The master bathroom at my rental property dated from 1995 and needed to be updated. Goodfellas was working across the street, so I asked them if they’d be interested in a smaller project. They agreed and gave us a great price. Everything has gone very smoothly, even when, in the demolition process, we discovered some additional touches we wanted to incorporate. We’ve appreciated their professional communication and attention to detail. We have enjoyed working with Nathan, Caesar, Erik and Carlos. Not only are they are consummate craftspeople, but they are also great personalities! It’s been great working with all of you! Thank you for the excellent service!

My wife bought a new washer and dryer– but I was having difficulty connecting the dryer system through our kitchen into our bathroom. At the same time this was happening we hired Goodfellas to renovate our bathroom and kitchen and it was overall a pleasant experience. We have a simple style beach house, small with hardwood floors and really simple white tilling throughout. Keep this in mind– because Nathan never pushed anything more than we were planning on doing. He acknowledged the layout we wanted and knew that our house wasn’t meant for anything extravagant. They replaced the kitchen and bathroom floors (ours had suffered the wear an tear of the previous family and their pets) as well as the countertops.
Up until this point we were moderately satisfied with the job and they had met all expectations; but what amazed me was when Nathan heard me say in passing that I was having difficultly connecting the dyer he volunteered to help us. We assumed he was going to add an extra cost, but he did the work with no charge. Nathan and everyone he brought had such a great work ethic. My family (along with our house) cant thank them enough.

We continue working with Nathan as our Project Manager with Goodfellas. We had a new roof and windows put in followed by recessed lighting in our living room. We just finished a complete renovation of our kitchen. It is absolutely beautiful. The quality of work was excellent and prices reasonable. Nathan was always on top of the job and his Foreman, Abel was excellent in his recommendations, leadership and job knowledge. I recommend them highly.

Goodfellas did our main bathroom remodel in our 1950s house. The project manager Tom was very knowledgable and easy to communicate with and the two gentlemen who did the work were courteous and efficient. The overall cost was comparable to the other quotes we had gotten, but Goodfellas does not include the finish materials, they quote the labor and basic materials (ie drywall, studs, pipes) giving me more control over the finished look and final price. Being able to shop around for exactly what I wanted and the best deal saved money compared to other quotes. The total time frame given was 3 weeks and they almost made it, but the City of San Jose had 1 week out appointments for inspection that pushed the project over 3 days. Overall very good, if you want more control over cost and finished look then Goodfellas is an excellent choice.

I recently had word done in my 3-​bedroom 1.5 bathroom home. With my kids getting older, I needed to have my half bathroom remodeled for my growing family. The bathroom had not been touched up ever since we had moved in the home and it was time to do this project that I had been envisioning in my mind from the ground up. The shower was done with a complete bathtub removal and converted into a stand up tile shower with a rainfall style showerhead and shower bench. The lighting and fixtures were also redone but I was most impressed with was the work on the vanity. I would highly recommend GoodFellas Construction on any home remodeling. They shared my vision and helped me realize it without any questions asked. They have professional recommendations and knowledgeable contractors to guide you every step of the way.

I called up GoodFellas to get a quote and talk about the rooms I wanted to add to my home. Their office was helpful and knowledgeable and recommended I had someone check out my place. Nathan did his inspection and was patient while I explained all the details. Their price was very competitive and I loved Nathan’ ideas. I’m excited to see the transformation, they are starting this week!

My wife and I wanted to take advantage of the lower home prices in the US so we found a nicely priced character home on the edge of San Jose in November of last year. All we had to do was fix it up a bit and rent out one of the floors to cover the mortgage. It was kind of risky but it’s nice to have a home somewhere hot for a change.
The living spaces in the home are really nice but the bathrooms needed to be updated and the pipes were basically antiques.
So our new neighbours suggested doing a Unilocal search, which is how I found Goodfellas. They actually came right over the same day to give us an estimate, which was great because I had to fly back to Canada for work.
Our idea for all three bathrooms was pretty simple. They needed to be updated and the original tile needed to be replaced. Goodfellas did a pretty impressive job on everything!
My wife and I are new to California but I never felt at any point that we were being taken advantage of by these guys. Thats what I enjoyed most about working with goodfellas.

Living here in San Mateo, My boyfriend and I had a hard time finding a quality and professional remodeling company. After looking on Unilocal I realized that GoodFellas know what they are doing and that people are happy with their final price. We both have no idea what we are doing when it comes to remodeling so we appreciated the help from Ron our project manager.
I had my guest bathroom and living room completely remodeled. We expanded the bathroom and added new tiling and sink. For the living room we added a bar area connecting the kitchen and additional lighting. I loved how Ron was on site everyday and that no additional costs popped up in the middle of the project.
Compared to the other construction companies we met with, none came close to having the same level of experience or professionalism that GoodFellas had. Thank you for the beautiful work!

What more can I say about the quality and professionalism delivered by the people at Good Fellas Construction. I have dealt with many other contractors in the past with many home projects but none have come close to the caliber that Goodfellas delivers.
I read the reviews for GoodFellas on Unilocal and found that their quotes were reasonably competitive. I had my kitchen completely remodeled with cabinets, countertops, and fixtures and I can say that the end result of the project is what I had envisioned for my home. During the remodel, the workers were respectful of my home and family space where there level of professionalism reflected not only on their work work but attitude as well.
They worked out any issues that I had during the remodel and found that they catered 100% to my every specification. I am looking forward to have my adjacent half bathroom remodeled by GoodFellas knowing the quality of work that they can deliver.

I contacted these guys because I found them via Angie’s list. I know it’s like $ 5, but I had to pay to find them. I received a phone call from a woman that I can only describe as confused. She took my information, and I was honest and told her that I had never remodeled anything before… and I really needed someone to come out and help me with a project.
It’s considerable… we have an upstairs loft that I want to close in and add a door. I had some ideas, but I really needed someone to help scope it with me. Anyway, she finally cuts me off and says, «Well we have a $ 5,000 minimum… do you think this will be more than $ 5,000?» Um. Didn’t I JUST tell you I had never remodeled anything… and that I needed help? How do I know how much it’s going to cost? I was nice about it, I politely told her I wasn’t sure… and that I figured the cost would be considerable. She then told me she would have to call me back, and I never heard from her again.
Nice front line people guys. Thanks for nothing. It sounds like these folks want to gouge you if they can. Good luck.

I’m moving in with my fiancé at the end of the month and we bought our first house together. Instead of demolishing the entire house and rebuilding, we decided to do a major remodel simply to save on some time and money. After searching far and wide for home improvement companies, I found goodfellas on angieslist and called them up and they we’re able to set a time for an in home estimate right away… For free, which was nice.
We remodeled two bathrooms, the kitchen, and added a guest room. We made a few changes to the living room as well by adding a little island between the living room and dining room with a built in entertainment system. We have brand new custom cabinets and granite counter tops. Our bathrooms have under mounted sinks and a beautiful custom designed standalone shower with an over head shower head. IT RAINS FROM MY BATHROOM CEILING!!! (The best part)
Our project manager had his own crew and they were there every day until the job was done. He seemed to be pretty well informed about what was going on and when things had to be done. For the most part, it got finished in pretty good time with the exception of permit stuff, but I guess you never know with those things.
All in all, I love my new home. My fiancé and I are extremely happy with the outcome and would recommend these guys to anyone in the Bay Area looking to remodel their home.

Nathan at GoodFellas Construction and his crew did some awesome work for us. He had great suggestions on ways to improve the space and solve weather proofing problems– which were renovations we didn’t even think of. They were always on time and cleaned up at the end of the day. We are quite picky people and Jeff worked with us and made sure all the details were done well. We would not hesitate to call them back to do more work when the time comes.

This past December, my family and I purchased a house that had the perfect layout but needed updating. We decided to gut the kitchen and update the living room, replace the flooring, replace everything in all 3 bathrooms, and paint the house. We called in multiple contractors and got bids from them. We chose goodfellas because at our initial meeting the project manager he seemed to care about what we wanted for our home, not what was the most expensive or would help make a profit off of us. He did everything to make sure we were satisfied while working within our budget. When you get so much done the way we did you have to really mentally prepare yourself for the process. It was overwhelming at times but we stuck it out with Them and we’re happy we did. Thank you goodfellas

My family worked with Nathan and remodeled our kitchen in January. The project was very well done and only took 14 days. Two things that stood out for me working with this company, was their timing and the quality of the job done– they were prompt in starting and finishing the job and the result is awesome. Two days after our initial meeting with Nathan they began working on the kitchen and I didn’t have to coordinate anything. The crew was responsive and accommodating and respected my home throughout the process.
The countertops make a great addition to my kitchen and are without a doubt my favorite of all the renovations done.
I will say this much, the price is competitive but you really do get what you pay for with a big company than with a small time contractor. They have a 24 hour hotline we used when some issues were met because of the age old pipes in the house, but Nathan was on top of it and everything was good to go the next day! So nifty.

Work was completed on-​time, with passing city inspections, and no major hiccups. No complaints!

The planning phase of our bathroom remodeling project has been going very well and we are impressed with organization and customer service skills of our project manager (Ran). He gave us excellent recommendations and was very diligent and prompt in his follow-​up. I am hoping that project would continue to run smoothly through completion!

John Montoya is such a patient and professional guy. He takes the time to explain the process, to help his client envision the possibilities all while honoring a budget. We met with John several times before starting our addition project and felt that he understood us from the start. We cannot wait to see how the progress will be… so far so good; stay tuned.

When my mother said she wanted to remodel the kitchen, I jumped on the internet and looked around and couldn’t find anyone nearby our home that I liked. So a friend of mine referral me to GoodFellas Construction, I checked the reviews and the photo gallery of their previous customers and liked it! Just what my mother and I was looking for.
I had some ideas of my own and the guy who I worked with, also threw in some of his ideas! together we created magic I think and my mother is in love with the new kitchen.
The last time we ate together as a family at table was many moons ago: P but with the newly remodeled kitchen, we’re able to sit down together and eat dinner as a family and it was nice.

Just finished my home and it looks awesome! I am so happy that the kitchen for my rental home is better then my live-​in home! I had such an awesome experience with the initial consultation, during the remodel they even Skype’d with me to show me the process and the finished product was better then I thought it was gonna be!!! So happy with them! I recommend them for any home remodel projects.

This review is strictly based on my experience with Goodfellas Construction in getting a bid on a small 400 sf bath remodel project.
I called them up after finding them on Unilocal and spoke to Nancy who was very pleasant over the phone. When I told her I was shopping round and needed a bid she hooked me up with Dave who ended up making an appointment with me for the next day. During our walk thru he seemed very familiar with the scope of this type of project which made me feel like he knew what he was talking about and if he didn’t know he was up front about it, which I appreciated.
The couple days later I had a competitive bid in my hand with a cost breakdown of labor and materials.
The plan was to use our tax money to do the remodel but an emergency came up and we had to halt those plans. We’re now saving up and hopefully will be calling Dave back in a few months to get the ball rolling on this project.
