101 Auto Body And Paint

Let me start this review by making one statement.
I HATE body shops. I do not trust them, and I have had consistent bad experiences with them.
My last experience with an auto body shop was about two years ago with Matos Auto Body (King Road, San Jose). Now every time I walk out and look at my car it is a reminder of the horrible work that they do. The paint is not even close to matching, and obviously the guys there do not know what it means to «blend in». It is black versus grey.
Given this last experience, I had an instant headache when some spineless chicken pulled a hit and run on my wife’s car while it was parked at home.
One of my employees had recently had body work done at 101 Auto Body, and suggested that I give them a try. 101 Auto Body is not a «preferred shop» of my insurance, but given the track record of the «preferred shops» I was open to a change.
My experience with 101 Auto Body was the exact opposite of every Auto Body experience I have had up until this point. When Mr Singh puts on his Unilocal page that «Customer Service is our key objective», he means it and lives by those words. His work is top-​notch. The paint is blended perfectly. He does not stop at a line like most auto-​body shops do (ie between quarter panel and door), he blends in to the undamaged panel to ensure an exact match. Mr Singh’s employees could take the easy way out like most shops and just do the exact panel where damage occurred, but he does not. He puts in the extra time and effort to make sure the customer will be completely satisfied.
As far as working with insurance, not going to a «preferred shop» does not make anything any more difficult if you have a good quality insurance company (I have State Farm). I had my check for the non-​deductable portion in plenty of time to pick up my vehicle.
Mr Singh’s quest for ultimate customer service does not stop with the repair to the damaged area. When I picked up my car, it was cleaned inside and out. I do not think my wife’s car has been this clean since we bought it. It is amazing to see someone take pride in their workmanship and their customer the way Mr Singh does.
