Whoo! I can’t believe I’ve never checked this place out, but it’s so close to work, and PERFECT for lunch! If you’re looking for some fresh tasty Vietnamese food, this is the place! It’s a little pricier for Vietnamese food, but it tastes great! I tried their lemongrass tofu, and opted for garlic noodles instead of the salad since my coworkers highly recommended it. I was not disappointed! Their garlic noodles is on the buttery/oily side, but oh so yummy! Their tofu was good too. I really really enjoyed my meal here. Their app/sandwiches are pretty expensive for what it is. They don’t look as worth it in my opinion. Overall, great place for a quick bite!

I’ve been here a handful of time so I guess it’s time to write my review :) First, I loooove their vietnamese coffee. It’s super strong and not too sweet which is perfect for that afternoon pick me up during the busy work day. I also really like their pork bowl with the creamy sesame siracha sauce. Mmm mmm good. Eating the whole bowl gives me food coma so 2⁄3 is usually good for me, save the rest for din! …or that afternoon cravings. Yum! I recently discovered you can order ahead to pick up for those days you’re short on time. It’s genius.

Whoever the manager is you need to put this worker on check. I walked in with my friend and no one was present at the cashier register for a good 5 minutes. Eventually this girl literally looks at us and gives us bad vibes. As I approached the cashier register she pulled out her phone while finishing the food in her mouth. I stood there for a good 3 minutes and just left. NOTEVEN A HELLOORSMILE Worse customer service ever. Nothing but bad vibes.

Good, fresh, healthful vietnamese style food for reasonable prices. Good spot to grab a quick lunch with co-workers.

TL;DR: Fast-casual vietnamese fusion doesn’t quite deliver on flavor. Came in on a Friday night to find the place empty, although someone did pick up an order while I was there. Menu is «Chipotle-style»; order at the counter and if you’re eating in they’ll bring you your food. I ordered a brown rice bowl with pork, standard veggies, tamarind sauce, and an added egg roll. The egg roll was cooked to order. The wait was fine, and about what you would expect for fast-casual food. The eggroll lacked seasoning and was a bit bland. Usually this is remedied with a vinegar-based dipping sauce, but none was provided to me or available as a condiment. The rest of the bowl itself was quite good. The pork was done well and there was a good portion of vegetables(maybe a bit too much lettuce). I would have preferred a higher rice to lettuce ratio. Finally, while the tamarind sauce was indeed tangy, I didn’t taste a lot of tamarind, just acidity and fish sauce. Overall, it’s a great concept but the execution is a little sloppy. I might return in the future to try something else or see if they’ve improved. There’s definitely a lot of room for improvement.

I was really excited to try this place. Hopped in a car and drove right away knowing this place closes at 8pm. We got here at 7:30 pm and this place was completely deserted. All the chairs were up and the music was blasting loud. Open sign was still on. We walked in still ready to try it and when the cashier took our order, he asked if we were going to eat here or togo because they are about to close. So obviously, we were being kicked out and rushed even though we have yet to even order any food. I started telling him my order and they were out of garlic noodles and spring rolls. We ended up just leaving in disappointment. This place has so many good reviews but the service here was terrible and half of their menu was unavailable.

I met my GF for lunch here. Step 1 — you choose your meat or veggie option: pork, chicken, beef, shrimp, shiitake mushroom or tofu. Step 2 — choose style of preparation: bowls(rice noodles, white or brown rice, or salad), Vietnamese spring rolls, Vietnamese tacos, or Garlic noodles. Add ons include: eggrolls and/or fried sunny-side up egg. Step 3 — top it with lettuce, bean sprouts, pickled veggies, cucumber, mint, crispy shallots & cilantro also available green onions, jalapenos, basil. Last sauce it with either: classic fish sauce(nuoc mam), tangy tamarind, soy vinaigrette, peanut sauce, sriracha sauce or creamy sesame sriracha. I had the pork rice noodles bowl and added on pork/shrimp eggroll and a fried sunny-side up egg on top, with all the toppings and fish sauce(nuoc mam) on the side, and a Vietnamese iced coffee. I usually order the same pork & noodle with salad dish at other Vietnamese restaurants, but this was the first topped with a fried sunny-side up egg. It was so good and loved this twist on this traditional Vietnamese dish.

Good service Clear menu Food quality/freshness is good But the price and quantity do not go together. But it still understandable. after all it is on N. First street… considering the location I think it’s okay

For a good healthy meal go to this place. This is pretty much the go to within our work department and I’m sure with other businesses as well. Good quality food but of course on the pricey side. Almost $ 11 for a noodle salad and $ 4 for a spring roll. Keep up the good work. Gonna miss you guys.

The prices are reasonable, the portions are good, and the food is great(at least what I got). I really don’t have anything negative to say about the food. Great for something fast and and filling. The only negative is the shady people around the area at night. People(perhaps homeless) will just loiter in and out, which is a little concerning for patrons.

Eat Viet packs some serious flavors and is a nice mix up from the array of eateries in the area. Quick and very tasty takeout dishes will keep me coming back. I am a big fan of the chicken tacos and garlic noodles.

3⁄5 solid stars Eh, not that great… This is an Asian restaurant that is NOT run by Asian ppl. Ordered: Pork w/garlic noodles: The salad was really tasty, but the pork was just OK, and the garlic noodles were very disappointing. IF i do come back, I would avoid the garlic noodles.

Amazing little FRESH Vietnamese place! I was expecting more of a sit-down restaurant, but didn’t need it… This was a bit more like a tiny Vietnamese Chipolte-style place with custom ordering at the counter… We just don’t have a multitude of Vietnamese places on the east coast, so this was a great find!(Can I start a franchise back East?) Step 1: Pick your protein: Pork, Chicken, Beef, Shrimp, Shitake Mushroom or Tofu. Step 2: How do you want it? Bowl, Spring Rolls, Viet Tacos or Garlic Noodles. Step 3: Top it with whatever you want… Yeah. It was Ducking Felicious! I got Pork Spring Rolls(3) and cleaned my plate! Had some Vietnamese Iced Coffee too…

Remember when Eminem was obsessed with Mariah Carey & she wrote that song? I feel like I’m Eminem here bc I’m OBSESSED with this place. And yeah, I all capped your ass in the second sentence. Luckily for me, this place is a hop, skip and jump from my office. There’s parking here but it gets crazy during 12 – 1. There are 3 steps to ordering: 1. Choose protein(highly recommend the beef & shitake mushroom). The pork & chicken weren’t bad, just not my faves. The beef is marinated in this garlic-sesame concoction, which is like my version of crack. The addiction is real y’all. As in I googled how to make this. 2. Choose bowl options: rice noodles, brown/white rice or salad. You can also get garlic noodles($ 1.50), add an egg roll or fried egg(extra cost). The salad comes with pickled veggies which are tart & crisp. 3. Choose toppings and and sauce. I get all the toppings, the crispy shallots are the bomb. I also really like the creamy sriracha and tangy tamarind. I also tried the brined lemon soda, and that’s, let’s say, an acquired taste. Service is great, everyone is super friendly & genuinely nice. Meals are usually around $ 11 for me, but the portion is large. So there you go… get thee to Eat Viet! And don’t try to steal my mayorship. Because I’ll find you.

I was searching for a place similar to Asian Box and VN Grill near where I work and I found this place and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad I came across this place! This is the same similar vietnamese chipotle style bowls that the other two places offer. I decided to get the traditional pork over rice noodles and the first thing I notice was they don’t charge extra for«premium» sauces! I went for the peanut sauce and the creamy sriracha sauce which were both great flavors in the bowl together. The pork was super tender and had a nice char to it. I will come back here again and try their other meats as well!

This place reminded me a lot of VN Grill in San Jose on Brokaw. I liked this place better because of the choices of sauces. Everything tasted really fresh and healthy.

Small and crowded, and service was a bit slow on a very busy day, but the food was pretty good. I had the chicken bowl with rice noodles with the peanut sauce and fish sauce. The portions were pretty large, particularly the chicken. Nothing stood out in particular about the food but I thought it was good value and everything tasted fresh. The peanut sauce was somewhat bland. I certainly would come back and try more of the items. The whole plaza is crazy crowded at lunchtime.

Similar concept as VN Grill but much smaller. And I like that I can add a fried egg to my rice bowl. I haven’t tried the rice bowl but if I were to order it in the future, I’d hella add an egg to it. It was leg day therefore it was high carb day so I got the tacos. The tortillas were soft, the filling(banh mi pickled vegetables and meat) was fresh but the thing that stood out to me was their service and Sriracha sauce. Even my coworker that is fairly new to any type of cuisine other than American liked what he got(he ordered the same as me). Parking is HORRIBLE. Either come around 11 or come after 1:30PM.

I was around the area and looked this place up on Unilocal. It was another VN Grill kind of place to me but I had high hopes since they had more yummy items on their menu. The interior of this place is really cool and modern. The wooden furniture made me think of how awesome my food pictures would look against them to post on Instagram lol. I ordered the shiitake mushrooms with brown rice and all the things that come in it except the pickled veggies(because I hate those!), fried egg, and with the soy vinaigrette sauce. I also ordered a chicken spring roll. The service was pretty quick. I didn’t have to wait long at all. I have to say that my favorite was the 1 spring roll I ordered with peanut sauce. It tasted so fresh and just so good! I was eating it in the car in traffic while my boyfriend was driving and I literally devoured it in like a minute. As for the bowl, I thought they were going to give me the sauce in a separate container but I guess they already dump it in the plate for you? I didn’t like that because by the time I got home, my rice was submerged and soggy with the sauce… So I skipped eating the rice and just ate the veggies and mushrooms on top. :| Overall it was good. I would like the try other things on their menu because I personally like this place over VN Grill. Also, that chicken spring roll was delicious! I’m coming back for you…

Hooked up with the fabulous Bryan R( ) for lunch one day, and we decided to check out Eat Viet(EV) on the recommendation of a co-worker’s friend – despite the dreaded Loon E 4-star average( ). EV has a straightforward, Chipotle-style layout: you pick your meat(pork, beef, shrimp, chicken, etc.); pair it with some kind of carb(e.g., noodles, rice, etc); and then pick your poison(aka sauce). I went with the Pork(Thit Nuóng), Garlic Noodles($ 1.50), Peanut Sauce and I threw a fried egg(95¢) on top of all that – because I can, son! I also ordered a Viet Iced Coffee(cà phê sua đá) for good measure. Pork(Thit Nuóng) — A fairly pedestrian version of the ubiquitous Vietnamese grilled pork that you’ll find all over the Eastside; the flavor was OK, but definitely a Gringo version. The egg however, was cooked perfectly and the highlight of the meal. 2.75*Pork/5*egg Garlic Noodles– So, let me get this straight: they charge you an extra $ 1.50, and they give you *less* than if you ordered the standard noodles?! Oh, but they supplement it with a scrumptious salad, so it makes it all better… Sarcasm aside, the noodles were nothing special, and not worth the«upgrade.» Why are most places afraid to kick up the Garlic flavor in their Garlic Noodles is beyond me. 2.5* Sauce– Run-of-the-mill peanut sauce, that was a little too creamy for me. I ended up getting an extra bit of their creamy Sriracha, and it was actually really good; nice blend of spice and dairy. It would go good with just about anything. 3*Peanut/5*Creamy Sriracha Viet Iced Coffee– Not the worst rendition of this classic Viet drink, but it was definitely not authentic; it could’ve used more coffee flavor, but overall not bad. Tasted like something you’d get at a fast food chain. 2.75* Service & Ambiance– EV has a pleasant, clean and modern feel to it, albeit a bit cramped, but you can’t fault them for that. The tight quarters, lots of people and what must’ve been the world’s noisiest HVAC made the interior almost deafening by the time we left; I’d recommend sitting outside, or getting it to go. The staff were all very friendly, and were able to answer any questions we had. Service 4*/ Ambiance 2* Value– The initial price($ 7.95) of the bowls are OK, but by the time you add in the extras you’re looking at well-over $ 10. That’s a little hard to swallow for those of us who are used to paying $ 3 – 4 for a huge Viet sandwich that twice as satisfying. I wouldn’t have minded the price, so much, if the food was up to snuff. 2* While not awful, nothing at EV really stood out and left me wanting to come back; if it had a better value, I’d probably have considered it. Overall, I’d say 2.5-stars, but since I doubt I’m coming back I’ll bump it down to two.
