I lived here for about a year on the top floor at the 87 Glen Eyrie complex. I don’t know about the other floors or buildings but it was scorching hot in the summer(no AC units in most apartments) and very cold in the winter(drafty windows) that heat at full-blast couldn’t counteract. The carpet and woodwork was so old that it had a bit of a permanent funk to it, although it’s not so noticeable once you get used to it. Management was responsive to small issues like pipe leaks and caulking needing to be redone on the bathtub but completely ignored bigger issues like the drafty windows and smells. They basically told me it was tough luck even as I was paying $ 70 per month for electricity just to heat the place. The complex is relatively cheap, which might have earned it 3 to 4 stars due to being a good value for the money. However, this value got erased by them skirting me on the deposit. I cleaned the apartment for over 8 hours prior to moving out and the super even commented on it during the walk-through. He promised to take out the bare minimum from the deposit for cleaning(since the drapes needed professional cleaning) and give a refund for painting days and extra days on the contract during which the keys were given to a new tenant. Two months later I received my deposit back with all sorts of extra cleaning fees added and without any sort of refunds which I was promised. So, maybe it’s a good value while you rent, but this value is reduced when they short you when your leave. Not to mention that it’s incredibly unscrupulous to do this in the first place.
