Express Alterations

Wish I got the lady who worked there name, but she is so wonderful. Came in and needed my dress to be altered by the end of the day and she said yes with no questions asked. Told me to come at 4:30. Came at 4. And it was already done. She did an amazing job. Usually charged $ 25, but charged me $ 20! Thank you for your amazing service. I will def be coming back.

I brought my vintage leather jacket in to have the lining repaired. New material for the lining was ordered and the entire lining even to the sleeves was replaced. I couldn’t be happier. The price was right and the workmanship was superb!

Took my wedding dress here and it was a nightmare. I got my dress back in WAY worse condition than when I dropped it off. I wish I never had them touch it! Stay away!!!

So awesome! The lady knew and did exactly what I wanted without me even having to explain in detail. I brought in a bridesmaid dress with 4 layers and the hem didn’t seem even. She fixed it to make it perfectly even and perfectly layered with same day service.
She really shows she has the experience and understands how dresses are supposed to look. I’m so thankful how my dress turned out. And very happy it was done in a timely manner. Just in time for the wedding!

Love this alterations shop! They do an amazing job. When you get your item back there are no stains or unwanted marks or unwanted tailoring. The store owner is super nice and the pricing is reasonable. They also have a really good return time and they always have it done in time for your event whether it’s prom or just a casual event. I would highly recommend this store for alterations no matter what item it is. I’m also 4“11 so I have to get a lot of tailoring done and it’s done perfectly.

I can’t say enough great things about this place! I had a near wedding dress disaster and Pauline completely saved the day. I had brought my dress somewhere different initially… and in a nutshell the first place butchered it. When I picked it up 5 days before my wedding it was practically falling off of me because it didn’t fit in the bust area (among many other things that were wrong). Thank goodness we found Express Alterations off of a recommendation from a friend and when we brought the dress in, Pauline said that she could have it done in 3 days.
I was almost in tears when we brought in the dress, but the second that she looked at it she started rattling off things that needed to be fixed and she knew EXACTLY what to do.
When I picked my dress up the day before my wedding it fit like a glove! I would absolutely trust her again with any of my alterations and would recommend her to anyone!

Agreed for pick up a certain day and then made you came back, garment not ready. Excuse that machine broke (. No back up machine? Or notification to customer that it will be delayed).
Came back the second time and made us wait another 15 mins!
First and last time we’ll use your business!

I went in just a day before I had to get a dress altered and I was very satisfied, it was ready to go early the next day and I loved the fit. I’m a teen and extremely picky but this place gets it right the first time. The woman at the counter took her measurements very quickly you literally go in and out the door, I very much trust and will be coming back.

Hemmed 3 pairs of pants. Accommodated the time I needed it done. Looks like original stitching but you have to tell them that’s what you want. $ 15 per article of clothing. Way way better than anything I could have done.

Avoid at all costs. Never done business with someone so dishonest. It’s been almost FORTY TWO DAYS and my suit hasn’t been hemmed yet?! Seriously?
I came in on 8÷01÷2015 with one new suit that needs to be tailored and 2 pants with zippers that needed fixing. I paid $ 220 up front.
I never even questioned the charge or looked at the receipt. I was under the impression of working with someone experienced that will get my suit tailored to perfection. I am the type that have no problem paying extra if it means that the job will get done right.
TWO weeks later I pick up my items, and turns out that they forgot to tailor the suit pants. I drive back (again) to drop them off and was asked to come back after one week.
Three weeks to hem pants? I was upset, but never said a single word. I completely understand that we are human and mistakes happen. I smiled and said thank you and left.
Today is 9÷12÷2015, I never got a call back to pick up my pants. My daily job keeps me busy to the point that I am barely able to give a follow up call during their business hours.
I drop by (for the third time) under the impression of picking up my pants since they’ve been sitting there for FORTY TWO DAYS, and it turns out that THEY’RE STILL NOT HEMMED YET!!!
This is just unacceptable. I did not say a word to the tailor. I hate making scenes but inside I was boiling. See, I didn’t even ask for a refund, because I don’t give a flying f**** about the money. But guess what? I have 4 new suits that needed tailoring that I was going to bring here, but after being treated this way? I will make sure I will never spend a penny here. Was also going to refer my co workers who buy suits on a monthly basis. You just lost that too.
One and a half month to get a suit tailored… What a joke.

Pauline and I had our second fitting today for my wedding dress. After a week of cooling down, I was able to see that Pauline was very much apologetic. She did a great job at fixing the seams and shoulders of my vintage-​remade dress, was steaming the dress when I came in, and overall wanted to be the one to personally alter my dress as it’s a rather difficult one — lots of train and lace to deal with.
A bit of an insight — while my fitting, I noticed two customers that came in. One customer needed his father’s suit altered and the other bride needed her rehearsal dress altered as well — all needed to be done by tomorrow. Pauline explained that it was a tight squeeze but that she’d do her best to have them be done. Overall, Pauline tries her best to do right by everyone, including the last minute squeezes.
While I wish I had been notified of the needed time extension, I can understand Pauline’s difficult situation.
My next — and last — fitting is in November, which will be reviewing my bustle, some hem repair, an eye and hook placement, hemming, and lace tear repair.
My only suggestion for brides or long-​term projects would be to call ahead of time — maybe the week before your appointment, to check in on progress and if Pauline would need more time to get the job right and done.

I had to get alterations done to a newly purchased suit for a short notice out of town event, and was incredibly pressed for time due to it being a holiday weekend. I’m really glad I found Express Alterations, as they went above and beyond to get the work done quickly and professionally, even coming in on a holiday.

I’ve been going to Express Alterations for 6 years! I came back earlier from picking up a dress.
I’m always getting my clothes hemmed since I am 4ft11.
I’m very pleased with the quality of her work. She’s hemmed my jeans, yoga pants, maxxi dresses, and even my prom dress. She also fixed my straps on some of my dresses.
I’ve never experienced not having my clothes being done on time. I will definitely be back in the future!

I needed some pants hemmed on a Sunday. I’t only took an hour. Great job.

I trust Pauline with any job — big or small. She’s a pro and her prices are great. She’s been my seamstress for 10 years and I wouldn’t go anywhere else

I went to Pauline to get 3 pairs of pants hemed (nurse scrubs and golf pants) she did a great job and even made some really great suggestions that made my golf pants have an even better fit. The turn around time was quick and service was great. I will definitely be back for all additional hems in the future and when my blazers come in I’ll be back for some sleeve shortenings. Very positive Pauline will do an amazing job on those too.

Took a pair of jeans in to be hemmed and the lady did a great job. They were ready 24 hours later. It wasn’t cheap ($ 15) but I’m happy with the job she did. When I need something else sewing, I’ll be going back. I’m glad I found this business on Unilocal

Went here on a Saturday afternoon to get my zipper fixed for my boyfriend’s one piece. He broke off a couple of the zipper’s teeth on the bottom near the bottom stop and it couldn’t close or zip up. The lady asked me for $ 15 and said she’d have it done by tomorrow. I came in on Sunday afternoon and it is done.
I go on my way and check what kind of work she did to it and I noticed she didn’t even replace the zipper. Instead, she put a bottom stop above the part which didn’t close. I thought it was pretty smart because she did fix the problem but it was lazy how she didn’t just redo the zipper like she said she would. My boyfriend’s one piece looks ok and its not noticeable unless you really look at it. Seemed like a $ 2 dollar job instead of a $ 15 though.

Pauline is great! I came in 5 weeks before my wedding needing to get my dress altered. At first, I was scared that it wouldn’t be finished on time based on what Pauline told me on the phone when I first called, but I came in anyway to see what she could do. She pinned my dress in different places and recommended taking off some of the material underneath the dress as I had lost some weight and the dress was big on me all over. I was a bit shocked by how much my alterations cost ($ 300+), but based on how much she ended up taking off, I can see why.
She told me to come in at 10:30AM on ⁸⁄₆ in order to have another fitting, but on 8/​5, I called to confirm and she said come at 5:30 PM. Uh oh… I was definitely nervous then that she didn’t have my dress done, but when I came in, the dress was perfect! She offered to steam my veil along with the dress, and I picked it up ⁸⁄₈ at 10AM. My dress looked amazing; the length was perfect, and she did an excellent job taking in my dress at some difficult places. Pauline does great work at a quick pace. My entire family has gone to her for their alteration needs — particularly wedding dresses — and the results are always fantastic. Check her out!
