Denny’s

This Dennys is the worst Dennys yet! First, ARMANDO has horrible customer service and so does CHRISTIAN the manager. I understand they may not be accustomed to larger crowds, but that doesn’t mean you can’t provide good customer service. There was about 20 of us, and he was not helpful at all. They broke the checks up by tables and there were 5 at my table. We just ewnted dessert, which shouldnt have been hard. Our bill came to $ 23.04 and everyone paid with cash ($ 11.72) and I put the rest on my card ($ 5.86). He charged my card twice! We left a tip on the table, and I signed my credit card slip for $ 5.86 and he not only charged me for my food, but gave himself a $ 5.86 tip on my card! That is an UNAUTHORIZED transaction!!! I had to walk back to Dennys (we’re from out of town and staying at a hotel) and CHRISTIAN the manager gave me lots of attitude!!! ARMANDO tried to tell me he never helped me and I never paid!!! I asked him «how did you get a receipt with my signature if I never paid?!» So, the manager figured it out (ARMANDO LIED) and told me it would take 3 days to give me my money back. I told them that is unacceptable! ARMANDO went in his pocket and pulled a wad of money out of his pocket and handed me my money!!! NEVER apologized! CHRISTIAN said she would talk to him (which I doubt) This is theft! Don’t waste your time or money!!!

If I can give them no stars I would I am so discussed by there ways of washing the dishes i had a lot of floating particles in my water and the manager said she would check it out then brought us another dirty water cup what a horrible place you are warned this place is bad and service is worse…

Like all Dennys’, so nothing too special. However, given its closeness to my motel in Gish when I was in San Jose for the CYD convention, it’s always good to dine there before heading to the Dog House to enjoy a few pints.
The waiters have all been great, keep it up, guys! Even late at night you guys are professional, courteous, and much more efficient than I thought people are humanly are allowed to at 2am. You’re also not far from the train station, I would dine here for breakfast before heading off downtown.

Our dinner pit stop after our flight from Honolulu to San Jose. Great service from Myra! Friendly service at 12 midnight is a plus! Food was much better than expected!

After leaving one Denny’s where the service was really really poor like half star poor and then coming to this location it was such a change this one had really respectful employees and happy waiters… I will be going to this one from now on

Roaches and pimps, not a good place. There’s another Dennys down the street, food is good and clean go there.

Christmas dinner fail! After taking care of my Christmas duties all day, I was wondering what was open and near my apartment. The options were Denny’s and 7 – 11. Little did I know 7 – 11 would have been the better choice.
I called in my order: a half order of nachos and the sirloin steak, medium rare, with Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes with gravy. It was sounding soooo good!
I got there 15 minutes after making the call since I was quoted between 10 – 20 minutes. I get there and it is pretty busy for Christmas. I go up to the front to tell them I was there and I had a phone order. She asks if I was the order with the nachos, I respond with yes and she then says «oops»…what does that mean?
I pay and she gives me my receipt and goes to get my food. It was ready which could be bad and could be good. I started to wonder how long the nachos were sitting there getting soggy…
I get home and I am ready to enjoy! I start with the nachos which were, of course, mostly soggy, but weren’t too horrific. I go to open the steak… sad sad steak.
The meal was cold, the steak was overcooked and the mashed potatoes had no gravy. After looking forward to this, I was so let down. I have gotten steak from Denny’s before and though it’s no steakhouse, it usually satisfies alright.
This time was just so disasterous! Not doing that again…

The food is just as delish as always however it seems like the quality and portions have significantly dropped off.

I know, it’s Denny’s… But for the love of all that’s holy, including the baby, why serve stone-​cold food? I’m not Steve Austin. Stone cold is not my preference setting.
I can’t even tell you if the food was good because the temperature regulates taste for me.
We are spending two days at the hotel next door, but, alas, we are not participating in this food rodeo again so don’t stay tuned for an update, my foodie friends.
PS, the table next to us had steam arising from their food… yes, I was jealous of their heat.

I’ve been living at a hotel right next to this Denny’s and have come here a bunch of times as a result. It’s a Denny’s and not a Michelin star restaurant so I’m not going to hold it to my normal unusually high patrician standards.
It’s been the only place open when I’ve got those food cravings at 4am and serves breakfast food 24/​7, what else do you need ?
The slams and the country fried steak are my favs. A glass of chilled strawberry lemonade is great on those sunny hot days that we have so so often in this rain-​starved valley.
The bad part about this Denny’s is that it’s in a shitty neighborhood, being next to all the airport hourly motels means that you’ll see a LOT of sketchy people here — I’ve seen crazy people, crack addicts, pimps with all their bling, a gang of bikers with swastikas on their forearms and hookers. Despite these conditions The staff does a good job of making sure that everything is in order.
Did I mention that the service is really fast even at times when the restaurant is super crowded

This one is better than the one down the road. Less of a wait time and better service. They also turn the a/​c on.

The bun on my hamburger was so rancid that I could smell it before it got all the way up to my face. The waiter put an EXTREMELY hot plate directly in front of my toddler without warning. We won’t be going back.

Cheap food at an expensive price, workers can be kind of lame, but it’s a denny’s, nothing gross I’ve witnessed, and the workers seem clean and nice when you get a good one.
It’s a denny’s don’t go in expecting five star everything.

Uh, is there an option for 0.5 stars? The place smelled like the dirty kid from day care. Everything was sticky and there was food all over the seats. The hostess didn’t even greet us when we walked in. She just said in a flat voice, «How many people.» Yeah, hello to you too. Thanks for the warm welcome lady.
The food took a while to come out and they were cold when they arrived. I asked for a medium rare t-​bone steak and it came out so rare, it might as well have just come off the cow. This seemed like the kind of place that the chef would spit in your food if you sent it back so I just ate it.
The waitress probably only came by 4 times including taking out order, dropping off water and dropping off food. She never asked us if we were doing okay during our meal. My boyfriend ordered unlimited pancakes and she never came back for him. Guess the limit is however many she wants to give you. She never gave us our check so we waited a good 20 minutes and then walked up to the register ourselves to pay our bill. Lame.

Delightful experience. Great bfast and really good coffee (coffee snob). Had a veggie omelette and fruit BOWL off thr 55+ menu. Fantastic old school juke box playing oldies. Very positive. Haven’t been to a Dennys for YEARS. I’ll be back!

Best dennys i have been to. It was a bit busy when me and my friends came here but the waiter was super sweet. Foods were awesome. We ordered unlimited pancakes, sirloin steak and shakes. All were super good. Will be coming back again.

Dennys is always A-​ok

I’ve been to a number of Denny’s restaurants and usually love the diner experience. This one however, disappointed severely. Nobody on our table finished their food cause nothing from the hash browns to the pancakes were edible.
The pancakes were rubbery on a plate that I’m pretty sure was tossed in the microwave, and the place reeked of some sort of wet dog/​fecal matter smell. Not what you want a whiff of before eating. Only reason that they earned (and I use the term «earned» loosely) their second star is cause they pre-​split the receipt, and the waitress was courteous. It’s not her fault if the place sucks.
So there you go; decent service, terrible «food». Just go to another area Denny’s.

Came here on 11/​25/​2014 on my birthday for their free grand slam.
Food was normal, same as any Dennys.
Here is where the 3 star comes in:
I got to this Denny’s around 6:30 AM, it was very dark. I assumed since I’ll be in and out of the place within 45 minutes, it’ll be ok to leave my backpack (along with my laptop) inside my pickup truck. You can see where I’m going with this. After I was done, I find out my truck have been broken into and the backpack was gone. However, theif was too focused on the backpack he missed my ipod in my cup holder.
Just as I was about to call 911, a police drives by, coincidence? I think not. The officer was acutally about to go somewhere else but he was able to let someone else go for him. According to the officer, the cameras at this Denny’s were very new because this «happens all the time» end quote.
So moral of the story? Hide yo kids, hide yo wives, and hide yo belongings.
SJPD claims to have 1 burglary detective, can you believe that? I don’t think I’ll ever get my stuff back.
Store owner claims to have let SJPD take the video evidence, but says he can’t show me the video in his room and he’d only be able to show me on his phone. SJPD cannot be reached for information.

Fast service for being a busy sunday morning.
Built my own grand slam and had a protein packed breakfast — 2 chicken sausage patties, 2 egg whites, 2 eggs, and 2 slices of turkey bacon.
Will have to try the pancakes next time — I saw peanut butter cup pancakes on the menu!
