This is my favorite breakfast burrito spot! I drive all the way from sssj to get them. Call ahead to avoid the line because the do get busy, but well worth the wait, keep it up!

Yummy! Our favorite Breakfast Burritos in San Jose! We have been going here for years and walking distance from home. We have some picky eaters in my family and they always accommodate our needs. On Sundays it typically gets pretty crowded so we call in our orders and they are ready in 20 mins. The service is always with a smile too. :)

I love the breakfast burritos here. I love the Veggie and it literally keeps me full all day. The service is great and quick. All of the girls that work there are nice. My only complaint is that they’re not on Door Dash yet. Café Rosalena would make so many customers happy if they were able to Door Dash. Most of the times when I’m craving a bomb breakfast burrito is when I am in bed, possibly hungover, and the last thing I want to do is drive 40 minutes round trip for a breakfast burrito. Please partner with Door Dash asap! You would sell so many more breakfast burritos!

I’ve been here 3 times now, and they are consistently good. I’ve had the breakfast burritos each time. Twice the chorizo, once the sausage. Excellent! Their coffee is ok too, but if they had the Torani syrups it would be even better!

Rosalenas is well known for their breakfast burritos, and their ORANGESAUCE!!! I do have to admit that their orange sauce itself over shadows their burritos.(In this case the burrito I ordered.) Since I got their a little before 7:30AM, I was able to walk right up and order. I decided to go with the sausage burrito. The gal behind the counter was super friendly. My burrito was ready in about 5 minutes! For $ 6, you get a pretty healthy sized burrito!!! It is packed with eggs, cheese, potatoes, and whatever meat you choose(bacon, ham, sausage, or chorizo). After a couple of bites, it felt like I was eating eggs with a side of potatoes. I guess they weren’t too generous with the cheese and sausage. I still managed to enjoy it, but ultimately I felt cheated. If I wanted an omelette filled with potatoes, that’s what I would have ordered. Overall it is a clean café, with friendly staff, and a pretty solid breakfast menu! If they could even out the ingredients a bit, I’d definitely say it is a great burrito. Until then, you can take advantage of that special sauce, douse whatever it is you are eating, and call it DAY!!! * I’ll be back again to try other things, and I will make sure I update this review accordingly. *

I was here over the weekend to get a bacon breakfast burrito. Burrito itself I would give a 3. Nothing too special, there’s potatoes, eggs, cheese and bacon. Still hard for me to rate burritos in the bay area since I am from socal and its just not the same game. Seems like the sauce is what people come here for. Really long wait the time I went. Ordering was a breeze but had to wait probably 15 – 20 minutes to actually get my burrito. There are a few tables to eat there but fewer bottles of sauce. So while everyone is eating their burrito you have to scavenge for a bottle of sauce that’s available. The ladies there seem really nice though so you can ask them for sauce but just didn’t make sense logistically. Overall if the wait times were not that long I would probably come here more often for a quick breakfast. Still a solid spot for bite if I am in the Alameda area.

The burritos here are no joke! Definitely worth coming here! I have lived down the street from Café Rosalena for about a year and hadn’t heard of it until I did a Unilocal search for breakfast burritos. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and an iced tea. The iced tea is surprisingly really good and served in a cup with an orange slice which is a nice touch. When the breakfast burrito came out, I couldn’t believe how big it was. Like the size of a Chipotle Burrito but way more filling, loaded with potatoes, cheese, egg, and bacon crumbles. It was delicious with the red salsa.(I did try the famous orange sauce, but was unimpressed. It’s a bit heavy for a breakfast condiment and reminds me of spicy mayo that would go on sushi.) I could only eat half of my burrito, and I’m not sure how the other half will fare as leftovers, but hands down, Café Rosalena is an incredible breakfast spot. Great food, the café is clean, and the staff is very friendly. I would definitely come back!

This place lost its ‘title’ as having the best burrito in town. I went today for a breakfast burrito and couldn’t believe the amount of potatoes they put in my florentine burrito. Every single time I got that burrito in the past, it was a hit(NO potatoes, lots of eggs, cheese, veggies). The burrito I had today consisted of potatoes, little bit of egg, and a little bit of cheese. Are you kidding me?! Never coming here again.

Came her specifically for their breakfast burrito. This monstrosity of a wrap is a great way to start your day full and at a good price. In fact, I could only eat half of my burrito, even after forcing myself to keep going! Clean and bustling dining area in the inside with a few chairs outside to let you eat al fresco. I just wish the servers didn’t forget to forward my order to the kitchen because I waited about 15 minutes for my chorizo burrito before going up to inquire about it. Also if my burrito didn’t have as much potato stuffing inside(I prefer heavy on the meat, not the fillers) I would have given this place my highest recommendation for breakfast burritos in the area.

I am embarrassed to say that, with the exception of a few weekends before our wedding last month, my husband and I have come here almost every Saturday for breakfast burritos(though I did just freely admit it to every Unilocaler that reads this). We always say we’ll try something different, but never have — I think it’s the orange sauce! I hate to do it, but I’ve got to give 4 stars here because I’ve noticed something slowly but surely changing about the burritos. I’m not sure if it’s the tortilla, the potatoes, maybe I’m going crazy… but other than that, they are still filling and tasty. You always see the same friendly faces behind the counter and they are quick to get your order out even when they are incredibly busy. Worth a try if you haven’t before!!!

The burritos here are undoubtedly the best. The orange sauce adds an additional twist. Ever since I moved to bay area, I have been constantly looking for a good breakfast burrito place and this place doesn’t disappoint you. The only thing I did not like here is the messed up ordering system. Both the order and pick up counter is in the same area. The counter is towards the back that makes it difficult for people to queue up. Hence it results in people crowding the place. They have very limited indoor seating and I would strongly suggest not to dine-in here since there is hardly any place left to sit and dine peacefully with so many people standing around the room waiting to either order or pick up the food. I will definitely come back here again but would do a phone order instead.

Their Breakfast burrito is dangerous. Like, will induce major sweats and the urge to take an immediate nap. And it’s huge. And full of cheese, beans and POTATO. For real. It’s very tasty but insanely filling. The store is cheap and cheerful and prices are good. Note that there’s only one bathroom and it can get pretty crowded.

300THREVIEW!!! I was walking one day to explore the area of where I lived because I just recently moved here and Café Rosalena intrigued me which led me to check it out. If you have a car, there are parking lots nearby but you could also park on the streets nearby. ATMOSPHERE: Café Rosalena was very comfortable. They both have outdoor and indoor seating. Depending on the time and the weather, seating outside with a favorable weather was relaxing. I opted from seating outside though because the noise level was above average when I visited since there were people trimming the branches of trees in the streets. Inside, I would guesstimate that about 20 – 30 people can be seated. You can get water nearby and for some reason, their water here definitely quenched my thirst. Have you ever had that feeling when you wake up in the middle of the night and have the urge to drink water and when you do it seemed like you were drinking from the fountain of Heaven? Yeah, it was like that here. FOOD: I ordered the bacon and avocado burrito. My initial thought was«wow, this is a huge burrito». I’m usually not a burrito guy but I wanted to try Café Rosalena and apparently, burritos were one of their specialties. My first bite off of the burrito was nothing special. Yes, it was tasty, but nothing great. My order came with their special sauce and so I put it on my burrito and see if it would improve the flavor and OMG it did! So if you order a burrito here, I highly suggest putting the sauce on it! CUSTOMERSERVICE: The female employee that helped me out was very friendly. I told her that it was my first time and asked for her suggestion and she seemed very knowledgeable of the products. She even suggested getting the famous sauce that they had. Would I come back here? YAAAS! I would love to try more of their breakfast food. Would I recommend this to a friend? For sure!

That orange sauce though… It pains me that I have to order a breakfast burrito just to get some!

I was very skeptical of all the hungover SCU student’s hype proclaiming Rosalena’s to have the«Best Breakfast Burrittos.» We came here on a Saturday morning and I ordered a Chorizo Breakfast Burrito w/Avocado(+$ 1). The burrito was, in my opinion, a good size for the price($ 6) and the tortilla was soft, warm and lined with cheese :) The eggs and chorizo were scrambled together and cooked perfectly. The potato portion was lacking but, I would have liked spanish rice instead of mushy potatoes anyway. The extra dollar for avocado slices was totally worth it because they give you huges slices! In fact there was so much avocado, I ended up taking a slice out. The«orange sauce» was nothing special when compared to La Vic’s but the salsa was pretty good. If you order your burrito To-Go, they give you a generous container of sauce. The café has parking in the back and is right beside Greenlee’s Bakery. The service was fast and friendly. I’m happy to add Café Rosalena’s to my breakfast spots. Although the Breakfast Burrito was really good, they would need to add some good spanish rice(not like the cliantro rice pilaf sh*t at Chipotle) for me to declare it the best in San Jose. I’d probably bring over a cup of La Vic’s Orange Sauce to round out the pack too.

The Breakfast Burrito was simple and good. The cheese was nice and gooey, cheddar or american perhaps? The potatoes were soft and the bacon was bacon. Add a lil’ Tapatio /Black Pepper mix and it’s a Thumbs Up! But seriously, fix the Interior P. S. The Mexican Fiesta Salad is a winner.

Honestly, I’m not a fan of breakfast burritos, but this place changed my mind! My boyfriend introduced me to this place last month, and I’ve been hooked since. So far I’ve only tried the bacon breakfast burrito, because it’s all he’s been raging about to me. Buttt, I did see chorizo as an option and I’ll be trying that next time: p. Each burrito is HUGE and it’s just $ 6. You know how places have bacon as a choice of meat, and they only put those bacon bits in? Not here! There were chunks of bacon in every bite! Like, sliced up bacon. What’s makes the burrito fulfilling though is all the potatoes they put in. Make sure you snatch a bottle of their orange sauce. I feel like the sauce completed the burrito. I also had to have my coffee, and the cashier recommended the hazel one. It was a bit bland tasting, so I poured a few packets of sugar in. However, my boyfriend got the regular coffee, and it tasted much better.

I really like the BLT’s here but this afternoon I was told I can only order breakfast on Sunday. They serve a breakfast sandwich with any meat. Not to sound like Jack Nicholson, but why not offer the breakfast sandwich with no eggs? Then you have a BLT… just a logical step, Rosalena. The customer service has deteriorated and it just feels awkward ordering at the counter. Today the cashier said she didn’t have the right change for two twenties. So she rounded up. It was just a few cents but she should have rounded down. She essentially helped herself to my money because they didn’t have the right change. I know it’s a small thing, but it has really been bothering me. One more thought… There are a ton of people being turned away at 1:00 and chairs stacked out front by 12:30. Why not stay open later? This place has customers being turned away. It’s a business. The food is there, why not keep serving? Someone could open a place next door and have a huge ready made clientele.

Local businesses always have the best food! Café Rosalena has San Jose’s best breakfast burrito — as stated around the inside of the café. Although I haven’t tried other ones in the area, I’ll agree with them! I went with the ham breakfast burrito. They also offered bacon, veggie, veggie florentine, chorizo, and sausage. I like how they aren’t skimpy at all. tons of eggs and potatoes inside. Only thing I would’ve liked more of was cheese. Seemed like it was all packed in the first and last bite. Otherwise, the burrito was hot, fresh and flavorful. They even have orange and red sauce bottles. I used the orange chipotle sauce — yum! It had the perfect amount of heat. Although we arrived more around brunch/lunch time, the line was still long. We were lucky enough to grab a table big enough outside. I wish their menu was easier to read from standing far away. Their menu is located on the right wall so you have to be at a certain angle or close enough up front to read it. I couldn’t find their drink menu easily either. Great place for a cheap but quality breakfast! It looked like some people called ahead so that’s an option if you’re in a hurry!

Café Rosalena. I like you. I was hungry when I walked in. You fed me in no time. Twice! The first time I came by I was alone. I walked by this place a couple of months ago and made a mental note to try their breakfast burrito since they boasts that it’s the best in town! Today I pulled that mental drawer open and searched my file for breakfast food close by. First time I tried their two eggs breakfast with bacon and toast. The eggs were made right– sunny side up, potatoes were seasoned well. Toast not dripping in butter. The bacon was twisted together and on the cheaper, thinner kind. So I will skip this combo and go for the sausage instead. Today I walked in with Adam who’s had many an encounter with the breakfast burrito kind. I on the other hand is a virgin to breakfast burito! My first time here was around 10 am on a weekday. It was not busy but there was a steady influx of customers. My order came in about 10 minutes. Today was a different story. At around 10 am it was a mad house with a steady throng of hungry customers. Service was still fast and friendly. Even their outside area was full! I’d love to sit inside as well but if it’s busy the inside area becomes a sea of line. That equates to not having some privacy while you’re eating when the lines snakes either behind you or to your left or right. The only two sitter table that was safe from this lack of privacy when the place is busy is located by the door. I popped my own cherry on this breakfast sausage burrito by choosing this place myself. The verdict? It’s freaking delicious! I love this encounter! $ 6. I also noticed their thick quiche for $ 4. That’s what I’m getting next time. They serve sandwiches as well. Seattles Best coffee is what’s served here. There’s usually street parking right in front. But if you’re not aware of this there’s parking behind them. Entrance is around the corner street by Starbucks. Oh yeah. I only tried a small amount of their orange sauce(I don’t sauce my food). It was excellent! You order to go it’s free in a little container. Oh yeah-Adam concurs that it is indeed very good! Lastly if you sit outside relax and listen for your name to be called in the loudspeaker when your order is ready.
