back, this review is a bit overdue, but finally i was able to get some free time to create a Unilocal account a do a review on behalf of all pregnant women (like my wife), for all incoming or potential incoming patients, please read my review. I am trying to let everyone be aware of what is going on.
As I read a lot of the reviews on Unilocal,Paul G, the SGVMC staff only seems to be replying to random selected reviews with the same exact message. If they staffed cared more then they would be taking the time out to write each and every single review.
I came here with my wife because she was delivering a baby, and it turn out to be the worst hospital ever. The securities were unprofessional, seem to be fooling around with each other. I see them taking their phone out, eating snacks at the front desk, and kicking back charging their phone on the visitor checking computers. They don’t even seem to be checking IDs, just letting visitors sign in and leave. Such a unprofessional hospital. The nurses seem to be okay during our time stay, but if the nurses are the only people that were treating us nicely during the whole stay, how bad does that look.
Then there is also the administrator who are rude to us too, when we simply wanted to ask questions in accommodating our needs. And there seem to be a lack of a translator as well, because when my mother in law came to visit us at the hospital, she only spoke Chinese, and the staff didn’t speak Chinese and they treated her as if they were looking down at her for the fact that she didn’t speak English. They were impatient and seemed irritated. You are working in the wrong field if you can accommodate anyone. They need more individuals/​staff that can speak one of the most spoken language in this city, mandarin. We are in San Gabriel Valley, heck the name of your hospital is San Gabriel Valley Medical Center, I am pretty sure you guys get countless patients who’s demographics are of Asian. That’s definitely a area you need to modify in.
The only time I had a decent time there at the hospital was during the orientation tour for one of the nights. There was three sets of good occurrence, 1) there was actually an volunteer there that assisted us, took us to the boardroom, which was really confusing to find, thankfully she offered to take us. And best of all, later when my mother in law came to join us, the same volunteer was able to speak mandarin to her, and politely take her to the boardroom, and assist us. She told me she was going into the field of nursing, and I truly wish there were more staff like that volunteer, who carried a great customer service, smile, and acted accordingly. The only one who isn’t on the phone at the front desk, and was facing forward welcoming all the visitors.
2)Furthermore also the tour guide was amazing, she was able to assist us and make this hospital sound super welcoming, there was cake, and even taking us to the 5^th floor for those who want to go. staff like her was the reason my wife wanted to give birth at this hospital in the first place when we were hospital scouting.
3)Love the cafeteria! the ladies at the cafeteria is super nice, and welcoming, but still not really a part of the hospital, the food section shouldn’t be the only nice section of staff in the hospital either.
Too bad the gift shop closed down! It would’ve been such a good addition to the hospital as well, but now they have a café.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the hospital, the atmosphere, but its just when there are unprofessional staffs like that, and rude individuals, it makes the whole visitation just bad.
And Paul G, please do not comment on this unless you truly want to talk to us. I have seen enough of your general comment to everyone else i dont need to see it again.
SGVMC, you guys have a long way to go before becoming the best customer service provided hospital. Please take that banner down, because as I have read, I am not the only one complaining about the service there.

My baby was born in this hospital, All the nurse here are very professional and nice, highly recommend !!!

My 82 year old mom went with vomit and excruciating lower back pain, they run many test and said all is negative, after 2 days they sent her home. Very incompetent doctors! Where did they get their licenses? The staff was great, friendly and prompt, but the reason for the visit was not resolved! And Medicare will have to pay for this inefficiency! Outrageous!

Been here before and know again to deliver my 3^rd baby and is one of the Best Hospital the nurses are very nice and help full I’m very thankful especially with Mary RN and Dora CN great person to ask questions they are there to help and there 100% helpful, thank you for all the help you gave me and understanding you guys are the Best!

I was admitted here at San Gabriel Valley Hospital for back surgery. I should have listened to my gut. I read a few bad comments on the Internet. During the admittion with the nurse she said I was on too many medications for her to write down, she said it wasn’t important. The surgeon lead me to believe he was going manage my pain, but upon discharge he said he was NOT going to send me home any scripts. As it was, they weren’t even able to manage my pain during my four day stay. Why should I have expected them to do it after my discharge. If my pain was that bad even medication what would it be like without any till I was able to get an appointment from my primary. OT came to my room but since the brace hadn’t been delivered they left, and never returned for the rest of my stay. I only received PT once. So with out PT and OT I didn’t feel comfortable enough to be safe at home. The doctor only spoke to me once on my second day, so for him to discharge me without follow up instructions and site unseen in my opinion is very un professional. You kinda expect hospital food to be bad, but for them to keep giving me food I was allergic to. I wonder if I could sue them. Especially for all my emotional distress. I just might need have to increase my medication for anxiety. Hopefully this post can save someone else from this kind of strees or worse. I am only selecting one because the makes you, its to bad you cant do negative stars.

All I can say is WORST PLACE EVER if you want bad patient care, pain and to be kicked out, this is the place to go.

Dora Cruz is the best! And Lydia also is the best, she got recall from sleeping for my new baby girl and took care of my wife very well and thanks all helps from all nurses

Thank you so much for all the nurses that took care of my husband. The ER nurses were so extremely helpful and inserted 2 IVs for iv fluids right away. I’m grateful for the ambulance. for taking him here for immediate care. My husband and I would would like to thank a few nurses who took their time out to come every hour to look after him and ask how he is doing. The nurses are on 3^rd floor.; Sara (night shift) and Cynthia (day night). They not only do their work but went out of their way to help my husband through the stay here.

Dora was our nurse after the birth of our son along with Joyce and Mary. They were all wonderful and made sure our postpartum stay was perfect. They taught us a lot about our brand new baby and helped us with any questions we had as first time parents. This is a great place to have your baby and they make sure you’re taken care of :)

Dora was my nurse who took care of me this time and last year when i was here she make sure whatever i need is taken care of and checks on me frequently. …the does have caring nurses and my dr is the best, wish i had a private room though.

Came here for my labor and delivery great and very friendly staff and nurses especially one nurse Dora Cruz was the most comforting and friendliest nurse which I can also say that about all the nurses here were all friendly made us feel comforting and helped us with our new baby thank you to all the nurses there!

Thank you to all the nurses who helped me deliver my first baby specially Haley who works nights. Super kind and a great person to ask questions. If I get pregnant again I will be requesting her no doubt !
Being pregnant for the first time this hospital made me feel safe. I had no clue on how my delivery was going to happen due to the fact that I had to get induced at 40 weeks and 4 days … each nurse was very helpful explaining me on what to expect and so on.
Dr.Pan gave me my epidural. He was so knowledgeable and very professional. My nurse recommend me getting my epidural with him because he is one of the best in performing this procedure.

Once I got to the 5^th floor to recover with my baby, Crystal helped me so much on how to feed my baby and care for her. On my last day at the hospital I had the chance to meet Dora Cruz a awesome nurse who was very helpful ! Gave me so much great advice. Helped me relax my baby since she was being fussy for a while once Dora held her and gave her some formula my baby stopped crying with her.
Definitely recommend this hospital. Very clean and very helpful people working here !

Dora in OB/​Post Partum was extremely helpful and wonderful the whole stay at the hospital with my daughter. We appreciate all her dedication and hard work. Was here for for my wife’s delivery. Hospital is very clean and organized. The nurses are very professional.
Most notable are dora, joyce, lily, ivy, and tszuman.
Very knowledgeable and caring.

I got drop off and went straight into the emergency room as suggested by another Doctor to get my head check, from having a three days continuous tension headaches after the truck T-​bone turn on me.
I like the security guy that was on the watch who was also taking your info down for the walk-​in appointments. He was really welcoming from the beginning to the end, he gave you that good vibe when he makes eye contact with you and give you that friendly smile. Hopefully they are like that everyday, and that I didn’t just happen to be here for my first time at the right timing, lol.
The first nurse that interview me (she said it will be like a interview because she will be asking me the questions she needed to know before I see a Doc, I thought it was funny and good way of teasing it) was nice and welcoming. The Doc saw me in a few minutes afterwards, went smooth and quick as I hope, since my head was giving me so much trouble and didn’t feel like doing much work. Then another nurse came in to give me the shot and gave me some time to make sure my head pain is gone, which surprisingly to me that it flew right off the edge in about five-​ten minutes.
After that, they let me go after the Doc wrote me a good prescription of Tylenol #3, since normal Tylenol was not enduring the pain long enough, and hard to not to overdose. So looking forward to take that when in pain, since I was told this strong Tylenol #3 will make me fall asleep through the pain.

I registered here for Labor and Delivery back in November after hearing bad things about both the delivery and postpartum staff from women who had delivered here.
I did not like this hospital’s registration process. First, I tried mailing in the form, which asks for you SS information. After a couple weeks, I called them to double check, and they said they had no record of receiving it. I then tried registering online. At the end of registering online, they emailed me a confirmation number and then advised I would need to go into the hospital to finish registering by providing a copy of my insurance card. I went into the hospital a few days later around 6:30am and there was only one person working at the registration counter. The lady there said she was working on something else at the moment so I would have to wait. I waited for 30 minutes until she was able to help me. She then told me she couldn’t find me in the system and the email confirmation number I received doesn’t mean anything so we had to complete the entire form through her… for the THIRD time. This registration process was most aggravating.
Luckily, the childbirth classes taught by Kathleen and my labor/​postpartum experience was much better. Kathleen and the substitute teacher Mary were wonderful teachers who really cared about making sure they told us as much information they knew about childbirth, breastfeeding, and childcare. It was nice that the hospital provided cookies and refreshments during the classes since the classes were on Mondays at 7pm. The classes usually ran past 9:30pm but that’s because there was a lot to cover each class.
During labor, I was very fortunate to have Elisa as my delivery nurse. My doctor had scared me and said that my baby was making my liver build up too much toxic enzymes in my bloodstream so he would have to have do a C section. Elisa thought our doctor was pulling the trigger too fast to do a C section and had much faith that I would be able to do deliver vaginally still but suggested that I get an epidural to ease my pain and tension. I end up delivering vaginally and without the doctors help! Elisa made me feel as comfortable as possible and she really cared about me. My husband and I couldn’t thank her enough.
After delivery, I was moved to the 3^rd floor for Postpartum care. All the nurses were very helpful and sweet. The food was good, especially the Celebration dinner!
I would still come back to this hospital to deliver my next child. Hopefully I get Elisa again to deliver my next baby!

Mis hijos han nacido en este hospital y los tratos han sido variable. esta vez estuve 3 dias y conoci personas muy capacitadas pero nada como haber conocido a Dora una persona muy atenta que me atendio de lo mas excelente su personalidad te hace sentir k estas en familia y protegida. No solo experimente bonitos momentos sino tambien gane una gran amiga que con su compania y agradable sentido de humor hacian mis dias mas cortos. Personales tan humanos como ella son las que se necesitan para un momento tan delicado por el que pasamos las mujeres y por el cual necesitamos sentirnos acompanadas y seguras y eso lo senti con ella. Gracias por ser como eres Dora. Dios te bendiga por siempre. Sigue siendo tan humana y profesional en lo que mejor te ha caracterizado ser una belleza de enfermera… mi familia y yo te agradeceremos por siempre.

Gave birth to all 3 of my sons here. Obviously my very first experience is the reason why I had my other 2 boys here & SGVMC did not fail me. All the nurses were genuinely nice and took care of me from labor & delivery all the way to the nurses in post partum. One nurse in particular I bonded with, her name is Nurse Dora. I had her all 3 births while being in post partum! She is truly there to make you happy, feel comfortable, she is honest, & funny! Amazing I tell you. My first son was born 2011, 2^nd son 2013, and lastly my 3^rd son in 2015. I know I am late on reviewing but let me tell you why I am starting this today.
My sister just had her baby last night. Beautiful baby btw. So I visit her today afternoon at post partum, while getting coffee I turn around & behind me is Dora! She recognized me right away and man was I happy to see her. She asked me who am I Here to visit and which room and I let her know which room and she came by to say hi and was cracking jokes. Truly brightened up our day there lol because she is totally funny, it really helps you forget about the pain you are in lol. Anyways, After today I knew I had to give credit knowing where credit needs to be due! This is my first ever review on Unilocal actually lol. So If ever you are in post partum at SGVMC please say hello to Miss Dora :)

We love San Gabriel Hospital ! Husband came in with a emergency and was seen asap. The patient care and staff are superb. Dr Levin always very companionate and explains his recommendations throughly. This is the 3^rd time we have been seen here and are always very appreciative to have a great Hospital close to home. THANK YOU

We spent our time in the same day surgery section., under the care of LVN George. First of all, George is awesome. From the second we walked in, my brother in law was his priority. He was very friendly and efficient, making sure he included the family, when giving instructions and information.
His surgery went better than expected, and since same day surgery was closed when he was out of recovery, we were sent to the wonderful caring staff on the fourth floor.
Everyone that came into contact with our family was great. They made sure that he had everything, including sending an extra blanket when we left because it was cold.
This hospital has an excellent staff. The entire time we were there, they made sure we knew my brother in law was their priority. What else could you want from your medical facilities?
