Citibank

The employees here have always been wonderful. Even when I must have been frustrating for them.
Not fond of the corporation as a whole – I thought I’d change banks when they took over regional Glendale Fed – but the service here keeps me with them.

Penelope was super helpful and sweet. I hate going to the bank like I hate going to the doctor. But this kinda changed my feelings. Thanks for the help today Penelope!

Just one word to describe the service over here. HORRIBLE. I met 1 old and 1 young Asian lady. I just want to break the 20 bills, but they force me to open an account with them. After I rejected and the manager allow me to change money, but the old Asian lady still talk shittt. I came to a bank but I thought I came to a flee-​market.

FYI — I’m not a big fan of Citi Bank, but unfortunately I’m stuck with them.
I have been coming here for years and service from the tellers have always been superb, they are friendly and helpful.
As much as I dislike Citi Bank, but every visit to this branch is enjoyable.

I have visited this branch during business hours to get cash advances and cash — a few times over the counter. The women have always been charming and helpful, and even provided great financial advice! My only gripe about this branch is one I share for all other Citibanks — why are you only open during 9 – 5?
Anyway, that’s what the ATMs are here for! Citi has dramatically improved the technology in their machines. You don’t need envelopes anymore, and you can get an e-​mail statement instead of a paper receipt you could easily lose. At this location there is only one ATM (they could use two due to all the foot traffic).
If you aren’t satisfied in any way with Citibank’s brick-​and-​mortar places, just give them a call. As a Gold member I have always had a positive experience over the phone.
I’m switching banks soon because I want to do everything online, but Citibank has always provided me with a solid experience. This branch is no exception, B+.

You really won’t know how helpful a bank is until there is a problem. We often find out the hard way.

Be careful with Citi Gold account, it charges you $ 30 per month if your balance is below 50,000. I changed my address a few months ago. By the time I received the forwarded bank statement, I was charged $ 30 for monthly service. The next day I went to the bank to close my account, I found out I have to pay 2^nd month service charge even I have not receive my 2^nd statement. Yes, I tried to ask the teller and her supervisor to waive portion of the fee. She said I should read the account agreement carefully and check my statemnet online. I told her I was not informed about the $ 30 monthly charge when I opened the account. Nothing matter, they are determined to take your money. I rate this citibank branch provides the worst banking service because the only service they provide is to take my money away.

Todd at the local branch wound up taking care of this and handled it (and my impatience) well, so I’m bumping this to three stars. I was furious when it happened, but he’s smoothed me over.
I’d still say be cautioned about their promotions and get anything in writing, though. Maybe that’s true everywhere these days. I hate feeling like you can’t just take someone’s word for something — that’s just sad. But, in the end, they did the fair and decent thing, so I have to give them credit for that. But it also took navigating several reps, each with a different story, to get there, which was frustrating.
Anyway, another bonus star for not holding checks or deposits and crediting them immediately. If a person’s account is in good standing, why not?
