This flea market is such a hidden gem. From the absence of reviews on the web I was not expecting much but it was a huge surprise when I got there at 8am yesterday(3rd Sat of each month). Had never been there until yesterday, I was looking for a new place to enjoy my morning cup of tea and do a bit of walking. Parking was not too difficult(go early) and free and no fee to enter the flea market. There were at least 40 – 50 vendors if not more, selling flea markets items, antiques, books, dvds, knick-knacks, most at reasonable prices. I think I only saw two vendors selling new items. I counted one jewelry seller, 2 food trucks :) No produce, I was not expecting one. either, I can get those at a farmers market or Trader Joes. I am a book lover and picked up a few great reads for $ 1 each. Negotiated price for an unused still in the box Fuji N690 medium format photo enlarger complete with all the necessary accessories for $ 15, a huge plastic flexible laundry basket that normally sells for 12 for $ 1. DVDs were selling for $ 2($ 1 would have been nice). It is not a big flea market but I spent almost 2 hrs there checking out some of the stalls twice. Until now Palo Alto Booster Club Flea market was my favorite but it has now been dethroned. This flea market is far better than the PA one, more vendors, better quality used items, a little bit of everything, oh and a young lady who is a budding photographer selling her prints, overall good sellers. Should have taken some pictures with my cell phone so I can post them here but perhaps someone else will next time they go. You must visit if you are in San Jose on a 3rd Sat and support them. I know flea market can be a hit or miss but I think you will enjoy your visit.

Branham flea is a good flea for both seller and buyer. 15.00 for a spot easy in and out. True flea sellers clean.

Branham High School has had a flea market for many years, and the experience has definitely improved since they got the large solar panels in the parking lot. There is lots of shade now, making for more comfortable strolling, and they even offer some protection from light rain. Usually held on the third Saturday every month, and there are a lot more sellers than they used to have, and a larger proportion of garage sale and vintage stuff as opposed to cheap knock-off stuff sold more more than it’s worth. There was one lady who was selling fake Downey and Bourke purses for $ 20.00 and up – not sure if she still comes here, but since you can find real ones at the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop for less, why even bother with fake ones? There is good stuff to be had, like vintage jewelry, plants, kids books, bikes, and much more. I think since they discontinued the antique market on Meridian some of the sellers there started coming here. The school kids sell snacks — ASK which ones are homemade as opposed to bought from Costco or Safeway — homemade ones are fresher and taste better. Coffee, too.
