Exec Cleaning and Maid Service

So this service is the same as several other services — all use Handy, and really just different sites to the same service.
Poor communicators, misrepresent their actual availability, and then make it as difficult as possible to reach either customer service or get money back (even if no service was rendered).
Look elsewhere, and if you find something, spend some time ensuring the company is not just
in disguise.

I booked an appointment well in advance so that I could get my home cleaned before a party that evening. The cleaner did not show up. I was not given a call as to why she was late or when I may expect her. After 30 minutes with customer service (and getting accidentally hung up on once), I was only told that she was not answering her phone and that my only options were to get a refund or to reschedule, neither of which were helpful.
My cleaner eventually showed up (almost an hour late). This obviously threw off my schedule for the day, and forced me to spend 40 minutes that I did not have to spare with customer service.
If you are looking for a reliable company that will show up on time, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
Update: though I expressly told Handy how many bathrooms and bedrooms that I wanted cleaned and the size of my home, they did not reserve enough time to clean everything. Therefore I was left with a partially clean home. Though customer service gave me a credit because my cleaner was late, it will never be redeemed because I will NEVER use these services again.

I tried this service off of an Internet advertisement. I got a great deal and figured it would be worth it no matter how well the cleaning was performed.
I was pleasantly surprised when Martha C. showed up a little early for the appt. She was ready to work with all the necessary tools of her trade. She listened carefully to my specific requests and then got busy. She worked hard for more than four hours and I’m very happy with the results. She spoke excellent English and was a pleasure to work with. I have already booked her to return on a revolving basis every two weeks. I feel very confident in wholeheartedly recommending Exec and Marth C.

The cleaner, Maria, was very friendly. She was nice but her cleaning did not reach my expectations. I made sure that my house was picked up and free if clutter to make it more convenient for her. Dishes wear done and put away before she got to our home. The house was really well kept.
I purchased a Groupon for $ 64.00 for a three bedroom house. This service included 4 hours of cleaning in all room. Bedroom, Living Room & Common Areas included: dust and wipe all accessible surfaces, clean mirrors and glass fixtures, vacuum and Swiffer the floors, take out trash and recycling. Bathrooms included: wash and sanitize the toilet, shower, tub, and sink, dust and wipe all accessible surfaces, clean mirrors, and glass fixtures, Swiffer the floors (vacuum rugs and mats, if necessary), take out trash and recycling. Kitchen included: Dust and wipe all accessible surfaces, clean exterior of stove, oven and fridge, clean sink and load up dishwasher with dirty dishes,
vacuum and Swiffer the floors, take out trash and recycling.
She did not dust in ANY of the bedrooms. The Tv’s, dressers, night stands, and bed post where not dusted. The fans where not dusted. In fact, the only thing that was touched in the bedrooms was the rooms got vacuumed.
The living room tables and mantels where not touched nor was the TV. I didn’t expect a ton but I was hoping dusting would have been taken care of. Maria did attempt to dust the blinds but not much effort was put into it.
In the bathrooms the showers didn’t look different from how they started. I did notice Maria DID dust the candles in the bathroom and wipe down the pictures in the restroom. The mirror had streaks and blotches still on it. Behind the toilet and around the bottom of the toilet wasn’t wiped or cleaned. I asked her to «re-​whip» the toilet. She said, «well, I can do it again but I scrubbed it with commit and I think it is rust or stained.» Porcelain doesn’t rust so I don’t know how it would rust. I knew it wasn’t rust or stained and I wanted her to whip down the outside of the toilet not just the toilet bowl. The toilet bowl was wiped but not well. She didn’t do the rim of the toilet. I really didn’t want to argue so I just figured I would deal with it on my own. After she left I grabbed a simple Clorox whip and just cleaned it up myself. It took me care less than five minutes to solve the problem I just asked her to do. I had to ask her to clean behind the door of the bathroom and she said she must have forgotten to do that part. Neither of the bathrooms got their garbage emptied. In fact, she added to the garbage.
Finally, in the kitchen, she dusted the blinds, wiped down the oven and microwave well enough. But she did not touch or wipe down the outside of the fridge. She did not wipe the table. Did not wipe or dust the picture or clock. She did not wipe the garbage can down. She did take the trash out of the kitchen. She cleaned the kitchen sink but left the sink dirty with the crumbs from the stove. I was hoping the cabinets would have been wiped down but they didn’t get touched either.
I do feel like some of the tools that she uses does not help her have successful results. I honestly would never use this service again nor would I recommend this service to anyone. She also asked me to use some cleaners, she used my broom and dustpan, and asked to use my vacuum. She said she had one in her car but just wanted to use mine. At that point, I told her I no on the vacuum because one of the the things promised was a high powered vacuum. And my vacuum kind of sucks.
Once Maria left I ended up dusting all the bedrooms, dusting the mantel, tv, and tables in the living room. I also had to wipe down the cabinets, fridge, and re-​clean the sink. I also had to mop because the floors still had spots. I had to wipe the mirror again and wipe around the toilets. The showers didn’t look any better but I was to tired to get to those that night. She did not move any of the chairs to mop under the tables. Therefore, I had to mop again.
Honestly, once she left I looked around my house and wondered what she did for 4 hours. I had my family stay outside pretty much the entire night from 7−11pm. I have a 6, 7, and a 19 mo old. Plus my parents where visiting. We stayed outside so we would not be in the way. I never give reviews like this but I am just so disappoint with the service. The reason I signed up for this is because I am 7 mo pregnant and could use the help. Plus, I wanted to try out the service to see if I wanted to hire on Maria or use this company. I would never use the cleaning service again, nor would I ever use the handy man service because of this first impression.

DO NOT purchase an Amazon Voucher for this business as they mis-​represent that they are «subject to availability» but don’t state that you can ONLY use the voucher to book at 7pm… I don’t want someone in my house cleaning until 11pm and would have never purchased had this been stated.
I specifically read all restricts and saw «subject to availability» so I went to their regular website, saw that they have plenty of slots available, and then purchased the voucher. It wasn’t until I tried to use the voucher (immediately after purchase) that it showed only 7pm available to use with the voucher, and their online chat person verified that this was the only time you can use the voucher. That online chat person also tried to tell me that Amazon says the slots for vouchers are different from the slots without a voucher, but I don’t see that anywhere in the «what you need to know».
Based on the mis-​representation I’ll never choose to use this service, hoping Amazon refunds me…

If it had been anything but a $ 30 Groupon, I would have called to complain. We were out of town when the «professional» came to clean. I did not get the call/​text they said I would receive prior to my appointment, but whatever I was out of town.
I’m back from vacation yesterday and my house doesn’t look a lot different than when I left. She didn’t clean the kitchen at all — no mopping, no wiping down, she didn’t even touch the one lonely plate sitting in the sink to put it in the dishwasher, she didn’t vacuum the bedroom or swap out the sheets I had laying on the bed, she didn’t wipe the windows or the sills, she didn’t clean the sink in the bathroom… the only reason I know she was actually here at all is because she left me a note on the back of a «housekeeping checklist» that was all checked off although none of it was done.
Between me and all of you, the Bay area has some really terrible house cleaning services and this is just another one on the pile. I’ll never call them again.

It is important to note that EXEC doesn’t actually have their own people, it is just a service to book screened professionals.
After waiting an hour past the scheduled time for the cleaner to show up I called the customer service number at Handy book to find out what happened. No one knows!
I booked this service 4 weeks ago, and made sure that I could be available, I cant just reschedule it for another day –if I had that kind of time, I wouldn’t need someone to clean my house. I’m very disappointed that it is so hard to find a cleaning company where people show up! (This is my second try in two months, Action Cleaning had the same problem)

I understand that each cleaner is different, but our cleaner (don’t want to give her name) was the worst out of all the cleaners we’ve had come in (Briones Maintenance, Homejoy, IA Housecleaning). Therefore this review is for the cleaner, not necessarily the company Exec Cleaning that sent her. She was nice and polite (wore booties, brought green cleaning supplies, friendly) but there were a couple pain points: she left our mopped floor so wet it soaked my socks, and in the places that were dry there were crazy wet spots since San Jose has hard water, and it looks like she mopped it but didn’t go over the floor with a dryer mop or something else to soak up the water; she tried to clean our ‘messes’ which left us searching for a vase and a coke bottle (under the sink with our cleaning supplies), all our things in the dishwasher, most of which were placed with our pots and pans even though they weren’t pots or pans; and finally she was slow and also left green cleaning solution spots all over our bathroom sink and tub (instead of washed away??). We did give her a tip for her time, not for her work ethic: T
P. S. Other pluses were that she arrived on time, and the company sent two texts reminding me of the appointment the day before, and a text a couple hours before the cleaner came.

They came to clean my apartment today. There were two of them, and before they arrived, they sent an SMS message, so I knew they were coming today. I like the email and SMS reminders! I actually forgot to schedule this on my calendar, and these reminders helped me remember when they were coming!
When they arrived, I showed them around, and I am not kidding — they did an amazing job of cleaning. I am 95% satisfied with their cleaning. They did such an awesome job! Now, I’m a perfectionist — it is impossible for mere mortals to receive a score of 100% from me. However, they did an excellent job, and their work was heads and shoulders above the other two cleaning services that I tried in San Jose — both of which sucked in comparison to Exec!
I also really like how the tip is included in the very reasonable price.
In my opinion, these cleaners are honest, hard-​working, like their jobs, and are super friendly and polite. I absolutely recommend them, and if I may be so bold, I suggest that you use Exec, rather than other cleaning services. This company is the real deal!
PS: At the end, they left me a little box of mints. Honestly, I can’t say enough positive things about them!

Its that time again for spring cleaning which I dread. I decided to give Exec a try. I’ve used them for other services and thought they could help me out tremendously.
When arriving home everything was spotless and organized. Even the top shelves in which I can’t reach without a ladder were dusted and sparkling clean. I would highly recommend using this service and will use them again.

Excellent work — over the top with attention to detail. I can tell they care about developing a solid reputation.

I ordered EXEC cleaning for the first time not knowing exactly what to expect. The price point seemed a tad high, but when EXEC was done with my house the value was immediately apparent. The cleaners were accommodating and friendly and they left the house SPOTLESS — and I mean spotless. Every nook and cranny was treated with care, which is saying a lot (I live with two other guys).
Overall, its an easy ⁵⁄₅ stars for me.

Apartment is spotless after an exec cleaning. Trash was taken out, dishes left out were washed and put away, towels from the bathroom were run through the wash, beds were made, rooms were tidied, and a they even left some candy!
It’s quite nice coming home after Exec has been there; I wish I could do it every day.

They are timely, curious, and meticulous. They used their own cleaning materials, and vacuuming equipment. I The mirrow and shower glass was spotless. I could find no problems with their service.

The Exec cleaning crew is top notch. Not only are they fast and caring of your belongings, but they are also extremely amicable — it was more like having a friend over than a cleaner.

Both my wife and I work quite a bit (I commute to and from SF, so don’t get home until late) so we’ve historically been pretty big consumers of house cleaning services just to keep things manageable with multiple kids and pets etc. We heard about Exec cleaning from some friends in SF and decided to give it a go one week when our regular maid service couldn’t make it.
We’ve got a pretty good setup, but I have to say I was impressed with Exec. They came at the right time and all the cleaning products seemed good. The company sent two cleaners who got started right away. The whole thing took about 2.5 hours, which is impressive because with dogs and cats hair gets everywhere but they were able to do a good job cleaning it up. My dog Grover even took to one of the cleaners and seemed to really like her.
Also appreciated that I could book online; haven’t seen any other services like that. It was extremely convenient and I liked that I didn’t have to run to the ATM to get cash.
