Don’t know how this place is still running, horrible customer service, food takes forever even if you are the only person in the restaurant, food is overpriced for its quality. Server/​cashier should get some basic training on customer service.

This place is overrated, their super chavelas are not all that great and they are a bit over priced for what they offer. Waitresses seem to be all over the place and we were charged for things we did not order. Highly unlikely I will go back

The shrimp here is out of this world good. The taste is so different from anything I’ve tasted. Shrimp tasted fresh. I also loved my shrimp burrito also. Place is in a sketch area but hey, it’s East side San Jose baby.

Greatest micheladas and shrimp but poor
Customer service. Always gets your order incorrectly and takes 45 minutes to get three tacos. Karaōke nights are fun here though!

Horrible !!! Went with 6 people took over an hour to receive food. Each plate came at separate times so could not eat together. Orders were wrong ! Not a good place to eat if you plan on doing other things throughout your day plan on being there for few hours if your in a large group. Only one waiter and 1 kitchen maybe 2 most !!!

Went to this place a while back but the one thing that kept ringing in my head was SHRIIIIMP! The tastiest shrimps I have eaten. So flavorful with a hint of spicy. Literally the best thing that can be put on top of a ice cold glass of Negra Modelo. The super chavelas run $ 12.50 (choice of light or dark beer, shot of tequila, salt rim and let’s not forget 8 Jumbo SHRIMP) I had a few tacos as well the Pastor and Fish taco. Those tacos were another amazing flavor in themselves. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves tasty food and drinks, especially if you love SHRIMP! I will be coming back soon!

El jalapeño restaurant, cuenta con riquisimas micheladas, con su autentico y original sabor, se las recomiendo 100% ,
La comida es real mente fresca, acompañada de tortillas echas amano. El ambiente es familiar y el servicio muy bueno .
Los molajetes de él jalapeño son sumamente deliciosos .
Es un gran equipo el que trabaja para brindarnos este servicio regresare pronto.

Who makes sangria with tequila?! This place! As crazy as it sounds, the drink was actually pretty good! As for food, I had 3 carne asada tacos which were small (similar to the size of street tacos) but a perfect portion for me. If you have a big appetite, I would double up your order to 6 like my boyfriend did. Irma was our server and she was very friendly and fast to bring us our food. The menu is reasonably priced and service was great, no complaints here!

Live karaōke on Saturdays! Prepare for loud music lol…
My favorite thing here is the chavelas (or micheladas) with grilled shrimp all around the edge. Delish!
Food here is also legit — I recommend the fajitas, and the enchiladas were great too.

Micheladas are in point in this joint, service on other hand sucks. It’s not a large restaurant but with three servers service should be attentive. Ordered guacamole and received only 2micheladas n hour later. Prices are way too high for area n service

We had a couple dishes here and their michelada with shrimp. It was all delicious. We sat outside and my daughter was enjoying the young kids playing soccer. They made sure to check on us every so often.
We would come back for more.

All I can say about this place, is that they have the BEST CHAVELAS. I can not find them like this anywhere.
So glad my best friend took me here. I had 4 modelo chavelas and they were perfect every time. I am not sure if its the lime or the pepper. But my goodness. Every time I go back to San Jose I really have to make sure I go to El Jalapeño.
They even serve it with 2 grilled shrimps that you let sit in your chavela, omg HEAVEN!
