Amy’s Nail Spa

Tried this place again, nothing has changed, NO ventilation, when I suggested to the manicurist to open the door she replied «it is too cold». Once again the smell made me sick to my stomach

I decided to try Amys due to my usual Nail Salon being all the way across San Jose. The first time I went the girl did a decent job on my acrylic fill, they were a bit on the thinner side and one nail was not filed evenly but I figured I would give Amy’s another shot, they are always packed which led me to believe they must do a good job! The second time I went for a fill Tina did my nails, she did a great job but charged me $ 45 for a fill, normally I would say something but I was caught off guard and felt awkward to say anything right there. I hesitated to go back but I figured I would just get my acrylic nails taken off and get a manicure. Kim helped me and encouraged me to get a fill, I asked how much before sitting down and she said $ 30 so I pointed to their sign that says $ 20 to which she replied, with gel polish $ 30. Ok makes more sense but then she should have said $ 20 to begin with. Kim did a pretty careless job and my nails are not smooth they’re lumpy, sharp at the tips (square tip). She did however only charge me $ 30 which upsets me even more with Tina charging me $ 45 and my $ 5 dollar tip! EVERY person that pays with a card and adds the tip to the card gets attitude for the girls who work there. You will hear,“You don’t have cash?!” Maybe they don’t claim their tips so they don’t have to pay taxes on them? I don’t know but they are very rude and embarrassing about tipping on your card. The girls do not talk to you and try to get to know you, i guess they have enough business? Also if you are used to your manicurist massaging your hands or even arms, they do not do anything extra! Their nail files are all used, I am not sure if that is common but my old salon used to open a new little pack of tools each time. I wont be going back, I wish I had talked to friend’s before going in here as they too had similar experiences.

I have been a patron for the last year & have had nothing but great experiences with all the ladies! They are extremely pleasant, take huge pride in their hygiene of the shop (THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR), and extremely accommodating! The prices are comparable to many other shops, but all the above has made a loyal customer!

I’ve NEVER had a bad experience here. Everyone is so friendly and do such a great job. Ask for Mai (pronounced MY) she’s the best! Always does a fantastic job on my nails.

Came in for a regular french tip and they charged me 45 dollars, the lady even cut me and they didnt even let me use the offer they had on their Unilocal.Going else where next time. Horrible job.

This is the best place in town to get my mani & pedi. Ask for Amy for pink & white French and Diane for pedi… they’re the best!

I hate it when I go to get my nails done and just want to relax but all the workers do is talk in vietnamese across the whole salon the whole freakin time! Ugh! But I swear it happens almost in every nail salon I been to.
I got pedicure ($ 20), full set ($ 20) and eyebrows wax ($ 6). Overall I liked my nails, not so much on the eyebrows tho… but just wished they would keep it more professional not have their loud conversation while literally doing my nails in front of me.

Just amazing work! Yet another masterpiece! These talented ladies take great care and are true artists. This is more than just a pedicure parlor. It is a place to be pampered and have my poor sore feet rejuvenated. Diana’s gorgeous toe designs make up for my ugly feet! Prices are comparable to anywhere, but the artistry is unique.

Sindy & Diane are doing my nails for over 10 years now. Needless to say, I will go to this place to the rest of my life :)

EXCELLENT results. I’ve had my nails done at many places and no place like this one. I’ll forever following these ladies. There’s about 8 professional manicurist at this salon and I’ve had almost all of them work on me and not one has disappoint me. I always walked away satisfy! All I do is here is get my med-​pedi clean and painted shellac. I love the way they file my nails with minimal usage of the buffer which usually creates thinner nails – I do not like. I’m addicted to the way they cut and clean my cuticles – no hang nails or loose skin, after. Overall, always an excellent experience!
Keep in mind, these ladies do chit chat a-​lot but it doesn’t mean they’re talking negative behind your back or purposely trying to be rude! They talk, tell stories, and laugh among each other so the day can go by faster – no pun intended. After all, it is messed up finger nails and stinky feet these ladies work on all day – allow them story telling to laugh about…

Great experience everytime! Reasonable prices and friendly staff… the only thing was one time my fiancé needed his manicure done after his pedicure but they weren’t able to accomodate because they were busy. Overall, this is one of our favorite spots!

I was really excited to go to this nail salon after reading the reviews and looking at the pictures. I made a reservation and was pleasantly surprised when I went in and was seated right away. The woman doing my nails, who I won’t name, didn’t seem very friendly. I showed her a picture of another set she had done and asked her to do mine the same shape and length. Neither request was fulfilled. Plus there’s a gap between the acrylic and my cuticle. Some of the nails are more flat, some more round, and some more pointy. 3 of my cuticles were red and stinging when I left. I wish I had gone to my usual nail place.

Seated right away upon arrival. I was happy with the pedicure but since it took so long I had to leave. I wanted to also get a manicure.
Good end result but it took a long time.

Was willing to drive to Mountain View as I thought there were no good places in SJ and just my luck I came across this place couple months back and have only come here. Whether I set an appointment or do a walk in, the staff is friendly, courteous and quick. Tao always is the best on my routine work. :)

it’s said get set $ 25 but when I got my acrylic get set she charged me $ 35. I tried asking her but the nail tech was not hanging it. my nails looked decent but was taken advantage of & had to pay more

Might have found my new favorite place to get pedicures! I don’t think I’ll go anywhere else now! I have never had someone take care of my feet so well. They really make sure your feet are nice and smooth. Even to the color they make sure it’s perfect! This just made my day coming here! Leaving her a happy gal!

This was my first time here. I have a nail place that I go to regularly, But I work nearby and wasn’t going to be able to go to my regular spot so I took a shot in the dark and gave this place a try. I came to get an acrylic refill and a pedicure. They did my pedicure and Refill at the same time at the pedicure chair which I thought was a little bit sketchy, so right off the bat I was worried, but the nail technician was super patient and really took her time doing my acrylics (almond shape). By the time she was done the shape was just as perfect as the place I normally go to, I was very pleased! 4 stars only because the pedicure could’ve been better (skimped on the massage and nail polish was kinda chunky). Overall I would definitely come back!

This is my go to nail shop. They are always friendly and do a great job. They keep the shop clean.
What more could a girl ask for?

My bff and I were looking for mani & pedi on thanksgiving day and we find Amy’s Nail Salon. Amy and her coworker done our mani and peni with hand massage! The salon is new and clean. I really recommend this place :)

I’m not the type to get my nails done very often, but I thought I’d try this place out. It wasn’t the worst experience by any means — the staff was all very polite and welcoming, and the lady who did my gel manicure (I never actually got her name…) was very sweet — but I wasn’t very happy with the end product.
The shape of my nails was what I’d wanted, but the edges were left kind of jagged; some because the edge was stuck to the skin on my finger tip. Also, two of my nails ended up with bubbles. After I pointed one of them out, she tried to fix it for me and wasn’t rude at all about it, but it’s still a little uneven.
One thing I noticed was that there were a lot of regulars, and the staff knew many of the customers by name, which is indicative of great service, so maybe the gel manicure just isn’t their specialty…
Overall, not sure that I’d elect to go here again, especially not for a $ 30 gel manicure, but I wouldn’t boycott it or anything.
