Loud music blaring so you can’t have conversation over food. Food severely overpriced and overall lacking in taste. Our beans were bland and our rice was hard! None of us actually finished our meal. They also don’t make their tortillas fresh, they are store bought and heated in the restaurant. It isn’t exactly what you would call the authentic Mexican experience as most Mexicans will only opt for restaurants that make fresh dishes as they can easily buy and reheat tortillas at home(also the general rule of thumb that you don’t go out to eat food the same quality you can cook at home). Why go out to pay for 3 heated tortillas when you can buy an entire pack for that price? I ordered the fried shrimp plate and for a side of rice, beans, and 7 shrimp, we paid $ 14.99. Maybe I have been spoiled by La Fuente Restaurant in Soledad that serves me an entire plate full of fried shrimp but dear god, I was shocked! I had recently paid $ 13.99 for 5 shrimp so geez I was over paying so much for friend skrimps! Also, I don’t know what they did to the shrimp but they were fried in a circle fashion where the middle was just fried to hardness and shrimp around it. It was interesting and we think it may have been because the shrimp may have not been butterfly cut. Also, stay away from their bathrooms. They stink and are badly ventilated.

El rincon is literally right around the corner from my house. So I always walk there for food. It is such a nice little spot to enjoy really really good Mexican food. I am very very picky when it comes to Mexican food, but here everything is made with perfection. Everything and anything you order is great. I typically get the enchiladas plate or the carne asada burrito. My favorite Mexican spot, hands down. Better than any on story& king or story& white

I rate based on both taste and cost. For the price and speed of service, this place is great. Authentic, delicious food for low cost. Great horchata too. I usually get the carnitas

This Taqueria is right by my house. I’ve been going here for about 3 years now, when I need my taco fix quick, this is the spot I roll to. I typically get their carnitas tacos(with a side of rice), which is my fave, not too greasy, but greasy enough to cure my grease fix. I’ve also tried their carne asada which I never order anywhere but the carne asada was delish. When I’m feeling extra hungry though, I also get a carnitas quesidilla along with my tacos & rice, soooo bomb! Ps. they also have lunch/combo specials and a PLUS is they accept credit/debit, which is hard to come around at a Taqueria on the Eastside of San Jose.

this is a good spot to go to when you are hungry and it’s late at night. They are open from 8 am to midnight 7 days a week. the location is at the dead end of jackson rd into story. They primarily cater to mexicans, as most of the menu is in Spanish, all the specials on the table are listed in spanish, and the jukebox is spanish only. They have some bomb ass chicken, birria and chile verde. they tend towards spicy food. tortas are $ 4.50, dinner plates with rice, beans and salad are $ 10. I haven’t tried the mariscos, but they look tempting. The carne asada is only okay, it’s a tad dry. They also serve beer and blended margaritas, but the mixed drinks aren’t on the menu. all the food comes with free chips and salsa. I really dig their pico de gallo salsa. they sell fresh squeezed carrot and OJ, for like $ 3.75, I haven’t tried it. there is an ATM inside as well. The wall has a giant mural of an aztec warrior holding a buxom swooning lady. that makes me happy.
