Best place ever! They listen to you carefully and do their very best to please you and make sure you are happy with the service.
I have taken my 2 poodles there and I absolutely love how they come out looking! I’ve been to other groomers and they just do what ever cut they want on my dogs when I specifically tell them I want a certain cut.
I will keep coming here every time my babies need grooming.

Loved it! They did an amazing job on my Mila girl! Love that they open early to drop as well.

I have been bringing my dogs here for over 25 years and will continue to do so since they do such a great job! I highly recommend them. I will continue to bring my dogs here as they walk in looking like mutts and come out looking like a purebreds show dogs.
I used to own two Cocker Spaniels (who are now in doggy heaven). I now own a Carin Terrier (looks like Toto). These are long hair dogs and need a good grooming. Grooming Extraordinaire has groomed my dogs perfectly. They take the time to ask how I would like my dog cut and discuss it with me. They really know their business. (In addition, my chihuahua gets a mani/​pedi).
I honestly tried the big name stores and they did a HORRIBLE job, also tried the mobile groomers and had so many problems. I will keep my business here.

Finding a grooming salon for my puppy Latté can be a stressful situation. I’ve been traumatized several times by horrifying haircuts and I’ve searched endlessly on Unilocal for a grooming salon that has had a good review for bichon cuts. Thankfully, Grooming Extraordinaire did not disappoint!
I made an appointment easily over the phone for the same week. I brought Latté in and the guy at the front desk (forgot his name now) was so friendly and patient. We chatted for 10 minutes about important things like how he does with haircuts, how his hair was styled before, what his hair looks like now and what they would do or not do to it and what his sensitivities are. I was impressed by this thorough pre-​grooming assessment and I felt much more at ease when I left Latté at the salon. I got a time estimate for when I might be expecting a call (~3 hours) and I was on my way.
Just about 3 – 3.5 hours later, I received a phone call letting me know that Latté was ready. When I picked him up, he was fluffy, clean and adorable. They did a great job with his cut and did not make him look like a poodle which is one of my greatest fears. I will definitely bring Latté back! They are thorough, friendly and do a fantastic job.

First time taking my small poodle mix to a grooming salon which, was a great experience! and at a great price ($ 65.50 with 10% off for the first timers) A complete grooming session in which she needed to be shaved to the very last layer of her coat due to the severity of her knots. I ended up calling at 8am on a Friday and asked Jose, the person that took the call if I could bring her over in 20min. Which surprisingly, said yes by the way I want to mention he was very nice and helpful in answering all my questions and concerns. Well worth the 3 hours my dog took getting groomed will definitely be back!

i have taken my persian cat here twice. As her hair is long and sheds, I asked for her to be completly shaved. Instead she came out looking like a ridiculous lion. Not what I asked for at all. Her legs, tail, and head are still long and matted.
Worse, we dropped her off right on time for her 11:00 appointment but she was not done until 4:30. Poor thing was there all day. They said they were busy that day so she had to wait. Why make an 11:00 appointment then?
And even worse, I was charged $ 102 for the ridiculous hair cut. An outrageous price! Also, I was told that my cat was no longer welcome back because she was «too difficult». Honestly, she is the sweetest cat. I’m sure she doesn’t enjoyed getting shaved, but aren’t these people supposed to be professionals? Are they not trained in grooming cats? This is why we pay you to do it. No big deal, though, as I would NEVER come back here anyway.
The staff is unfriendly, my cat was poorly cared for, and her hair cut is stupid.

I have taken my shih poo here 4 times now and I can honestly say that they do a great job with her. My dog is always nervous at the groomers and they are very patient with her. They always listen to me when I request a certain hair cut and even make some helpful suggestions. They ask about her health changes and make notes for each dog. My dog always comes away happy and that makes me happy !

After a couple of missteps, we’ve now been taking our doggy to Mark’s for several years and have been happy each time. The cuts have been good, the service has been friendly and reliable, and the rates seem reasonable. They’re our only groomer now.

This place is great! The first time I brought my toy poodle, I was greeted by a young man with a pony tail who was very nice and welcoming he asked what Kind of cut I wanted for my dog, and he brought out the stylist. The stylist was not your everyday stylist you would expect. He was a big buff thuggish looking guy who asked if I wanted a top not lol I thought that was pretty cool! Never judge a book by its cover! I came back to pick my dog up and to my surprise he looked better than he has ever looked!

I have brought my dog here twice. The first time went well, but this last time we had a bad experience. We dropped her off at 10 a.m. and she was not ready to be picked up until after 6 p.m. We got a call around 4:30 saying that she was next in line to be groomed. They said they were short staffed that day, but I would have rather picked her up to be groomed on a different day or later that day instead of having her wait there for 6 and a half hours without having any work done.
When I got there to pick her up she downed the water by the front desk faster than I have ever seen her drink, which makes me think they were not giving her water. When we got home she also went to the bathroom right away as if she had been holding it in all day. I now feel like a bad momma for bringing her there.
The actual hair cut was okay. They followed my instructions, though if you look you can see the lines from the shaver in her fur… I was very disappointed in this experience, especially since I paid a hefty $ 86.

I’ve taken our large cockapoo (35lbs bread w/​Standard poodle) here about 6 times. He comes home looking good, smelling good, no cuts, not thirsty, not needing a pee break… etc.
I get poodle feet — which is hard to do… shave feet between toe webbing on a high strung breed of dog who wiggles non-​stop. Having had a few poodles, I’ve seen quite a few nicks and cuts by really good groomers over the years. Worst I’ve seen from Groomer Extraordinaire is a little spot of razor burn — that clears up in a day.
They do a great job with the rest of his cut… adorable face, even on the body.etc. I ask for some specific things for practical reasons that they deliver.
Yes the lobby is a little dark and it is near a small industrial area… But seriously people… its a dog grooming place not some snooty hair salon that charges 2xs as much as it should just for location.
The back where the dogs are kept looks well lit, w/​ventilation and clean. That coupled with good cuts and happy dogs is what really matters.

I adore the team here. i’ve tried a few different places for my boys’ grooming and this one has been one i’ve been coming back to for a while now. My boys don’t leave anxious as they have with other places and the staff is always friendly offering to help me walk 2 rambunctious huskies to my car. I usually drop them off with Jose who always asks if there’s any special instructions for them. They come back pearly white and of course ready to get out of there. They are Huskies that don’t like water or baths, you would swear they were crying torture when we bathe them ourselves. It’s not a 5 because they do sometimes overbook and end up running over their estimate time, but if i tell them ahead of time i need to pick up my boys at a specific time they have been good thus far about making that request. Until my boys tell me otherwise, this is where they will get groomed when they are horribly blowing coat.

I took my dog (11 lb yorkie-​poodle) to Grooming Extraordinaire. They butchered him. I honestly couldn’t believe they managed to make my baby look that bad. They SHAVED him and then left his ears looking like some sort of pig-​tails. He was embarrassed and I was angry.
They never called and asked if they could shave him and I most certainly did not give them permission. I would have preferred if they could have given me a heads up. Even if he had a few knots, I would have preferred them to cut the knots out and continue OR I would have spent some extra time combing him out if I would have known that these groomers were going to take the easy way out. And I had him professionally groomed every month or two so I know his hair was manageable.
Poor guy. it was in the dead of winter too. I had to buy him a sweater. It took weeks for this massacre to grow out and I had to re-​cut the hair on his ears myself so he didn’t look so silly. He was the laughing stock of the dog park.
Be careful with this place! That being said, my mom took our sheltie here in the 90’s and early 2000 and she looked great. However, Shelties do not need haircuts since their hair does not grow.

Love this place! I do not own a fancy dog and he does not require any special grooming. He’s just a mutt with the kind of fur that decides to come out in handfuls during the Summer. I take him here for a nice wash and to have his undercoat taken care of. He always comes back looking like a rockstar and sometimes during holidays they will throw a theme bandana on him for that special touch.
Great staff. They have always been very accommodating when I call fairly last minute for an appt.
I am a repeat customer and I don’t live close by. I just trust them! There are even windows you can look into so you can view the grooming area. I like this! It’s like being able to see the kitchen when you’re at a restaurant. They have nothing to hide :)

Took my dog here for the first time and when I picked him up. I was so impressed! They did a really great job grooming him! I would definitely definitely recommend this place! I gave it 4 stars because of location and parking was very limited but overall they’re amazing!

Love this place, my dogs get the best grooming in all San Jose and the prices are reasonable, the employees really nice and sweet with my dogs.

Gave them the benefit of the doubt by bringing our dogs to this groomer several times because we were happy with the cut but their SERVICE N FACILITY is VERY POOR!
Brought my dog in for 9:00am appointment. She was not ready until 6:00PM!!! Not to mention when she was done they left me a voicemail stating twice «we are closed.» after I had called twice wondering why it was taking so long.
Our dog was extremely THIRSTY and had to go to the bathroom. The man behind the desk was on the phone with a client taking his time logging them into the system while I stood there n waited. In addition to the LATE pick up, they gave me NO APOLOGY. WARNING DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE!!!

We took our Aussie, Buster, to Grooming Extraordinaire for the first time and although his hair cut looks good, we won’t be bringing him back due to lack of animal care and poor business practices.
The most disappointing thing was that it was very apparent that they hadn’t taken him out all day (yes, it basically took a full day for them to finish). Buster couldn’t get outside fast enough and went to the bathroom right on the sidewalk as soon as we were out the door. Definitely not his typical behavior.
Also, as soon as we got home, he drank non-​stop for a good few minutes. I can’t say whether there wasn’t any water available or he just didn’t drink because he had to go to the bathroom so badly. Either way, he shouldn’t have been parched coming home.
Next, the appointment was at 10 am. My husband was told he would be finished by 3, which already seemed like a long time. We didn’t get a call until 5:55, right before they were closing, telling us that Buster was ready. When I arrived to get him, they didn’t bring him out until after I was done paying, and I felt pressured to give a tip without even seeing his haircut. It was also more expensive than expected, because they considered him a big dog, rather than a medium size dog like most other places.
Very disappointing experience, especially after seeing all the good reviews.

I love this doggie salon. I have two dogs a mixed corgi/​pomeranian who doesn’t trust anyone and a very nervous jack russell/​chihuahua. Both of them love coming here and look so at ease and happy when I drop them off and pick them up. Spike and Fox are so relexed when they get out it seems as if they have gone to a doggie day spa. I’m so happy I took a leap of faith and tried this place. My dogs are clean and Fox’s hair cut is exactly what ask for.

I’ve been bringing my dog here since we adopted him. I love the staff they really get to know their client. For example, the African American gentleman knew I was in law school and he would always ask my dad how I was doing in school. They always gave us grooming tips and advice. We have a bichon frise and he’s not exactly easy to style. Once while we were on vacay my aunt took him to a random groomer and they butchered our dog. He was bald! Grooming Extraordinaire really knows how to take care of our booboo.
