From afar the breakfast sandwich looked ok. It was not. The egg is a two discs of pre-fab rubber, the cheese is melted, but the English muffin is not toasted. I basically paid $ 9.25 for a sliced chicken apple sausage.

This was the third time I have eaten at this airport establishment. I am often at SJC flying American Airlines home, in search of a light lunch and/or dinner item to eat either before or during the flight. First Class Deli initially was a Japanese restaurant which failed. Hence the same owner reopened the space under this new name with a fresh new menu. The place is bright, clean and inviting. The staff are incredibly nice and beyond accommodating. If I were rating the space and service they would get 5 stars. The chairs/tables are perfect for eating and getting work done. Today I had some New England clam chowder and chipotle macaroni salad. The clam chowder was good. The macaroni salad was too spicy for my taste. It had a tad too much heat. I’m not sure I understand the strategy of making it spicy in a deli located within an airport terminal. Must be a reason. I will return because the other options at this terminal have similar challenges. At least these people are super nice and I feel good giving them business.
